Some of the administration were horrible and one actually made an Acquaintance of mine cry because they made a threat to tell their parents about the people they were hanging out with (despite them having no issues). The worst one for me is that I had an IEP and they had a meeting with me about it without my parents even present or informed. I wasn't 18 or an legal adult and they had no reason to do so. Unfortunately the group of good people there doesn't outweigh the horrible ones.

There are limitless after school options, and four years of a language. When I went, they offered Mandarin, Japanese, French and Spanish. I took French. On top of everything else, they go on field trips to different countries every single year. I love everything about Snowden and even considered becoming a high school teacher just to work there, until I discovered I hate teenagers which is neither here nor there. Long story short, Snowden is a fabulous high school.

Every staff and faculty member along with parents of students I have met are very enthusiastic, helpful and are huge supporters of the school. They teach kids how to take responsibility for their actions & their lives and teach them "manners" all while providing a fabulous education. My son has made many friends and simply LOVES going to school there. For him it works fabulously. I feel as if he is getting a far superior education that he would have in our town, even though our town has a good high school. Everything good we've heard about Milton Academy seems to be true so far in our first year…read more Aside from their academic reputation, it's also apparent that Milton focuses heavily on developing community citizens. They engage students by encouraging volunteer time during school hours, and also parents by allowing them to interact to help students in various ways. The curriculum allows students to take lessons in chess and Chinese even beginning in Kindergarten. There is a curriculum plan for the year even in K -- but they fold teaching into creative ways of learning, and the students seem to love being here. The campus is expansive and impressive, but also inviting and playful. There's always a good positive vibe and energy around campus. I especially like how open and inviting the Head of School and leadership are to questions and feedback. They openly encourage parents to inquire and provide input so they can continue improving.

Although the academics are top notch, there is just something missing there. Yes your son will learn more than he needs to know, but without a doubt it comes at a price (not to mention $16,000). I hate the administration. They just are not very good. For instance, today they fired a teacher who was probably the best in the entire school. It was ugly and it occured in the middle of the school year. I consider that disgraceful. The athletics are top notch, and so if your son is an athlete you might consider St. John's. Overall, I would've given three stars, but after today's disgraceful and ugly firing, I have to give only two. It just reinforces my previous belief that the adminstration is incompetent. Not to mention many of the teachers are absolutely horrible to their students, (i.e. teachers giving kids the finger, calling them names, etc.) My youngest son will not be attending.

The ambience is lovely...it feels high-end without being pretentious. Food choices provide something for everyone, including those with any kind of gluten sensitivity and other dietary restrictions. Our server was excellent and all of the food was outstanding. Personally, I thought that my salmon was one of the best pieces of cooked salmon I've ever had. (I prefer my salmon raw and tend to shy away from cooked salmon because it's usually overcooked and dry.) Others at the table had the duck sliders, the special oxtail soup, the burger and a different fish dish. Rave reviews all around. Cocktails were also well done! Dessert was decadent and was plenty for sharing. I will definitely visit Joon again when I'm in town.
