I am dreading this review. Not because I don't want to sing the praises of Dr. Nordin, on the…read morecontrary, he is a great physician (hence the 5 stars) No, I am dreading this review for the simple fact that the more word gets out about Dr. Nordin, the harder it will be to make my annual appointment. I guess I am kind of a hipster when it comes to Doctors. Once I see a bunch of rich high school kids with Dr. Nordin's business card, I will probably go somewhere else (jk) So let's get down to brass tacks. What makes Dr. Nordin so special? After all a physical is a physical, right? Wrong. Rather than grab your walnuts, make you cough, then demand a 50 dollar co-pay, Dr. Nordin takes the time out to get to know his patients. Half my health questionnaire was about my hobbies and habits. These inquiries, however trivial, can give any GP a better view inside a patients daily routine and possible health problems that may underlie a daily routine. Literally the first 10 minutes of my physical was getting to know me as a person. I found this remarkable in the US internal medicine world where doctors are paid in quantity of patients and not quality of outcomes. We then went over my labs. Turns out my bad cholesterol was low but so was my good cholesterol. I promised I would eat more bacon. He recommend fish oil. Actually, I take that back, he didn't just recommend fish oil, he instructed me on the nutritional content of the best fish oils and which ones were rip offs. He also said to call his office if I had a question about a particular brand of fish oil. I also said I was having sleep problems and he got me an appointment with a pulmonologist in the same week. I am overweight but my labs are all great. Having seen this he didn't brow beat me for being overweight but rather said keep doing what you are doing. This was great because I can't stand being brow beat by medical professionals. I have lived in several different cities and Dr. Nordin is by far the best Dr. I have ever had. I highly recommend making him your GP.

Dr. Brown is the most caring and compassionate Dr. I've ever met. If I could give 100 stars, I…read morewould. In a world of rushed, unpersonal, and uncaring Dr.s, she stands out as an example of what a doctor should be: caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and personable. She makes you feel as vauled as a family member. She truly takes time to get to know each patient and ensure she not only listens but truly understands patients' symptoms and concerns. Rather than just writing a prescription to mask the symptoms, she is dedicated to finding the root cause and the plan of care that will best solve that problem. She perfectly balances her doctorates in traditional and natural medicine to meet the needs of the patients and find the path to healing and and optimal health. She is incredibly thorough and detailed in her approach to caring for her patients. Several members of my family are Dr. Brown's patients and they all leave their appointments beyond impressed with Dr. Brown's knowledge, compassion, and dedication to each patient. She is well worth the price and any potential wait. The fact that she doesn't accept insurance, while unfortunate for personal finances, is actually a good thing. Because Dr. Brown doesn't work with insurance, she's not ruled by them. This is why she can care for patients as they need, not as the insurance companies deem "the cheapest approach". If you look at your last co-pay bill from a doctor's visit, you'll see those appointments are billed at THOUSANDS of dollars. Dr. Brown isn't paid by insurance, so her prices of $895 for a new patient and an average of $350 for follow-up appointments (based on complexity), are incredibly reasonable. This is also why she can spend more time with her patients-- without insurance setting their typical limits (see X amount of patients daily and each appointment can only be 15 minutes max), Dr. Brown can dedicate the amount of time the patient needs for each appointment. This is why Dr. Brown's shortest appointment is an hour long, with some scheduled for as long as 90 minutes. Dr. Brown is so dedicated to her patients and ensuring the highest possible care that if a patient's needs exceed the scheduled appointment time, Dr. Brown stays until their needs are met. Dr. Brown prioritizes the patient in front of her. She looks at the whole person: life experiences, each system of the body, and their daily quality of life. There's no other Dr. as thorough, caring, or knowledge. You cannot get a better experience or meet a more dedicated and caring doctor.

Everything was fine until I asked for an increase in a medication she prescribed to me for years. She increased it per my request. Having stressful things going on in my life, I ran out. When I had a problem and ran out, she put my life at risk by stopping the prescription. Her office staff kept on saying that Walgreens had a refill, and they did not. In other words if you have a problem that she contributed to, you are done. My last visit was over $500. Told her that Walgreens did not have a refill. She acted like it would be taken care of, and so did her office staff. It was not taken care of. When I called to tell her office that Walgreens never got the request for a refill, they required another appointment and more money to discuss it. If Dr Brown no longer wanted to precribe the medication, the professional thing to do would be to discuss a taper plan at my last appointment, and not risk the health of a patient. Abrupt discontinuation of this medication is known to cause seizures. I had to find a doctor who cares, after wasting over $500 on my last appointment. It all seems to be about making money, and not about the best interest for the patient anymore. I am very disappointed. I am thinking that I may report this incident to the State of Wisconsin, as this incident could have been life threatening. They never offered my $500 back after not refilling my restriction, even though they said they filled it. I am elderly, and really feel that I was mistreated and disrespected. All over Dr Carol Brown forgetting the oath she took, and her love for money that interred with her truly caring about my well being.

I've been here before so that helped, but seriously, it took less than five minutes. Give these ladies a raise! The last time I came here was in 2014, and I recall that being a pretty quick deal too. I think it helps when you have competent workers who know how to use the Aurora linked computer system. If you show up on time for your appointment everything will run smoothly. Don't be late! The waiting area is extremely large for this place. Every time I've come here there has been maybe one or two others waiting, but there is seating for 40 or more. It is clean, quiet and the chairs are actually comfortable. I didn't notice a television but there were a ton of magazines to read in case your phone battery goes dead. If you don't fancy reading, you can just stare out the windows and watch traffic go by. It's not a bad view on a sunny day. All the nurses and doctors here are professional and very kind. They understand that discussing your internal anatomy can sometimes be embarrassing and difficult to talk about. You don't throw around vagina's in general everyday conversations. Unless you do, then way to go. But for the general population it's an uncomfortable topic. They get it. Don't be scared. If you can't talk about it with professional lady doctors, who can you talk about it with? I have never had anything but discreet courtesy from these women and every one has been very forthcoming with helpful advice when needed. The nurse I had today was very funny in fact, and we made each other laugh. Eases the tension. If additional blood work is needed, they do have a lab on site, which I think is cool. Saves a trip. There is no direct entry to the lot from Ryan Rd, so you have to turn in to the business park like you're going to Culver's and continue around until you meet the lot for the pavilion. There are a couple of other businesses in this building, but the Women's clinic is on the side that faces Ryan Rd. If you need to get your bits checked out, and have the choice, I'd recommend coming here.

Dr. Chaudhry continued to monitor my progress and finally sent me home. I felt 100% better. This is the only Urgent Care to use if you live south of Shorewood.

Please, let this old man have a modicum of dignity, even if, or especially if, I'm coming in here for something uncomfortable. The biggest problem is Aurora's pecuniary greed. You'll be treated fine if you've got the right insurance, but they want to make very sure you do have insurance. Then after your visit, If your insurance doesn't cough up their share with adequate alacrity, or if you wait a couple of weeks to pay your share, you'll be sold to a collection agency faster than falcon diving on prey.
