Five Star Property and Living!…read more My wife and I moved here in April 2024 from Texas, since our children and grandchildren were in the immediate area. Lisa and Kayla in the main office were extremely helpful over the phone. We made an exploratory visit in February 2024 and fell in love with the floor plan (3 BR, 2 1/2 BA). Now that we've been living here ten months, I simply wouldn't want to move anywhere else! The rent is unbelievably affordable compared to the other apartments we looked at in East Vancouver. The homes are 1 and 2 story townhomes that are connected together. The community is kept absolutely flawless with lawn maintenance, beautiful trees and flowering shrubs everywhere. Every time I take a walk, everything is so perfectly manicured, it feels like I'm wallking around Disneyland. The community has a beautiful pool, activity center and a basketball court. I love having a closed garage, something most apartments either don't offer or charge a hefty fee. There is lighting at night on every building, so it's very safe and pleasant to take walks. All the applicances are heavy duty units, i.e. washer/dryer, oven, refrigerator, sink disposal, furnace, etc. The few small things we've needed maintenance on have been taken care of promptly by our excellent maintenance guys Nick and Matt. The construction is beautiful and solid for being only 20 years old. Brand new roofs were put on every unit this past Spring. Don't be discouraged if you call and there is no waiting list to be placed on. The turnover is quite slow, since once people move in they don't want to leave! We just had a brand new Trader Joes open literally across the street. In that Columbia shopping center we have a Kohls, a Michaels, Peets coffee and others. So many stores and restaurants are within safe walking distance. We have been thoroughly pleased with all aspects of life here in Columbia Place Townhomes. If I could give a rating of six stars, I would!!

It's not a high-end, fancy apartment complex but I've always felt safe, rent was reasonably priced compared to other apartments around the area, and management/maintenance was also responsive to my questions and concerns. The location is by the mall as well as the 2 major freeways and a host of restaurants. The staff usually does one event per month or so and it's nice to go to the office to meet the folks around the apartment. If you're looking to move to Vancouver and looking for a comfortable stay, definitely consider The Grove.

Upon inquiring about the rationale behind the repeated requests for additional proof of income, despite having dutifully furnished satisfactory evidence, I was informed that such actions were purportedly based on a commitment to uphold housing equity rights and to treat all individuals uniformly. Nevertheless, upon further inquiry, a contradictory stance was taken, suggesting a potential consideration of applications on a case-by-case basis. This inconsistency reflects bias and undermines the principle of equal treatment for all applicants, thereby creating a perception of discriminatory practices against me. In light of the aforementioned circumstances, I am compelled to pursue legal counsel to address the apparent prejudicial treatment I have encountered during the application process. The actions taken by the involved party not only present an impediment to my business relocation efforts but also indicate a prejudiced evaluation that infringes upon my rights. Through my application process, move in, and since I've been living here I've been impressed by them all and happy this is where I moved to. The units are cute, community well maintained, and I never hear my next door neighbors. I am grateful to be a tenant here and even more grateful to have the staff here. It makes a huge difference, often not recognized as much as it should be. A good PM team can cultivate a great community, as seen here! KUDOS!

Yes, if you're under a toddler who runs around all day you can probably hear them. Yes, there's probably dog poop ( I haven't seen any) but there's nothing they can do about that. Now let's talk about the real things people look for in apartments: Price- nearly the least expensive in East Vancouver. Parking- AMAZING, this is one thing I've never seen at other complexes. You get a carport free of charge and there's a plethora of additional parking. Management- Phenomenal! They're responsive, kind, and a lot of other complexes the management will either never answer the phone, take forever to reply to an email, or post that they're on lunch for three hours. Maintenance- quick, respectful, and I trust them Appliances- All of them are name brand, whirlpool, hp, etc. and function as if they're brand new! I previously lived in an I remodeled unit and it was nice, yes the colors scheme was dated and it had definitely been well used by previous tenants, but it's an apartment and that will be the same anywhere! I now am in a remodeled unit and it is STUNNING. Everything is brand new and is very nice quality! Jess in the office is amazing and helped me so much while moving in! Thanks Jess and Monterey team!

If you have an ESA: DO NOT APPLY until you've managed to (somehow) get approved by "PetScreening"…read morefirst. I am incredibly bummed and sorry to have to leave this review however I feel it necessary to warn others with a similar situation as ESAs are common, and I've never had such a difficult experience. I applied here, and was approved for the apartment. However after applying I was informed that I needed to go through PetScreening (3rd party service) in order to get my ESA letter and cats approved. PetScreening does not have a phone number, their reps are either AI or told to deny almost everything and they lie. They do not bother to verify your ESA information. Upon researching, it sounds like this is wildly common for PetScreening and may have had a few lawsuits over it - which doesn't surprise me. The office was unwilling to review my ESA internally after I asked twice, and they reminded me that if my ESA wasn't approved then I would have to proceed without (and pay their pet fees). So as you can imagine, we've gone our separate ways. Thankfully they saw reason and refunded me the $200 hold fee. That was the least they could do. This experience incredibly disappointing and distressing. I was really looking forward to living here. These apartments are lovely, the location is perfect, and the area looks well maintained. But this is insane. The same ESA document was accepted at the new place that I'm renting at without issue. So, one has to ask: What gives? More, it makes me sincerely question: if The Monterey is like this for ESAs, something that should be protected by the Fair Housing Act... What else are they attempting to skirt legal boundaries with?
