Mrs. Tedra's individual attention, warmth, and encouragement made such a difference in his confidence and social development. She also recognized his love of art and encouraged him through creative projects, helping him develop his interests and abilities. Ms. Megha is an excellent director and a wonderful leader for the staff. She is attentive, approachable, and genuinely responsive to the needs of both students and their families. We were also very pleased with the curriculum. The teachers taught our son letter sounds and introduced phonics, helping him begin to read CVC words and develop a strong foundation for literacy. Each month, the children also explored a new theme--such as sea animals or dinosaurs--and our son learned so much while remaining excited and engaged. This is just a small example of everything he learned during his time there. Many families choose to keep their children at Dana Point Montessori for several years, which speaks volumes about the community they have created. Our son attended for two years, and we plan to have him return this upcoming summer. Hear me out -- I feel extra qualified to make this bold statement Bc we've tried it all. I read all the books and blogs about how to best support my firstborn when I had to go back to work full time (and you've probably felt the same agony about nannies vs au pairs vs daycares). We did the nann(ies) route for a while but it's honestly just hard to find the perfect person. We then decided to look for a daycare and I feel like I toured all the ones possible to find in laguna beach (where we lived at that time). Again, I felt like I had to compromise on kind of major issues (one place tried to sell me on how important playing in literal dirt is for kids and others had frazzled teachers) but I was getting desperate. We decided on a place but after weeks of my son coming home covered in all that dirt, I realized that I was paying way too much money to be this disgruntled. I spread out my search and found MBMA a decade ago. And it is perfect for us. The teachers truly love my kids (and it's not just lip service; we can all can feel it). The space is a Montessori (and IG) dream in its simplicity, airiness, cleanliness, and peace. They have a perfect mixture of independence and loving nurturing. And it feels safer than a lot of other schools bc of their security systems/fence. We've had all 3 of our boys attend and couldn't be happier. I rave about this place to pretty much everyone I meet:). Let's face it -- it's not easy to find a place you can recommend this highly and all parents who need help with childcare realize that who you are entrusting your child's day/education/upbringing (they see them almost as often as us!) too is critically important. I was a little worried about how she would adjust since she'd been home with me the entire time but they cared for her so well and now at almost 17 months she's comfortable to the extent I usually have to convince her to come home and that we'll be back the next day. Within the first month, she adjusted pretty well, learnt how to nap independently, started walking, became comfortable around other people, and now her language is expanding and she is learning new words every day. She can eat independently too with hands and even with a spoon and fork. I'm really impressed with her growth. I appreciate their curriculum, they are structured, they have art, playtime both inside and outside, and a fun summer program keeping the kids engaged and experiencing new things. All the teachers are so kind, warm and caring and you can see it in the faces of the other children. This was actually our decision point to bring our child here, when we did the tour the kids were so happy and just being kids playing. This sealed the deal for us. They are great about providing daily feedback on food, mood, and any challenges. Also, the schools hours are so accommodating for our dual-working parent household. He's transitioned to the next room so smoothly: ie. Group lunch and naps. The playground and garden are some of his favorite places to frequent. Even their holiday programs are so wonderful. She mentions about great things teacher taught her, how much she loves teachers and put teachers' names in her birthday party invite list, and how lovely her friends are from schools I am lucky that I have found the most trusted place for my kid toddler life. It becomes part of their childhood and part of your family's life. I absolutely love the teachers. They have always been so kind, patient, caring, and loving with the children. I never had to worry when I left Ulyana in the morning because I knew she was in good hands and surrounded by people who truly cared about her. She was happy to come to school, she learned so much, made wonderful memories, and grew from a little girl into a confident, curious, school-ready kid. Marina View Preschool has been a home away from home for our son, who was there for 2.5 years. In his time there, he flourished not only academically but also in his social-emotional skills. Our son made deep connections with his teachers and classmates. The school runs a tight ship in their policies and practices which ensures the school is properly staffed and the children are safe and properly attended to. We toured many different schools in the area and Marina View stood out for the location/safety of the campus, their open door policy and how happy the children looked when we visited! Our son loved his experience there and misses it so much! It was a school where he felt accepted and safe to be himself. The school has cool events and activities throughout the year.
