    Damage to the rear of my 2016 Ford Focus.

    Where do I begin? I was involved in an accident on 02.02.2026 and it was deemed the other party's fault. My claims adjuster finally got in contact with me on 02.21.2026. I told the adjuster that I wanted to take my car to Caliber Collisions here in Los Angeles for repairs and he said that it was ok because they are in network. I took my vehicle to the body shop where it sat for about a week and a half. Progressive estimated the repairs to be $3038.82. The body shop countered with approximately $5k+. Progressive went silent for some time with multiple attempts to contact the adjuster. Weeks later I receive a phone call from Chad Brown from Progressive and give him a call back. Brown tells me that they're deeming the car a total loss and asked if I can go to the body shop and collect all of my possessions from my car and release the vehicle, which I do, the same day. Once again, weeks go by with no word so I contact the Brown again to see if they have finally reached a decision regarding the value of the car. He tells me that the adjuster, Carlos Ardon was working on it and that it should be done in "day/days," yet here I sit almost two weeks later with no answers. Frustrated still, naturally, I have to get another car, so I purchase a newer car. I was paying $126 a month for my 2016 Ford Focus and due to the accident even though it wasn't my fault, it goes up to $150. So, frustrated, I start shopping around for new car insurance and get a quote from Geico for $153 and some change instead of $182 and some change. I call Progressive to see if they can beat or match the Geico quote and they say that they can't. Once this month is up with Progressive, I'm switching over immediately to Geico. I will never do business with Progressive insurance ever again. My 2016 Ford Focus was being financed and I'm still responsible for the remaining balance which is approximately $7k which means I'll still have to pay that monthly payment along with the new car payment that I have all because they're sitting around doing nothing to get me paid the value of the car so that I can figure out what will be left to pay. I'll be impatiently waiting to hear about what my options are when or if they are ever presented to me. Buyer beware. And always remember to have GAP insurance which is what I thought I had through the lender.

    Hit and Run drivers' vehicle that caused the accident and  PROGRESSIVE POLICY HOLDER. The driver fled scene and lefr his female companion.

    Update: Monday June 30, 2025 Received a text message (unprofessional) from Progressive Auto Insurance today. Get this, after a month and 10 days, the adjuster has now decided to order a police report?! Folks, due to the negative reviews relative to Progressive and their 'Bad Faith's actions; I filed a claim on June 29, 2025 with the State of California Insurance Commission, and will also file a complaint with the Department of Justice. Progressive has willfully stalled my claim. Four Adjusters and no resolve. Enough is enough! May I suggest that those of you dealing with Progressive, report your complaints to your state insurance commission.

    Always had a good experience with AAA in the past when it came to roadside assistance. In this case…read moremy car is at a service center and I needed it towed from one location to the other. While at work I set up a tow truck with AAA to do just that. I spoke with an AAA representative to ask what needs to happen since I am at work and still need to pay for my cars services at the Kia Service Center. We arranged for the tow truck to get to the service center at a time I'd be able to have gone down and paid by. From there no other issues, he said the tow truck will get there and tow to the new location. I confirmed that I did not need to be there, he said no I did not. I go to the Kia Service Center to pay my bill, and let them know that AAA will be coming soon, they said no problem, have them ask for Robert who will take care of everything. I texted the AAA service line, asked for an agent, and let them know that when the tow truck gets to the Kia service center to ask for Robert. They said they will pass that info along. Hours later I thought it was strange that I never heard anything in regards to my cars tow being completed, or even started. So I called AAA and they said it was cancelled. After they looked into it they said the driver couldn't find me and my car. I told them they were supposed to ask for Robert as indicated by my text. They said they see the message but I had to be there. I told them that was never stated ever during my multiple in person and text communications. I had told them that I couldn't be there and was told that is not a problem. And now it's a problem, which I understand the policy as to why I would need to be there, HOWEVER if they would have called me when this happened I could have solved this issue by going down there or arranged another tow truck to come if that one couldn't wait 10 minutes. Now because AAA never let me know and I had to call them to see the status it is too late in the day and I will have to be without a car yet again and lose credibility with the service place I was moving to by ensuring them my car would be there today. I am beyond frustrated with the communication AAA has failed to give me and update me.

I asked them for a simple task of refunding an overpayment because of a policy reduction to another card or send me a check and they said they could not do it. It had to go to the original card. I no longer have the card, which was closed almost a year ago. They told me to call the credit card company. I asked to speak with a manager and the resolution specialist informed me someone would call in two or three days. Stonewall, stonewall, stonewall. I never received a call back. I think it is time to find a new insurance company!!

Our own insurance company Wawanesa was surprised by Brent Johnson (Sr. Inside Claims Rep for Liberty Mutual) and Tara Costa (Team Manager) attempts to convince them that the accident was no ones fault. Even more shocked by Brent Johnson's failed attempt to explain how they came to that conclusion. We were assured that if an independent claims adjuster was hired, they would rule that Liberty Mutual Insurance policy holder TLG Medical Products and their driver Deymon Darnell Owens were at fault. We must assume that this must be normal behaviour for Liberty Mutual and that Brent Johnson and Tara Costa sole responsibility to their employer is to reject all claims that need to be paid out. Are we correct?

I mostly spoke with Winston, who's positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile has really solidified my loyalty to Melissa's agency. There were two examples in particular that were impressive: First, when I added my wife to my auto policy, there was some trouble with keeping my "experienced driver" discount because she is from Japan and doesn't have a long history with an American drivers license. Winston worked with the underwriters and was able to convince them to let us keep the discount. Second, when I started the process of purchasing my condo, I called Winston to ask about a new policy even though our escrow closing date was still about a month away. He apparently made a note of the escrow closing date, and he called me that morning to setup my new policy. Buying a home was a stressful process, so it was nice to feel confident that my insurance was taken care of.
