I was doing some research and was looking at different banks here in the area. I noticed there was a bunch of branches everywhere I was driving in the Bryan/College Station area. I just wanted a simple free checkings account. I wasn't worried about maintenance and anything fancy. I'm old school, just write simple checks to pay some bills and move on with life lol. Anyways, I was with Sabrina who had her own office. She was very patient with me and my 100 questions that I had for her lol. I haven't opened up a bank account in over 20yrs. I was in a bit of a rush because of outside appointments and errands that I had to run before I started work. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. This is a terrible bank policy, and every bank doing it for personal checks should be reprimanded. People need to start standing up for themselves, not letting the banks rule us with our money. A bank is suppose to guarantee their customer's money in their holdings against the checks they write, not exploit who they write them too. I only give them 2 stars for being pleasant while at the counter while taking advantage of me.

I'm with another customer, and I don't know how long it will take!!" Needless to say, we left. Then to boot, I wanted to let customer service know what is going on at this bank. Initially a nice woman took all the information down and said someone would call me. Let's call her "Martha." A day later, (I guess she was a woman from Corporate) called my number. She asked for "Martha." I told her there was no one here by that name. She asked for "Martha" again! I said, "Ma' am, there is no one here by that name." And I hung up.
