Spend some time in a car in most any city, and you're gonna get an idea of where their heart lies. In Santa Monica, palm trees and juice bars. In Houston, the very concept of asphalt itself. In Branson, MO? It's all about Jesus and mini-golf. Professor Hacker's Dinosaur Canyon (I'm calling it "Dino Canyon" from now on) is one such contribution to the putt-puttian zeitgeist, and it is a hoot. Its name is half-right; while there is no canyon (but there is a rad volcano thing, it is riddled with dinosaurs, most being extremely, lovably derpy. If you dig a leisurely stroll through campy terrain, you'll love Dino Canyon. The golf itself is nice but not exceptional. Sadly, the dinos are mere window-dressing, not actually incorporated into the holes themselves. There are two courses: Raptor and T-Rex. We chose T-Rex as we were promised stairs and a slightly more challenging course. I wouldn't call it a challenge (we scored 49 to 47 on 18 holes), but it is nice and fun and we'll-designed. The price is pretty swell. A game for two adults is about $25, and if you keep the scorecard you can play the other course for $5.50 each. Also, a hole in one earns you a free game! Heck yeah. The bathrooms, holy smokes. So clean. Seriously, hold it 'til you get there. You'll be glad you did. If you're in Branson, don't go to a show. Go to Dino Canyon. read more

The greens run fast with what seems to be brand new felt on them as there isn't a blemish on them. We really enjoyed playing all 36 holes of mini golf today. Wonderful min golf course. They feature 2 courses Trex and Rapture.. Trex includes stairs just fyi. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. They have some deals with other courses if you save your card and receipt. Also if you happen to get a hole-in-one on a mystery hole you get a free play which is fantastic. My family has been here twice on visits to Branson because we LOVE mini golf. The course was busy with visitors, even at 10pm. There are two courses to choose from, so we took the T-Rex course. The course was a nice mix of easy and difficult holes, with lots of fun scenery. There is even an "active" volcano in the middle of the course that scared the cheese out of us! This is the most elaborate mini-golf I've ever seen. The life-like volcano spits out fire that can be easily felt on the ground. To start, it is on the expensive side but provided a good hour of entertainment and I can see how the course would cost some money. If you have kids and they want to 'play' but you know they'll lose interest, they can play with the plastic putter and then it's free. This was great because our son didn't really grasp the concept. One of the coolest miniature golf courses we have tried. Elaborate mini golf seems to be on every corner in Branson. This one was so much fun. My husband and I enjoyed our time here immensely and I even beat him! They have a volcano that shoots out fire and makes a loud noise. They also have a ton of caves to walk through and 2 with actual holes in them. If you go to this one, you can go to their sister location for half price within 7 days. read more

Came here on a pleasant Monday evening with my family and we had a lot of fun here. The guy at the counter was very friendly and was glad to make our experience great. There are 2 courses here and we did the T-Rex course which is the more difficult of the two. Overall the place is very nice and the theme was very cool. Branson has a couple of great mini golf options, and this is one of them! The dinosaur theme is so fun for kids, too.

This is a pro course. Almost every final green is uneven. What might look easy suddenly becomes very difficult. There are two courses here, both are hard. You'll get used to adjusting your putt for an uneven putt, and still somehow miss. The volcano goes off at an unknown time and a mechanical t-rex will also go off. The greens were new at the time of this review. Don't take small children to this course unless you want to see them somewhat bored as this course is very difficult. They also have a volcano hole that has a plateau on it. This is probably a hole that everyone will get a six on. There is a downhill figure eight hole that if hit just right can be aced. Overall if you want a challenge this is your course. read more

While mini golf is not my thing, the kids love it. This location had 2 courses - our kids chose the T-Rex. It included several level changes and stairs. The kids enjoyed the sights and beautiful weather. We did have a coupon for $1 off each round. It was a bit pricey, but it was the place they chose. read more

Fantastic mini golf course with a dinosaur theme. There are two routes you can take, the Raptor course or the T-Rex course. Only significant difference is that the T-Rex course has lots of stairs. We opted to do the T-Rex course because the line for it was shorter. On a summer Tuesday night there was quite a crowd there, and with multiple groups in excess of 6+ players, we did average a wait time of 5-10 minutes between most holes. However, it didn't really detract from our experience, maybe if we were in a hurry it would have. The attendant, Rowan, was very friendly and helpful. The course was very well themed, with various dinos. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the T-Rex chasing the poor explorer up the volcano! The volcano also occasionally shoots out fire, so when you hear the rumbles get your camera ready! Each hole offered unique challenges. However, our only complaint with that is on multiple holes, no matter how lightly you hit the ball, the ball WILL bounce out of the course and there is a significant chance it will be lost. Hole 17 of the T-Rex course was the worst offender, with every single players ball bouncing out of the course if you send it down the hole on the right side. Overall we had a great time, and prices were comparable to other area mini golf. read more

I feel like this place has maybe seen better days. None of the animatronics work and there is nothing interactive on the courses. We tried the T-rex course one night and it was pretty decent but we kept looking for the animatronics to engage. Nothing. We thought maybe the animatronics only fire on the other course (the raptor course) so we took advantage of their special where you can bring back your score sheet and get a discount on your next game to try the Raptor course. This one was very difficult and almost no one in our party of 6 was able to score well, and still nothing moved, shot fire, shot water, growled, etc. I think the place needs an overhaul. The T-Rex course was more fun but lots of stairs. I would pick a different mini-golf next time. read more

Yet another mini golf review because it's a traditional thing for my family in Branson MO since I was little. Not as good as there treasure island one for sure but it was pretty cool definitely challenging. Just like the other one you can select two ways two go T-Rex and pterodactyl the T-Rex being harder and it was. Also just like the other one if you get a hole in one on a mystery hole you win a free game of mini golf in this case my family got two on the mystery hole and these coupons are good year round and you keep the ticket in seven days time it's half off on either course. All in all I would go to treasure island instead of this one for it's more detailed and more fun overall and it's longer. Also the train ride to the course is cool on the other one. read more

We decided to pick this putt putt golf location as it looked pretty fun. They had 2 courses one with steps and one without. We chose the one without the steps. This is the first one ever we have been to that does not have a par for the holes. Each hole is kinda the same. Two of which are very difficult. Amazing enough, you can feel the heat from the volcano when it erupts. We thought it was fun. But they really need to add the par on each of the holes. read more

We played the T-Rex course and really liked it. A quick word of advice about the two courses offered here... The T-Rex course takes you all over the place, up and down stairs a few times, steeper inclines, and might be challenging for some with disabilities or mobility limitations. I would have to say if you're trying to decide on which one to go to they are pretty much the same thing. Loved both. This is a very clean mini putt course. It is kept up very well. We visited both dinosaur canyon and lost treasure , I liked the course at dinosaur canyon better than lost treasure. But I liked the set up of lost treasure better. Dinosaur canyon does have dinosaurs all over the course and a volcano that spouts fire ( it puts off some heat as well ) however at lost treasure you ride a train back to the beginning of the course and there's all sorts of neat stuff on the course and it's right near the Ferris wheel ! read more

This is probably one of the most difficult mini golf parks in Branson. There are two courses; the T-Rex and Raptor. They both go through the WORKING VOLCANO at least once (the T-Rex goes through twice). The only difference is the T-Red has stairs. I enjoyed golfing at Dinosaur Canyon again this year...but this time it seemed a little expensive. There were 2 of us and we had a coupon for $1 off each player but we still paid about $9 each!
