Profresco is a fish market on the north side of Peniche away from tourist traps. It's a casual but clean restaurant with nice sunset views of the ocean. The service was good and seafood was amazing. The platter had a wonderful shellfish selection which was exciting even if some might feel strange to consume. They house cocktail was delicious as well. Highly recommended! read more

We rented bikes from down at the waterfront on our first full day in Peniche in an effort to see the entire peninsula in all its glory. It was a mild, Spring day, but we did find ourselves warm as we biked the 6.5 miles our the perimeter. On the northern edge of the peninsula, about 2.5 hours into our stop and go bike journey, we came across Profresco and the fish market there and had to stop for our break. We were so glad we did too as the food was fresh, the water was cold, and it was a beautiful lunch experience. We ordered an octopus burger and a seafood burger - both came with finely cut, fresh fries and the seafood burger also came with a garden salad. Soo good. Went here four years ago and found it again via yelp on our recent trip. Tons of fresh caught fish on ice. They cook and prepare it for you with salad and potatoes for 7 euro. Best grilled fish I have ever had and up there with best meals too! read more

We spent a couple of days down around the coast when we went looking for a seafood restaurant and found Profesco. Similar to several seafood places along the Portugal coast, this is both a seafood market and a restaurant together. As expected, the menu consists of a large selection of seafood choices and various methods of preparation. I chose an appetizer of a whelk salad, which is sliced conchs in olive oil and vinegar with parsley and onions, for my main course I selected the Tuna which came with a bread stew. The conch salad was very good and tasted excellent. The tuna and bread stew was also awesome and prepared perfectly. My wife split the lobster rice with her sister, another great choice as this dish is prepared for two people. Excellent portion sizes and seasoned to perfection. Service was very good and they were attentive to our requests. Highly recommend this place and reservations are recommended. read more

Great seafood location. Menu has some typical items. I chose the octopus burger which was amazing. The view in the restaurant is beautiful. They have the option to choose your own catch of the day and cook it for a price per kg. Staff was friendly and spoke a decent amount of English. read more
