This practice is wonderful. I have been going here for many years. Margaret Light is as good as you can get!! She is truly incredible. Very thorough and smart. There are negative reviews of the front desk which I have never had a problem with so I'm not sure what that is about. They have always been extremely polite and efficient. Parking can be a hassle but Northern VA as a whole has parking issues and I always find a spot in the garage. In all the years I have been going there I have never had a billing issue. And that is probably handled by a third party like most doctor offices do today. For me these are issues that you could find at many doctor's offices. And while I have never experienced any of these problems listed above, I'm not excusing them, nor am I saying people should not be annoyed. But having access to incredible doctors make any of these issues very minor for me. So if you are looking for GREAT doctors -- this is the place. Drs. Light, Mir and Zahir are fabulous. They actually listen to you as a patient and they care. And they are very informed and keep up on all the latest medical updates. They really know what they are doing. This is priceless!! read more

I love, love this practice! Dr. Mir is the best doctor I have had- She is super sweet, taking her time with you during a doctor's visit. When our son's doctor retired I suggested he come to my doctor. He was skeptical - after all he "felt weird going to a lady doctor"- but once he met Dr. Mir, he too loved her. Margaret Light is an amazing nurse practitioner, so if Dr. Mir is not available I have no hesitation seeing Margaret. Dr. Zahir is also an excellent doctor. She is one of the most caring doctors I have ever been to and really takes time to listen to my concerns. I have a lot of respect for the medical profession, but often find a lot of doctors rigid in their view/approach to wellness, especially prevention, and lacking in people skills. That said, my PCPs at Prosperity are AWESOME! All the doctors in the practice are top notch, personable, listen to their clients, and have a broader view of wellness than I've experienced with other doctors. I'm a very happy patient of Dr. Taseen Mir. One of my favorite things about Prosperity is that I can go there both for genreal health concerns as well as "lady doctor" visits. Dr. Mir is always cheerful and thorough and shows genuine concern when it comes to my health and making accurate diagnoses. I moved to FL for about two years and as soon as I moved back to the NoVa area I didn't hesitate to return to Prosperity and espeically to Dr. Mir. I've seen one or two other doctors at Prosperity and I've never had a bad experience. Overall I think this is a great office, full of doctors who really care! read more

I've been seeing Dr Zahir for years now. I got introduced to him because the office was about 5 minutes from my work. Now he's moved on to Reston and I have no intentions of looking for another dr. I'll gladly make my way to Reston to continue seeing him. He's always very attentive and understanding and the office is usually great about getting an appointment set up as soon as possible. Very rarely have I had to wait to get an appointment with them. Dr Zahir has seen me through a lot and even makes follow up calls to check up when things were bad. I'd recommend this practice to anyone. read more

I started as a patient of Dr. Kitay's. She seems competent enough but what a cold fish!! When I had to go back for a med check, I was given an appt. with Margaret Light. I like her MUCH better. BE SURE to make your appt. for very early in the day; otherwise, you'll be cooling your heels in the waiting room for an hour. read more

Dr. Mir is wonderful! She takes the time to listen and works with you instead of just telling you what to do. Dr. Zahir is great as well and I am more than confident that he will provide excellent care if Dr. Mir is not available. Margaret is excellent as well and very thorough. I started out at this office b/c it's so close to home and work. Initially, I saw Dr. Kitay, who was okay but very cold. Never a smile! Then she left and I ended up with Margaret Light, a nurse practitioner. I love her! She has a very calming way about her, and she NEVER acts as if she's rushed. I also like the fact that they don't keep me waiting too long, and I can get my blood drawn there. read more

I really tried to make it work because I liked Dr. Mir, but it's been one issue after another. Visit #2 for kidney infection - they called the antibiotic into two pharmacies so I couldn't pick it up from either until the next day. Visit #3 for pap smear - the receptionist "checked me out" so nobody knew I was there. Sat for 40 minutes in a paper gown until I left the exam room to find someone. The entire time I could hear every word of the patient across the hall - some very personal information which must be some kind of HIPAA violation. Visit #4 was to get my mammogram. Nobody called me with results or posted on the portal, so I called two weeks later and was told I needed to come in and discuss the results in person (very scary for someone with a strong family history of breast cancer). Receptionist told me someone would call me back, but they never did. Called back the next day and the MA said she had no idea why they told me that because my results were normal. Think it's time to find a new "new doctor". Three strikes and you're out, right? read more

I just moved from Northern Virginia and of the things I will miss most is the exceptional care I received from Prosperity Medical. I never felt like a number and I never felt rushed. Although I did have my preference between who I saw, the level of care I received was great no matter who I saw. If you want doctors who will truly listen to you, this is the place to go! read more

