After searching around, I came across Ahad & Co and what a relief and blessing they are. I simply called them, explained my issue, then I was connected with one of their professionals. The CPA confirmed that it was something they could tackle and we began the process. At the time, I was working with Tarikur, an absolute treasure to work with! He explained what needed to be done, asked all pertinent questions, and guided me thru the process. In the end, I came back with an awesome refund, and greater than that, I had a peace of mind with regard to my situation. Fast forward to 2026, I did not hesitate to have them prepare my taxes again. Unfortunately, Tarikur is no longer there, but I was assisted by Akram. There were some delays but he completed my taxes before the deadline and his did a great job preparing everything. I found it very easy to review my return and understand his rationale for his preparation. Furthermore, I received a great return again and I could not be more pleased! Aside from my experience with the staff, I really appreciate their customer portal. There is no need to email anything because you can upload all of your documents to their secure portal. You can also chat with your rep, pay your invoices, and download your returns, all in one place. I especially appreciated that as a returning customer, all my documents were there, so Akram was able to see what was done last year. Super efficient! In terms of pricing, they will seem high if you are used to doing your own taxes or maybe you've gone to a local tax preparer. However, it's important to understand that these are true tax experts who can navigate any situation, so you're in good hands. If you are dealing with a sensitive tax situation and want a peace of mind, I highly recommend using them. I reached out to them months later inquiring about the filing for another matter and they casually informed me they never filed them. They offered plenty of excuses, blamed me for filing them within the legal submission parameters (i.e. on/by April 15th), and offered zero compensation for their egregious error. They actually proceeded to charge me the full amount to file and even expected me to pay the late-filing & extension fees that I incurred as a direct and sole result of an accounting firm's inability to file taxes! Every single representative I have dealt with is allergic to accountability and deals exclusively in excuses. Shameful and unprofessional behavior all around... especially from Edderkys Gonzalez and the ceo, Ahad Ali. He is full of excuses all while admitting they screwed up. They offered $100 off of preparation service for this year...I immediately declined. Then they offered $200 off and I immediately declined. That is a fraction of what they cost me already from last year in late penalties alone and the ceo told me the absolute most he could discount tax preparation at his own company was $200. Clearly a lie. He's the ceo of a small, private, company...not the ceo of Goldman Sachs.

I was adamant about hiring a CPA because I had issues with a non professional in the past. Jugdeep knew this, yet he misrepresented himself, I've since confirmed he does NOT have a CPA license by a quick license lookup. Until recently, he was pleasant, I even posted him on TikTok and brought him clientele in the past. I moved out of the country last August, he knew this, his attitude recently turned VERY nasty. After giving me the run around and asking for more documents (which I sent immediately), he completely snapped. He told me to send someone in my place to come sign my papers, when I tried to coordinate a time for someone to sign, he told me verbatim: "I don't want to do your taxes. Find someone else. Your taxes are a mess." Like why would you tell me to have someone sign and then tell me you're busy on the day I said I can send someone, and then tell me you don't want to do them? He waited until the literal day before my taxes were due to bail, knowing I was out of the country. A real professional would never desert a client like that. I am very pleasant and respectful, so because you don't know how to do my taxes because you're not a real cpa, you decided to be nasty with me? How mature. There were major red flags I should have listened to: He gives clients business cards with flash drives and insists we don't use email because it "leaves a trail." My business is 100% legit, so this is a huge red flag for illegal activity. Secondly, I was audited last year, and the numbers never made sense. I now believe he was the cause. I've dealt with a fraudulent tax preparer before who actually ended up in prison for fraud, this experience feels exactly the same. I am reporting him to the IRS OPR and the New York OPR. I dodged a bullet by looking into him, but please, save yourself the trouble and go to a real professional. Judging by his responses to all the negative comments I'm sure he will deflect and somehow turn this on me which is fine, I was 100% honest with this review. You can deflect your business practices to the law, I genuinely would have never went to him had I read the negative reviews.
