CJ's is a quaint little salon in Haile Village. The location is quiet and adorable, with tree-lined…read moresidewalks just outside and plenty of free, on-street parking. The salon is well kept and cozy: with two small rooms, it feels less like a "hair salon" and more like a friend's house. It has never been crowded or too busy when I've been there, which I like, and the stylists don't get interrupted every 5 minutes with phone calls or walk-ins, so you feel like you really have their full attention. Also, they offer complimentary drinks (water, coffee, soda) to sip during your service. I've seen Mindy Johnson there several times. She is hilarious and fun to talk to, plus she always does a great cut on my unruly hair. (I have fine, wavy hair, but a lot of it, and she is able to tame it into a cut that works for me.) She listens to what I want but also has helpful suggestions to help me not always get the same old cut. She's fast (I'm always done in under an hour) but accurate, and she does a great job with bangs. Plus, you can book appointments with her online through StyleSeat, which is great if you have a busy schedule. I highly recommend her! I'm not sure on CJ's nail services, but I have loved all of my haircuts here and have made it my go-to salon. Also, the prices are competitive: a shampoo/condition/haircut/blowdry with Mindy is $30 (before tip)...hard to beat in Gainesville!

Disappointed in the service given their great reputation. I got a gel x manicure for my grad pics…read moreand not only were they really expensive, they were not done well. She did no cuticle prep at all, she didn't clean up the excess chrome on the side of my fingers, and there was a ridiculous amount of gel left under my nails. There was so much gel that when I got home I used my nail drill to take off the bulk of it. They also started lifting after less than a week and fell off within 10 days. There were also deep grooves in my nail beds aka rings of fire. For paying $70 + tip for a service I expect it to feel like a $70 service and it did not. Really disappointed, won't be going back.

When I was first introduced to Enso last year, I was immediately a superfan. Upon entry to the salon, you will be too. Wonderfully curated in the terms of decor and team, you're immediately in-store for a feast for the eyes and spirit. Decorated in a peaceful, bohemian style, each part of Enso seems like it was considered before their doors opened. From the beautiful wall mural to the wicker chairs, each piece of furniture seems like it was handpicked! There are also such classic touches as vintage linen cloths used to dry your hands after washing them. Soooo classy! You won't find paper towels here! Enso thinks of all the ways they can continue putting love back into our earth and healthier options for us all, including non-toxic polish options! When I say that this is my top choice, second choice, and third choice for my pedicure in town, I'm not joking! So many other local salons don't take the time to truly make the experience stand out, you may often feel rushed or even disappointed when you leave - not my experience at Enso. From the first impression upon entry to the awesome menu of Bubbly options, to the 5-star service with prices that rival other options that are not on the same level. Located in the buzzing, and peaceful location in the Town of Tioga, even the parking lot feels lush! If you're making plans at Enso, it's a great time to treat yourself to a post-pedi lunch as they've got great neighbors! So if you're a person who "good isn't GREAT enough" for you when it comes to your nails, beauty appointments, location, and experience? You may want to check out Enso!
