I'm not the biggest veggie eater, but LOVE me some fruit and cannot wait for peach season, which is the end of July for the Philadelphia area. Some of the other things I like to get here are... Local Honey, flowers and veggies to plant, flavored vinegars, gelato is a nice treat and so are MomPops. The chocolate here is outstanding, I just can't afford it. I've heard the meat is also good, but I've never tried it. It's frozen from what I can tell and I'm usually looking for something I'm gonna cook soon! This is not the biggest farmers market, but there are usually 12+ stalls and every now and then a food truck shows up. They should make that food truck a regular thing!

There used to be a Price Rite down the road a little, but it was replaced with a hair supply store, I think. This farmer's market carried a lot of fruits, vegetables, spices, snacks, and juices. I have always enjoyed coming here, and even though I have moved to another state, I still try to come here as often as time permits. The customer service is great here, and I appreciate that everything is laid out and easy to see.

Informed me that unless it is spoiled will not compensate. They purchase the pudding from a third party and put in their containers, the person must of seen the disks and put in container any way. The double egg fold over cushioned a double weight sausage patty and double American cheese slices, with a fresh soft roll bracketing this major opus. It was a joy to eat. Very easy to forgive any confusion when the finished product makes your day! It was substantial and delicious. Mark it down on the short list of excellent local breakfasts. Too bad it is in the farmers market and only open three days a week. But, I did load up on goats milk and kielbasa from the other vendors while I was there. A Fantastic Area to Explore for Food, Shopping, and Movie & TV Fans!…read more We had a great time exploring Philadelphia's Italian Market! Even though the weather wasn't the greatest during our visit, we still really enjoyed wandering around and checking out all the different shops and vendors. One thing we especially appreciated was how much of the market area is covered, making it much easier to explore without being completely at the mercy of the weather. There are SO many cool places to check out here, particularly if you love Italian food and specialty products. One of our absolute favourites was Claudio! We ended up buying a bunch of pasta and other amazing Italian items to bring home. There was so much we wanted to try, and it was one of those stores where you could easily spend a lot of time browsing and filling up your shopping bags. Another fun part of visiting the Italian Market was seeing some iconic filming locations! As huge fans of the Rocky franchise, it was awesome seeing the spot where Rocky runs and gets tossed an apple. We also loved finding the location associated with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where Charlie eats an entire pear, sticker and all! These little moments made exploring the area even more entertaining for us. We also met a lot of really nice merchants along the way. It's always great when the people running the shops are friendly and welcoming, and that definitely added to our experience. Overall, we really enjoyed the Italian Market. Between the delicious food, specialty shops, friendly merchants, and fun movie and TV connections, there's plenty to see and do. We could have easily spent even more time exploring! If you're visiting Philadelphia, we'd definitely recommend adding the Italian Market to your itinerary. Come hungry, leave yourself time to browse, and bring a bag for all the delicious Italian goodies you're bound to find. Claudio is especially worth checking out! You basically start at Fitzwater Street near Angelo's Pizzeria if coming from Center City. It ends somewhere around Passyunk Avenue near Geno's Steaks. It was initially established back in the 1880s by South Italian immigrants, but I think most people would agree that the businesses are presently more diverse. We saw Mexican, Honduran, Nicaraguan, Thai, and Vietnamese businesses alongside Italian and other more generalized European markets. It was a planned visit for us. I just had to try South Philly Barbacoa and Anthony's Italian Coffee House. We also saw the infamous line of people waiting to place their orders at Angelo's Pizzeria. Along the way, there were many colorful murals depicting the history of the street market as well as many delivery trucks with fresh produce. That's really the big draw to this area. There were many locals buying produce, meat, cheese, and imported grocery items. It doesn't stop there. Make sure to take a little detour along South Street as you're walking back to the city center. There's public art everywhere including Isaiah Zagar's Mosaic Home, Alley of Murals, and Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. You could pretty much spend an entire afternoon in this part of the city. Don't pass it up when visiting the City of Brotherly Love.

They display all of their baked goods on the table with descriptions.
