I was hit by a progressive driver on May 14th(it is now June 18th as I write this reveiw) and I still have not received my settlement payment of 9600$. After calling today, ive been calling everyday for weeks now and speaking to other agents bevause my adjuster has been out of office for tbe last two weeks, her supervisor as well. Anyways today they tell me oh no we can only give you 8k back now because you have had your rental for too long and that cost is coming out of your settlement payment and the lady's insurance only covers a total of 10k. Excuse me? I could have returned that rental 2 weeks ago if my adjuster had of done her job correctly. It took her a WEEK after my car was deemed totaled to let me know it was considered a loss, a W E E K, mind you I called her multiple times a day before that along with waiting 2 weeks for car seat reimbursement. Once she tells me the car has been deemed a total loss she then sets up an appointment for us to drive to Warwick, RI (an 1+hr drive for us because thats the closet office) to sign papers AND get the settlement check on Friday June 13th. We drive all the way to Warwick to be told "no you need to just sign these papers which allow us to the rest of your loan off and then you'll get a digital payment." Okay cool, its now June 18th and after three days of Progreasive waiting for a letter of guarantee from our lien holder(who said they faxed that paper back to progressive on that Friday we signed it at 5:15 pm). It took Progressive TWO days to recieve/find that fax(June 17th). I was then told okay we got the letter now I can issue the payment. Guess what the payment never comes through. I call this morning and talk to another agent because again I cant get ahold of my adjuster and everyone who's been helping me are just other claim agents. Now tell me sorry there's a limit and we xan only give you back 8k that's why you didnt get the payment yesterday . I'm now told we can take the 8k, or we can pay the rental bill of 1200 and get 9400 back OR restart the process with my insurance and have them "make it whole" and go through Geico instead. I am absloute beyond pissed at the way Progressive has handled this claim and lesson learned don't ever go through the other person's insurance, go through your own especially if that person has Progressive. read more

Absolutely horrible Absolutely horrible. I got a policy and then 6 months later got into a crash. The claim agent assigned to me didn't respond to my calls or emails for a week. They told me to take pictures of the accident on their app and I followed their directions to take good ones only for them to tell me I had to wait more because the pictures weren't enough. They ended up refusing coverage because of a technicality-a mistake I had made when applying for the policy (a mistake which was to their benefit because I had to pay extra because of it). Even after refusing coverage and saying they should never have given me coverage because of the policy I made, they refused to refind me the over 1,000 dollars I paid. Huge scam. I then heard from some acquaintances about their nightmares dealing with progressive and how it's know among expects that their MO is to find any tiny way to squeeze out of paying a cent. read more

I have been with Progressive for 3 years going on 4, so much for loyalty! My car was stolen and before it happened my monthly payments were only 280 and now they want me to pay 1,985$ a month are you kidding and the renewal 5,000$? How is this even realistic for a freaking hyundai? They are over charging more than what the cars worth in the end. They dont car as soon as you make a claim they try to do anything to jack up the price so you can leave! Especially with this stupid theft thats going on everywhere and now you dont want to cover the car? Dont blame the customer blame the manufacturer and its funny because they are going after hyundai to get the funds back that they spent to fix my car plus my deductible back but what for if you still are turning your longest customers away? I already had an appointment to get my brakes done at Toyota so Progressive called Toyota and set it up for the damages to my vehicle to get fixed also and got me a free rental. Progressive Auto insurance have the worst claims department , the claim reps and adjusters attitude are incredible , the shop's estimate doesn't mean anything to them , they pay and repair what they want , even the bodyshops don't want to deal with Progressive , they don't like to use original equipment parts but after market scrap , beware they are not good at all. read more

