After my father passed away I decided to sell the house and only thought of one person to call...Jill McGovern, the realtor who helped my dad buy the house 13 years ago. She came by the house to get an idea of it's value and then taking into account the current state of the housing market she thought we could get a lot more than I ever imagined. Even more than Zillow thought it was worth! The neighbors thought we were crazy, but wished us good luck as they would benefit from increased comps themselves. We signed the paperwork and she got right to work. There would have to be some improvements before listing. Painting, new carpets, deep cleaning, etc.... I was relieved when she said she was trying to keep the work to only what was absolutely necessary to keep my expenses down. The great thing is that Jill has a huge network of people to get the work done. She's got a painter. She knows a great carpet guy (Sal, who was awesome and got me a GREAT deal!). She's got a cleaner she likes. All these people have worked with her for years and not only did they do a great job, they didn't break the bank. The house never looked better! Jill took a lot pictures and listed the house. We immediately got a couple offers and she was able to figure out who serious and who was REALLY serious.
