This review is for 1100 Adams Ave, down the street from the address of this TLC building…read more As a student who previously attended TLC's Connections, I can give you a brief, expressly subjective review of one of two halves of their school dedicated to teaching and connecting students, as opposed to their other half meant to rehabilitate violent or behaviorally challenged students. I attended for seven months - from May to December of 2022. To state the core of the problem without being facetious, the function of TLC's Connections program is to babysit your child until the end of the day while passing the façade that they are actively attempting to teach your child and inspire them to make positive connections. If your child does not have the disposition and inherent want to put themselves in a better place in life, this program will not help your child. On the same note of importance, I have witnessed two outright fights, and multiple small scuffles occur with very little staff interference. If a fight does break out, students are more likely to intervene and break up a fight in the same amount of time that staff members take to scatter around and find someone willing to break it up. This place isn't the worst for your child's well being, but it isn't exactly the best. And yes, I have only stated my worst experiences, because the best experiences I've had at this school were those moments of peace, connection, and growth, which were rare in this school that advertises those very ideals to be abundant.