Progressive Auto insurance claims customer service is HORRIBLE. Expect NOTHING from them. I have been a customer of theirs for over 15 years, never had to make a claim until now, and what a nightmare this has been. So many secret stipulations and hidden policy footnotes that never came up when discussing and updating my policy. My auto body repair man wished me good luck because the rep that came to the shop knew absolutely NOTHING about cars or what she was doing!!!!!! NOTHING!!! she knew almost nothing about the process, something my mechanic has been doing for YEARS, but she was in charge of evaluating my vehicle. Moreover, the person assigned to my claim has been SO RUDE and will not follow through with any task she has promised me doing. I know times are hard and lot of qualified people aren't getting paid to do these jobs, so we are left with untrained, unequipped and unhelpful people on staff. Progressive must not pay skilled people enough to do this job and thus i am getting what i pay for. My policy is up for renewal and i will not be staying with progressive. Called for Roadside assistance on 3/5/2021 at 630 pm. As of 730 pm no one from the company supposedly hired to help me with a flat tire had even called me. Further, they claimed they couldnt find me because Progressive had given them the wrong street. I had repeatedly told the Progressive agent that I was on the side of the highway, NOT on some neighborhood street. Then when I called at around 715 - having finally spoken with the hired tow company - the progressive agent on the phone tried to give me attitude because I was originally told the entire thing would take an hour. But I was attempting to convey that the hired company didnt know where I was. Progressive told me to wait- it hadnt been an hour yet. When an hour passed neither the hired tow company NOR progressive would answer any calls. For a half hour. Finally I called AAA, had to start a new membership, and they got it done in a half hour. Its complete and utter customer service malpractice on progressives part. I got all kinds of texts with surveys about my "experience" but no one could call me back! Progressive agents should get real jobs more suited to their skillset like being janitors or streetsweepers. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID. These people have one plan and that is to rip you off. I never expected to be treated so horribly. It was one step above kicking me in the face, or shooting my dog. First I had to come to their drive-in location. I've never done that. I'd always brought my car to a shop I trusted. They made an appointment for me right away, I arrived early and was seen promptly. The woman, Jaime, gave me a low ball offer for the repair, handed me a check and an estimate, which did not come even close to the two shop estimates I'd been given. I asked them to look at the other estimates and she refused at first to look at them. I was handed a check and I explained this tiny amount 1/2 to 1/3 of the two estimates I had would not begin to cover the repairs. The girl told me over and over again I could keep the cash--they seemed to want me to pocket this payment. I asked her again to look at the other estimate, and she glanced at them and handed them back to me. I was never given an explanation. I felt intimidated right from the start. I was forced to go to the cheaper body shop feeling that I would not get a proper repair. I told her I would take my car to the lower of the two places which gave me estimates and she agreed to arrange a rental car, and told me their estimator would go to the shop and work with the body shop that week. Both body shops told me I could save some money if I provided a new door. I was hoping to use the savings to defray the cost of some rust repair on the other side--a totally separate quote, which I'm glad I did not have done. I dropped off the car with the other "spare" door in the back. I did not know I was supposed to bring the estimate with me. I thought that was the insurance company's job to handle the paperwork, and they told me the would send over a rental car and that they were sending an adjuster over to look it and work with the body shop. He never came. After 5 days I got a call that my car was ready and had to pay for it myself. The door was painted but it was not blended with the two adjacent panels. I called the insurance company and they told me it was my responsibility--I am still not sure what they felt was my responsibility? Hand over the paperwork to the body shop? Why? I thought this was my copy. In the past I've taken my car to the shop and the insurance company did all the negotiating and paperwork. Sometime they pay me directly, or the other option is the pay the shop directly. The point it--it is their job to fix my car and pay for it. They didn't do that. I discussed the fact that I forgot that the drivers door mirror was damaged with the main office and they told me the adjuster would take care of that. I had to drive back to meet with both the adjuster and he told me that since I didn't mentioned it at the first view of the car that it must have happened later. He would not allow for it. He made a three hour adjustment to the cost. The body shop told me they just replace them, then the told, just glue it back on. The insurance adjust would not even look at it. He said it might have come off the other car, and I said look at it--it is the same as the other side. The body job guy explained that he moved it from the original door. The pattern is one person says one things and someone else says something else, and you get screwed. Nothing is in writing and they don't stand behind their word. The plan is screw you over and do it in small steps. Think of it like getting kicked in the face every day for a week or two, if you want to know what it feels like. They lead you to believe one thing and then do the opposite. I'm still out hundreds of dollars with this. Additionally, I've never felt so insulted in all my life. I'm a very calm person and they seemed to enjoy the fact that they could push my buttons and make me blow a fuse over and over again. I think they get bonuses for the number of times they can make a customer melt down. I have filed a BBB Complain and am now going to fill out a small claims action against them and take them to court. read more

