She is wonderful and her services are priceless. "I was very nervous that I wouldn't feel supported and empowered throughout my pregnancy/labor, so I searched for a doula very early in my pregnancy. I was lucky to really click with the first doula I interviewed. She ended up being such a crucial part of my entire experience! Matt and I were talking earlier about how I wasn't sure what to write to you because I have a difficult time even expressing how amazing and important she is to me. He wanted me to mention to you how much our doula helped him as well. Doulas are definitely more than just a birth coach for the mom! He felt really supported by her as well. I decided that an unmedicated birth was the right choice for me and she did help me accomplish that goal. However, I know she would have been fully supportive either way. I think a good doula should be focused on helping you feel in control of your labor and birth experience, regardless of their personal labor preferences. Our doula really helped us prepare for Madelyn's birth, but was extremely helpful during the labor as well. Matt said that he loved having her their to reassure him if he got nervous. She also helped rub my back when his hands were tired. For me, I loved having a woman there to tell me she understood when I kept saying how hard it was. Our doula was with us at our house and stayed right by my side for the entire labor and recovery. She didn't even leave until after I had showered and settled in the bed to sleep. When our family was focused on snuggling Madelyn, she was helping me with my first trip to the bathroom. I never even thought about that and it's not very fun, so I was grateful for her! Basically, my labor experience was wonderful and life-changing thanks to our doula and Matt. I hope that helped in some way!"

I got to meet a lot of other strong minded women. I was told that the place was originally a mansion. We were served breakfast, lunch and dinner by the hard working people. We had our room serviced each day. The place is quite and I had the opportunity to see it snow. How amazing is that. They provide coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day. They have that pebble ice. The have a small gym but enough to get a workout in. They also have a store for you to purchase merchandise swag for our union. I haven't really explored the premises but I'm sure I'll learn more when I go back in May. They have a security (front desk) 24/7

The out right negligence that the has been exhibited towards my children has been a outright disservice to them. If you have a choice do not send them to this school. Previous IEP records were presented and not read, IEP procedures took almost an entire school year to be put into place despite my request for evaluations at the very beginning of the school year. After moving to another school district it was presented to me that my son was in need of and eligible other services that were not being given to him at Piney Point. This administrator has also not been compliant with our new school's efforts to obtain paperwork and refuses to talk with professionals from the new school who genuinely seem willing to help my children. If you have a choice just don't. I truly wish I had not.

From our very first conversation, she made us feel informed, confident, and truly supported in our goal. She was incredibly knowledgeable about VBAC, helped us prepare both mentally and physically, and always reinforced our belief that this was possible. During labor, her presence was grounding and reassuring--she knew exactly when to offer encouragement, physical support, or quiet reassurance. She advocated for our wishes, helped us navigate decisions with confidence, and created a sense of calm in such an intense and emotional experience. Her steady support played a huge role in helping us achieve the birth we hoped for. Postpartum, her care continued to be just as invaluable. She checked in on my physical recovery and emotional well-being, offered practical newborn care guidance, and helped us feel confident as a growing family. Nothing ever felt rushed or transactional--she genuinely cared about our experience and our transition into postpartum life. Regardless, I lived my days in this school alone because it's so full of cliques that you are either in the crowd or you are living your life alone essentially. I never had any opportunity to have any girlfriends either because I was never given any opportunities to talk to ladies in my class. I honestly don't think the administration tried to discourage the cliques because they made us all wear fancy clothing on Wednesdays for their chapel and yet they never once preached on fellowship or talked about it in the morning studies. Also, they're very strict sometimes about rules so many of them that it's essentially dependent on whether or not your teacher plans to give you a demerit because there's so many rules you will get sent for anything even if it's just a bad word. Even in high school one bad word will get you sent to the administrators office and you'll end up explaining your life away while your classmates have fun. It's way too strict for a Christian school and provides few opportunities to learn the kind of classes that public school offers. Parents please remember at least the last thing that your kids aren't going to be the same educational opportunities that they'd get at the local public schools so you definitely have to see the pros and cons on this one. The teachers are okay don't get me wrong but a school charging for tuition should be thinking of what they're going to do to allow at least the same opportunities as a public school. T

This school has high parent participation and even encourage it by offering tuition discounts. My son started pre-k here in the 2012-2013 school year. Not only did he have a low student-teacher ratio (14:2) but he even had access to an amazing resource teacher. My son had started the school year slightly behind his classmates but by the end of the year he was exactly where he needed to be. Do not let the price of this school discourage you, because it is worth every penny! My husband had reservations at first about this school but after meeting the teachers, and seeing our son come home excited and loving his teachers he was put at ease. In the pre-k class my child has learned to write, count to 100 (to include skip counting by 10's and 5's), sign language (in fact during their concerts the kids would sing and sign their songs), some Spanish, learned about the caterpillar life cycle, helping at the school, the value of life, Jesus sacrifice. They took multiple field trips to learn about animals, strawberries, the pumpkin patch. You will not find more loving or caring teachers than at this school. The principal is even involved and would play the ukulele for my sons class while they learned songs about the alphabet. If we were not in the military my son would absolutely attend this school until he graduated high school. However I am 100% assured that my son was provided the very best beginning.

St…read more Mary's College of Maryland holds their annual Mulberry festival which was the vision of President Tuajuanda C. Jordan, every year on the eve of Juneteenth, the day (June 19th) commemorating the emancipation of all enslaved in the United States. Originally created in 2019, the inaugural Mulberry Music Festival featured a gospel theme and featured chart-topping recording artist Jason Nelson. I had no idea and love he's right here in MD leading his congregation. Some of Southern Maryland's favorite food vendors were on site for the festival and it was fun looking at what they had to offer (see pics) Some added mulberry infused treats like mulberry freeze dried candy, mulberry lemonade and mulberry cocktails to their menus. Icy Bites served Italian ice that was prefect for the heat. Calvert Crabs served a mulberry cocktail and you were able to add the Mulberry syrup to your drink of choice. Menu for Heidi's Eats & Sage Treats featured some Korean favorite dishes as well as BBQ bowls. Cousins Maine Lobster Truck was on the building and I was surprised up see them. I did to to them because I'm sure I would have purchased and it wouldn't have been cheap lol. Dumpstaphunk closed out the trio of bands and were great. My cousin heard they were coming to little old St. Mary's county and couldn't believe it. He made us go and we truly enjoyed ourselves dancing the evening away.

Weird such a progressive school is so backwards when it comes to the philosophy behind its policy's. Derek Young among countless others maintains this conservative philosophy as an institutionalized barrier against student progress and advancement by holding 5+ positions when he can't even pretend to fill 1 adequately. The school under hires and struggles to keep a work force but 'makes due'. They ignore student issues, skimp on safety measures and pretends that parties don't exist because that looks better on stats when in fact there are parties half the week with no safety or accountability protocols in place. 10/10 a truly beautiful campus with a great student body, but would rather pay out lawsuits then prevent them from happening.
