We were on vacation in Playa del Carmen, Mexico in October, 2017 when I purchased a ring from this store.. A man walked up to my husband and I and said that he'd recognized us from the resort, in fact, he was the waiter at our table in the restaurant we'd eaten at (we didn't really recognize him), and that his family had just opened this jewelry store this past weekend, and he'd love it if we would go into take a look. He showed us these rings with "special stones" from Mexican Cenotes, and showed us that the color of the stone changed in different light. After some back and forth, we decided on a price and purchased the ring.
When we got home, I wanted to get some information about my new ring and this stone from the cenote, only to find there is no such thing as a stone from a cenote, and that the whole thing was a scam, and that the people who tell you they work at the resort know that because of the wristbands we wore, showing which resort we stayed at. The stone is just a special glass stone that changes color in different light. The only real value of the ring is in the silver, if it is in fact silver at all.
I'm on my third attempt with my credit card company to dispute this charge. The merchant have you sign a receipt that states "no cash refund only merchandise exchange" and that's their way of getting around a refund. I'm not giving up on this and hope everyone who reads this review will STEER CLEAR OF THESE SCAMMERS. read more
