BE CAREFUL WHEN HIRING THIS COMPANY - TAKES ADVANTAGE OF THE ELDERLY - DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS…read moreWORK. On 11/17/2023 Jake Lowe owner of Oxymagic, cleaned my carpet. He pretreated the carpet prior to cleaning it with a hand-held sprayer. After he was finished it looked great. He told me I could walk on it immediately, but it would take approximately 30 minutes to dry. I did not walk on it until a couple of hours later. When I did, the carpet felt sticky and stiff like it had a film on it. My feet were filthy after walking on it. When I touched the bottom edges of the sofa, loveseat, bedroom dressers and the bottom of walls and doors, they also felt like there was a film on them. I washed the film off immediately after discovering it. Thankfully it had not damaged any of my furniture. Also, there was a blue line across 3 of my dining room cabinet doors. It appeared as though the equipment might have been up against them and discolored the paint which is light green. He did not tell me he was going to spray anything inside of the house. My bird and dog were in another room, which he had seen. Even though he claimed it was not toxic, he should have never sprayed without telling me what he was going to do. I told him I had to move my pets since he was spraying. He never stopped spraying while I was trying to get my pets out of the house. I called and left a message that same evening & texted him 4 times before he finally responded 3 days later. Instead of calling he texted me after I texted that I had stopped payment on the credit card. He offered to fix the problem. I told him he could look at it, but I was going to hire someone else to fix the mess that he left. His response was the carpet was clean when he left but he or one of his technicians would stop by the next day to see what was wrong. No one ever has shown up and his final response by text to me was "there were no marks left anywhere and he did not spray anything on my furniture & said: "YOU ARE A LIAR". He has never offered even a partial refund or said that he was sorry. I had to hire another company to clean up the mess that he had left. I sent the paid invoice to Oxymagic to prove to him that I was not lying. No Response. After trying to stop payment on my credit card, he kept sending the credit card company his invoice with no explanation. As a result, they could not stop the payment. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They made several attempts to contact him and he never responded to them. I am elderly on a fixed income, Medicare. Paying for another company to actually clean my carpet has made it very difficult to pay my bills. I feel that he has taken advantage of me. He obviously knows how to get out of refunding any money to his clients and does not have conscience.

I hired oxymagic to clean my custom couch as we just relocated to Florida from California. Upon…read morearrival, the technician was very polite and prompt which I was very grateful for. Before he started to clean, I notated that my couch was custom made and the type of fabric could be a special type, and to PLEASE read the couch tags, to be certain his process won't ruin the couch. After less than 5 minutes of him applying the solution, he points out a very large stain that he is not able to get out and said he does not feel comfortable cleaning any further and asked if he could leave. We told him, we didn't want him to do something he felt uncomfortable doing and told him to have a nice day. Once I did more research, I was able to contact the designer and she let me know that my type of fabric, is classified as "S" which means you can ONLY dry clean and /or use dry solvent to clean, that water will absolutely ruin the couch. The owner, Michelle, was kind enough to call me back today to address the problem and was even nice enough to send the tech back to perform an "extraction" process that would rectify the damage. The same guy showed up and told me he was going to do exactly what he did yesterday but this time was going to make sure he removed any and all water, I told him that water cannot be used and to not worry about trying to fix the mistake. I called Michelle back and this is where the whole situation and interaction went south. I sent Michelle pictures of my couch from the night before, showing her there wasn't a stain, she then accused me of sending her a catalogue photo of my couch and that I was a liar and that I was trying to show her a "fake" picture. I took it as a compliment that she thought my living room looked like something out of a magazine, but as she continued to tell me, the home owner, that the couch her technician cleaned was not the one in the picture was insulting and completely unprofessional. I never once asked for reparations or money to get it done correctly, I was just hoping she could fix the HUGE mistake her technician did. Her choice to belittle me and accuse me of lying was appalling. I warn anyone that wants to use this company. If you have nice furniture that should be treated with caution and professionalism, DO NOT, contact this company, unless you want to have your furniture ruined and character discredited.