My first experience today (2/27/18) and I was extremely pleased. The staff was courteous and friendly. The check in was fast. The waiting time was minimal. I got out of my appointment in a half hour...and without rushing. That is excellent timing. Dr. Mir was extremely nice and was knowledgeable. She continuously made sure that I didn't have any additional questions before her departure from the exam room. read more

Dr. Mir and Dr. Zahir are just mediocre in my opinion. I have been going for a few years and have not found them to be very helpful. It often felt like they were selling something. They are both really nice but I want more than a sub-five minute meeting. My health has gotten worse and it hasn't felt like enough has been done. Yes, you will only have to wait 5 or 10 minutes - or less - but that's because they're not spending much time with their patients. So far I have met with Dr. Oscar Ellison once and was much more impressed and would recommend him over them. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. They are a bunch of crooks. They charged me $100 a month, totaling $1800 for allergy drops. Turns out when I switched PCP they are only $40 a month. In all they took an additional $1000 from me. I have already made a formal complaint to the Department of Health services. Dr. Zahir had me on the wrong dose, and as a result I missed extended time at work. Do not give them your money or your time. They will leave you disappointed. Please, go visit any one of the hundreds of other practices. People like this have no business being in business. STAY AWAY. Dr. Mir is nice, but her husband should not be trusted. read more

This place would get negative stars from me if that was allowed. The front desk staff is very nice and attentive, the doctors seemed fine, but the billing/insurance department is a nightmare. For almost two years, they billed me for money I did not owe them. I reached out to them many times to try to resolve this. The office manager kept telling me that she would fix the issue, but then she began ignoring my calls and emails. The office is so disorganized that they actually sent me to collections and made my credit score drop almost 100 points. It wasn't until I wrote a letter to the head doctor that I got anyone at the office to listen to me. The doctor agreed that I did not owe any money, and she finally got the office to stop billing me. It was such a ridiculous, unnecessary hassle, and I've never been so frustrated in my life. I have good insurance and I always paid all my medical bills on time. The fact that this happened to me is shocking. Avoid this place. read more

I had to call in 4 times to get a prescription refilled that i needed to have filled on the same day. Each time I spoke to someone in the office, I was promised a call back confirming that the prescription had gone through. I never received a call back and when I reached out to my Pharmacy they never received confirmation from the Doctor. I should not have to follow up multiple times for a simple prescription. When I called in a 4th time, they were not apologetic towards my experience and the office manager, Lorraine was "out sick" for the next several days. It is unacceptable to have to do this much work to get a simple prescription refill. read more

Dr. Tarique Zahir is the best primary physician I have ever had (and I have switched 4-5 times in the recent years). Before Dr. Zahir I used to think that all PCPs (primary care physican) are only supposed to give me 5-10 minutes because none of them seemed to bother to discuss details with them or recommend any specialists based on my specific problems, I would have had to do my research on what specialist I should see for my issues. I had heard about Doctors who would "connect the dots" and guide the patients to the next step for managing their issues but I had never seen any PCP do that for me before I saw Dr. Tarique Zahir. I got lucky when a dermatologist (skin specilist) referred me to Dr. Zahir a few years ago and I have been very happy with everything he has done for me. I have IBS, sleep apnea, nasal problems and crooked teeth, and the Doctors that Dr. Zahir referred me to for these issues were some of the best Doctors in the area (some were the best in the entire country). The front-desk staff is also very nice and has always tried to accommodate me when I request for an urgent appointment at a short notice. It is disappointing to see some negative reviews because of scheduling or billing, I have never had any issues with scheduling. Dr. Zahir himself has been kind enough to shuffle his schedule to see me on at least one occasion. I once had a billing issue where the insurance denied a claim so I had to call the insurance to find out that that was because they wanted the Doctor to give them more information. I had to dig further to see exactly what I need to do and it turned out they wanted a different diagnostic code for the service for which they denied the claim. I called the Doctor's office and their billing office to request a resubmission of the medical claim and it was resolved without much headache. read more

Run the other way! This has been without a doubt my worst experience ever. The feeling that I got is that they only want to get as much money as they can out of you and your insurance and they don't feel like they need to respond to you and answer your questions. If you have a billing question good luck getting an answer from them. I've been to this practice twice last year, never went back. The doctor was ok. I felt rushed both times and didn't feel like she was really paying attention to what I was saying but I didn't let that bother me that much. What really got me was being completely dismissed and ignored. I contacted them through their portal cause I got two bills from them and I had questions since both visits were supposed to be completely covered by my insurance. Before going to my appointment I made questions and took the time to read the whole policy that they had on their website at that time. At first Doctor Johnson, whom I don't know, replied to me but didn't really answer my questions. I sensed that she was irritated by my questions although I could be wrong, since I didn't see her or talked to her in person. But since I feel I have the right to know what it is that I'm paying for, I asked again. I said I was sorry to bother her and maybe I was asking the wrong department, so if she could please to point me to the right direction. I was ignored, never got an answer. At first I was naive enough to think she was gathering all the info to help me. And just so I'm being clear, I was very polite, I know what is like working and dealing with people. After that I paid my bills even though I felt it wasn't right, only because I did not want to put at risk my credit. I also sent them a letter to their office, never got an answer. Later I sent a message to the CEO through his social media because I think it is my right to know, but I never got an answer either. At this point, I have accepted the fact that they will never give me a straight answer and that I have wasted my time, energy and money by going to them. I'm just writing this in case I can prevent someone else from feeling disrespected, dismissed and ignored like I have. There are other decent places that you can go. read more

