The shop owner (David) ignored me as I tried to explain the problem, and how to resolve it. He was dismissive and rude as I made every attempt to describe the issue. I sufficiently explained EXACTLY what was wrong with it, but he legit blew me off. It was weird. He insisted on the key and then he said he'd call. So I gave him the key and waited. After 30mins, my buddy drove me past the shop to see their progress. I visually could see that it was resolved! But the mechanic hadn't called me yet. Clearly he was milking the clock. Then when I went to pay for everything, he charged me $25 for a completely unnecessary diagnostic fee. So I confronted him about it. He said: "You told me you didn't know what was wrong with it. We had to run a diagnostic. It's standard." Nah, bro. I told you EXACTLY what was wrong - I even showed you. He argued with me, and even tore up the receipt in the office saying: "Fine, don't pay for it!" I was in shock. Bottom line: this is not someone with whom you should do business. Incredibly disrespectful, emotionally unhinged, and thoroughly deceptive.
