The house itself has a good structure with all major components having been replaced in the last year. I had several Contractor's bid on the project. I decided to go with Granite Mountain located at 14027 W Illinois Hwy, New Lenox, IL 60451. I dealt with Mark and Michelle, who are not only knowledgeable, but honest. They captured what I wanted, helped me pick my selections from their showroom, and kept me updated throughout the whole process. In Mark's words, there are many moving parts-that need to come together on time- and he made it happen, having staff here every day for the duration of the project. Each day I was impressed at the progress made, as well as the fact that I was able to live here, due to how clean his staff kept it. Mark timed everything perfectly. The whole house now has beautiful LVT flooring, all new oak woodwork throughout, 6 panel doors, trim, window casings, jams, fireplace mantel - all stained to the color I chose, beautiful granite and quartz countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, all smoke damage cleaned and painted, backsplash tile in the kitchen and beautiful kitchen soft close cabinets. Granite Mountain made what was a huge project, not only fun, but an incredible experience. I highly recommend using Granite Mountain for any home improvement project you have.

Easy to please and motivated... So so I figure a courtesy call would be a good idea since I don't want to refer people to poor vendors. It just reflects badly on me. Well, I call ask for a manager and Tony suggested I just talk to him. I tell him my story as best I can because all he wants to do is interrupt me everytime I try to start a sentance. So I shut up and let him talk while he tries to tell me the customers could have been the problem and how he needs specifics so he can address them "properly". What an idiot. I I let him up put a few Choice words and told him it was the last referral he was going to get. No wonder Home Depot and Company putting these idiots out of business. Do yourself a favor. Don't even bother with them. You'll thank me later. And maybe old Tony will figure out the best sales tool is open ears and a closed cakehole.....yeah, probably not.

They tore the place down to the studs, updated the room's plumbing and electricity, installed a hardwood floor and built custom cabinets that match the vintage of our prairie-style house. Mike worked closely with us from start to finish, helping us design the kitchen and select appliances and materials. More recently, we very gladly had Mike and his crew back to remodel our basement, which was last finished back when I was born a half-century ago. Once again, they tore the place down to the studs, updated the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems, and brought to virtually level the floor, which had an unmistakable 6-inch pitch toward the floor drain. Once again, Mike helped us design what we now refer to as our lower level (it's too nice to be called a basement). With both jobs, Mike worked to save us every inch of floor space and (in the basement) headroom. He approached our house as if it was his own home. He regularly checked on the work personally and kept us up-to-date on progress and next steps. He was very responsive when we spotted problems (which was seldom) or had questions. We'd have Mike and his skilled tradesmen back to do another job, if we had one to be done. We couldn't be more pleased with the work they did for us! Mike is patient, knowledgeable, and extremely conscientious, and his workmen are the same. Plus, they all have a good sense of humor!

I would never recommend this company. We hired them to finish our basement and upgrade our…read morestairwell and they did a terrible job. among other things, they framed a doorway but left 8" shims on the inside which support it, they trimmed a stairwell but it's not level nor did they finish a bottom edge, the baseboards don't meet at the corners/edges, a scuttle doorway was finished on the outside sans door knobs but it's all raw edged drywall on the inside, they hung doors but didn't provide door knobs, etc., etc. In addition, they didn't come prepared and had no idea what was going on when they got here. If I had more energy and time, I should have sued them. Instead I'm writing this post so you don't make the same mistake we did.