progressive direct . car insurance company is the worst company that I have ever used for car insurance besides the fact that it's 700 every 6 months for the bare minimum coverage, I paid by bank card debit/ credit for 6 months the first time they said your payment was excepted,1 month later I get a cancelation notice by email, so I freak out and call up , they end up taking my card number down wrong ,so I give them the number again, and this time ohh! We wrote a different number down, ok so this time the same was said your covered and payment excepted! so ... A month goes by and I get another email saying I'm getting canceled .. so I go to the bank to see what's going on and they said they withdrawal the money but then returned the payment two times,why I ask ? they don't know ! so I call progressive insurance again and give them the same number on the bank card this time they say ok your payment excepted! your good! so thinking they have all my info because they asked 100 questions before the first payment in the determination period to see how much they are going to charge me/ rob me! for coverage another month goes by and I get another cancelation notice! so I'm freaking out now again, and call them this time they say oh its not a money issue it's an underwriting thing! A what , I asked ? underwriting! so they switch me over to underwriting and they say now we sent you an email and you didn't respond ! ok maybe because the 30 to 40 emails before we're nothing but spam filling up my memory on my computer! so they say we'll we have a policy with the state to get the other drivers info like social security number date of birth ,name age where they work what size shoe, on and on and on,! even though they have nothing to do with the person they are insuring or the car that is being insured, I said they don't drive my car never will, they have their own car and insurance, that info has nothing to do with my coverage nor is it any of my buisness to give out that info, they say we'll the state wants to know this info and if people in the house are covered! and they want copies of her insurance card! so I said what the he'll is the DMV? that's the state ! and I'm pretty sure that the get a copy of insurance when we register the car , so why are you bothering me with this nonsense ? DONT GET PROGRESSIVE ! they suck ! and the stupid SNAPSHOT bulls hit is a joke beeps when they think your driving too fast and if you stop more than 7 m ph a second ! I have a 5 speed standard and this stupid devise is distracting me when I'm driving and makes me want to not use my brakes! so , take your money some where else and do yourself a favor! here is another case of government sticking there noses in places where they shouldn't stick it! And government and big buisness making it harder for the little guy , wasting tax payer money for info that they already own! I was in a accident and it was the fault of the Progressive client. They contacted me. Explained the entire process told me where they were located and asked what time and day worked best for me? I showed up a hour before my scheduled drop off. They gladly welcomed me in looked at the damage to my vehicle had a rental ready for me told me they would call within 24-48 hours explain what needed to be done what was to be replaced what could be fixed and a day I could pick up my car. Everything fell in to place as they promised ahead of schedule. In my humble opinion they provided world class customer service and I have no idea what happened to the other three people who posted poor reviews. I believe that every insurance company can take a note out of Progressives book in fact I am seriously considering dropping my carrier for them and their home and auto. My hat is off to you! These guys are horrible. Some guy ran a red light and ripped the front of my truck off. I called his Insurance which was Progressive. I was routed to these guys in Milford. I spoke with a Woman named Michelle. She tried to strongarm me into bringing my truck to their authorized service center. When I told her I'd rather just go to a local autobody shop, she got pretty nasty. They sent an adjuster to my house and he low balled the estimate. The truck needed $1300 in repairs and he assessed the damage at $400. They never bothered to call me about the car rental, so I had to call them. They have only answered the phone one time out of maybe a dozen. When I was at the car rental place, the guy told me that the lady from Progressive was really rude to him as well. They also tried to put me into a sub-compact for the car rental and when I mentioned it to the Progressive Supervisor (via email of course), he denied that they had done that and couldn't understand why they would say that they had been told to rent me a sub-compact. I'm just glad that I got my truck back. The nightmare is over. read more
