My wife and I first met Greg in 2012. We had owned a small cottage in Groton Long Point and the 600…read moresq ft living area was getting too small to accommodate our summer visitors (too many sleeping bags to trip over in the morning!). By chance we ended up visiting a new build being shown by Greg and Brom Builders. Greg listened to our 'small house, small budget' dilemma. During that first interaction he without question assured us, that even though our budget was limited we could achieve a dream house. In a couple of days he took my 3 Post-It notes of the house I wanted to build, and voila! He created external and internal views on paper and by way of digital video, a complete walk-through. I was hooked. 10 months later we moved in ... we had so much fun, Greg & Brom were so much fun to work with and everyday was like Christmas, we would walk the 20 yards to our new construction (we rented another cottage right across the street and just gasped at the progress each day, admittedly I always took the evening tour with a glass of red wine so was always happy!). Now the reason I tell this story ... Greg is not just a realtor, he lives and breathes housing and construction, his enthusiasm and passion are inspirational. He knows building code inside out and can instantly tell you right from wrong. We have kept in touch with Greg throughout the years and shared a few chases on property over the period. Our latest was just a few months back where we secured our second home ... Greg freely admitted that this was his quickest purchase ever People ask me, "How can you be friends with a realtor?" ... quite easily ... He is out not to 'bone you', he enjoys the service he provides and you can tell. I may be too old to buy another house, but hey who knows if I do I will be giving him a call!

Within minutes a young lady from Garden Realty was calling looking to find out additional details on our wants and needs. A few minutes later that day, I received an email from Greg Hanner with additional information on the property, the area and an introductory video of himself, his realty company and services. Later that evening, Greg called me to introduce himself already informed on the details from my conversation with his assistant. He shared his background and extensive experience on the southeastern part of CT (2022 and now for 2023 the #1 Agent of the Year for CT New London County). I told him that we were early in our search and that we weren't even sure if we were ready to buy any properties. However, if we found the right place at the right price, we would consider it. Greg was very professional and pleasant, and even with this low-level interest, he was willing to assist us in our search. Over the next few days, he shared a series of property options, his own personal experiences with other buyers, and scheduled a viewing on the original property we had inquired on. Over the next few weeks, Greg facilitated several showings, and was present at each one, very engaged, clearly informed and knowledgeable. It was also very apparent that Greg had plenty of experience in the area, as each property we saw hit many of the must-haves we were looking for. He pointed out where a compromise would be necessary along with pros and cons, at times highlighting features we would not have considered. Finally, it seemed as if Greg knew everyone as we connected with the realtors on the seller's side and others. We requested a showing at another unit in the Mystic building we liked. The unit had a renter and getting in for a viewing required some negotiating. Greg made the necessary arrangements and we there we found our dream unit! Greg helped us come up with the best and fairest offer which after some waiting (and back and forth with Greg) was accepted. Greg presented us with a bank for financing with whom he had plenty of experience and who were best suited for the area. Greg scheduled the property inspection with a local home inspection team he had worked with in the past. Greg was there throughout, asking questions, ensuring that we understood where there were areas of opportunity. From the inspection, there were a number of areas where we would need addressed at some point, so Greg negotiated a credit to the purchase price as to not disrupt the tenant to address some cosmetic issues. Overall, our experience with Greg was very positive. His knowledge of the local market, his experience as seasoned realtor, his pleasant demeanor, with and realistic expectations were exactly what we needed. A short few months later, we are happy owners of a beautiful condo unit in downtown Mystic a few minutes away from restaurants, shops and everything Mystic has to offer. Thanks Greg!!

PMI recently acquired Moxie Management. I will add my review of Moxie under this since most of…read moreMoxie's staff transferred to PMI. Moxie was in the process of attempting an eviction because the landlord didn't like the fact that we went to the health department with some legitimate complaints in regards to repairs and such that were declined by the landlord. We made sure to let PMI know this was a retaliation case and provided evidence. They still proceeded with the eviction and lost. There has been zero communication with PMI since. All complaints have still not been addressed. According to these comments I have read, they love the landlords and investors because that's where they get their money. Stay weary if you are a tenant. You do not matter to them. Moxie Review Update: PMI southeast purchased Moxie, went ahead with an eviction and lost. Backstory: when we moved into our apartment, we paid $1050 because it was not in the best shape. The bedroom doors upstairs broken, closet doors unattached, cracks in the tile, holes in the ceiling and wall my fiancee patched up, broken blinds, stains and cracks on the walls and floors, ets We cleaned and fixed what we could without breaking the bank, as part of the deal for getting it cheaper was we rented it "as is". Landlord sold the building to new guy. After a couple years, new guy hires moxie management. Now, we can talk about Moxie. We have already paid a non-refundable pet screening fee ($250) with the original landlord. Since Moxie stepped in, they want us to pay ANOTHER pet screening fee ($30/pet). They require a bogus resident benefits package, which holds absolutely no value to us considering we pay rental insurance yearly, not monthly. When stating that we don't need that they said it is required for their people to verify we have insurance every month. Well, we can give the proof once a year. There is no need to check every month when it is paid in full, therefore it is truly a junk fee to just collect more money from rentors. The junk fees have to go. Disabled people, especially veterans, should be exempt from their scams. The rent is being increased again to make it comparable to other apartments in the area, however as stated in the backstory, one could imagine our unit is in fact NOT comparable to others in the area.

From day one, Jason has been straight-forward, hard-working, and absolutely committed to us achieving OUR goals with the rental property. His staff, especially Ed (who is such a great guy), are similarly focused on customer satisfaction -- both the renters as well as the property owners. PMI took great care of our home which was especially important since we were out of the area and sometimes gone for months at a time. We have now decided to move to the area full-time and have taken the property off the rental market but we cannot recommend PMI more highly.

They literally tried to get us to pay for the cost of dry-rotted blinds-(how was that even our fault?), one missing patch of carpet that was torn up when we moved in, which supposedly costs upwards of $600 by itself and some other random BS. Also stated that their "military clause" was superior to what the law actually states and tried to keep me in the apartment despite my husband at the time having gone on deployment and I couldn't stay there. After I got a lawyer involved, they quickly dropped everything and we haven't heard from them since. They will try to rip you off for literally everything they can, even though they "support the troops", etc etc.. We were also told that this was a "family friendly" area, as we weren't able to view the property before signing a lease due to the military. We weren't able to go off anything other than pictures shown and "trusted" info given. I don't know what "family friendly" means to them, but it doesn't mean not being able to walk outside at night and finding syringes outside the apartment complex while walking my dog. Our upstairs neighbors moved out while we were there and they were yelling about basically the same things. They told us "good luck" when we tried to vacate, as The Terraces were trying to get everything they could out of them as well. Hope that helps!