My husband and I moved here from a small town in Colorado a couple years ago. Dr. Zahir and Dr. Mir were recommended to us by our pastors and so we started seeing them for our health care needs. Both of these Doctors truly care about their patients and go that extra mile to find out what is really going on with you. They spend time with you during your appointments and explain what is going on in terms you can understand. In February of this year, Dr. Zahir actually saved my husbands life. He had been sick with a cough for over 3 months and had gone to the urgent care on 2 separate occasions because he was traveling and couldn't get in to see Dr; Zahir. He had been told that he had an upper respiratory infection and had taken 2 rounds of antibiotics for the condition. However, his cough did not go away and in fact it got much worse. Finally in February when he was home, he went in to see Dr. Zahir, who immediately sent him for a chest xray, gave him the medicine he needed and referred him to a specialist because his condition was serious and was not an upper respiratory infection as he had been told by 2 other health care professionals. Because Dr. Zahir cared enough to go the extra mile, my husbands conditioned was diagnosed and he is receiving the care he needs. I can never say enough about this practice. Both Dr. Zahir and Dr. Mir are personable and friendly. I use to hate going to the doctor, because I always felt like I was at a cattle call, and never felt like I got the care I needed because I was always rushed in and rushed out. I have never felt this way at Dr. Mir's office. She is truly empathetic and caring and spends time getting to know you and your concerns and neither one of them will stop until they find out what is going on with you. These two Doctors are the best primary care doctors my husband and I have ever had. We feel confident about our health needs with these doctors and would highly recommend them, and do to everyone we know. So if you are looking for a new Doctor, who truly cares about your concerns and health, you can't go wrong choosing this practice for your health care needs. We love them both and will never be able to thank them for all they have done in helping me and my husband get the care we needed when it was a life situation. read more

I love Margaret Light, but unfortunately this doctors office is so unorganized and the office staff are unfortunately making this business the worst. I went in for a yearly physical two weeks ago they botched something with my blood tests. Someone from another lab called me and left a message that I need to call her back on her cell phone ASAP for another blood test. ... What? I called the doctors office because I was sketched out. It's been three days and nobody is still able to give me a straight answer on what is going on they said something happened with the original sample but Margaret already called and told me everything was fine. On top of that, I went to pick up a prescription and found out they never called it in. Now I can't get in contact with them. They just put me on hold when I call and hang up. The receptionist girl doesn't even wait for you to answer before putting you on hold. They haven't answered my messages either. Looks like I'm going to have to take off work to go in and get my prescription. I will be transferring to another doctor due to this unprofessionalism. It's so sad such bad people are running this office when the doctors are great. read more

I was in need of a regular internist and was hoping to like this place. I generally only visit the dr once a yr for annual physicals. My wife had gone here on occasion and really liked her dr (Mir). I scheduled an appt w/ Dr Zahir since Dr Mir was booked for the next few months. He seemed knowledgable and helpful, answered questions...I liked him. Had blood drawn in house, which was nice, and was told they'd be in touch w/ results if they were abnormal. Overall, I had a good experience w/ the dr to this point. This the only reason why I didn't give them one star. I received a call the next week saying they had my results and needed to schedule a follow up. I asked if anything was wrong and was told it was nothing serious and they would explain when I met w/ the dr. I told them I'd rather do it by phone if it wasn't serious since I didn't want to take any additional time off work. For some reason, this isn't possible w/ this practice. I reluctantly scheduled a follow up only to be told my cholesterol is a bit high...which I have known for a while and had discussed w/ Dr Zahir at my physical since it runs in the family. I was told to "keep an eye on it" and we'd reevaluate at next yr's physical. I was a bit annoyed but wasn't there long so wasn't bothered too much. What did get me was the bill I received for my follow up appt to the tune of a few hundred dollars (most of which wasn't covered by insurance either). When I called and talked to the billing office they were completely unhelpful and dismissive. They stopped returning calls and I basically had to take one and pay up to keep it from going to collections. I do not recommend this place, it's not worth the headache. They will try to nickel and dime you to death. read more
