If you haven't stopped by this park before, please note that parking fills up fast-especially on weekends and holidays-but it is worth it. Nestled in a residential area of central north Fresno, this park has something for everyone. If you want to throw a party, there is a sheltered picnic area that you can use. I highly recommend that you reserve the space through the City of Fresno, as it is often booked. There is an ADA accessible path, a water feature that meanders through the grounds and can be very refreshing in the hot Fresno summer. There is a sand play area, swings, see saw, climbing structure and a lovely park path that overlooks a ponding basin filled with fish, turtles and water birds. This particular basin has a small island with large trees that are often filled with white cranes and other birds. The park grounds offer quiet benches under shade trees to sit for a while, grassy gently sloping lawns that are great for frisbee or other family activities. This is also an amazing place to find a ton of baby geese in the spring....super cute! I've seen folks relaxing and flying kites here....playing ball, and just enjoying being off screen and outdoors. Check it out, if you haven't already!

They are super friendly & will eat out of our kids hands. There's one picnic table , a bench and a bbq grill in the playground area. The restroom is usually clean and located near the playground. There are two picnic tables near the restroom. There's a giant canopy over the playground which is nice during hot months. There's one big group picnic area with five or six tables/benches under a cover with bbq grills. It's nicely shaded during Fresno's hot summer . This group picnic area is a first come first serve basis . No reservation required. The city does a good job keeping this park clean and well maintained. Yard crew comes to mow the lawn, pick up dead leaves and the trash. They also keep the restrooms clean. One of the swings was broken so I called the Park and Rec Dept. I wasn't expecting them to come out and fix it anytime soon because it was during the New Years holidays. Much to my surprise, the swing was fixed within a few days of the phone call I made. So I called them back to thank them and a praise of a job well done to the supervisor and she was pleased with her team. Made her and my day. Teenagers who come to play basketball here are polite and nice. People who bring dogs here are friendly as well. Parking is big and there are two lots. The sign says they close the gates at the parking lots at 10 pm. I've seen them locked sometimes but not everyday. The basketball court is nicely lit till around 10 pm.

That is a rarity nowadays and I love it. There are a couple different play structures so the kids are not stacked on top of each other, and the shade barriers are nice as well, especially in the summer time and the basketball court is good too. Fenced in so kids can't ruin a game or a ball can't go to the playground and hit someone, so that's actually a nice plus. All around a great place.

There's a space that looks like it's for Tennis but there's NO net. And there is a sign on the court that says: "Pétanque Courts". We came here to practice before my daughter's tennis tournament at Fresno State since it's only three minutes away. We're not from the area, and this was called Cary Park Tennis court. Do NOT come here expecting a tennis court. We had no extra time to find another place, so we just stayed here and had her warm-up as best she could. The plus side was the bathrooms were clean. We got here at 8:15 in the morning and it looked as if they'd just been cleaned. They are chained open.

Gettysburg Ave. It is situated between two tennis courts (that are adjacent to one another) and a skate park. The park sign says the hockey rink is open daily from 6am-10pm, but the Parks and Recreation individual opens the gate to the rink at 8am and closes up around 9pm. It's a large rink, a bit worn out, trash in some places, can use a bit of sweeping, minor cracks that disrupt stick handing a puck at times, and there are a few slick spots from liquid spills. Other than that, it has a smooth cement floor, two large heavy duty hockey goals with netting, painted lines, player's benches, and the lower half of the boards are white painted wood and the top half is metal fencing. There are also functionally bright lights to turn on when it gets dark.

Seems like it's usually pretty calm and there wasn't many people when we came. There is a bathroom but it has no doors on the stalls and it looks like they hose it down in the morning. So make sure you all use the bathroom before you leave the house. Bring a basketball too because there are courts to play. There is also a tennis court and plenty of room to kick a soccer ball or play catch. The play structure has a lot of monkey bars so it's good for climbing and swinging. There is a big slide and the floor has wood chips for a mostly safe but for sure scratchy landing. It's fun for the kids to get to see the train pass but it's super loud so the babies may not like it.

Over the years there have been shootings and other crimes so just be alert and aware of your surroundings as with most places. There's tennis and basketball courts, a baseball field, fenced in kids playground equipment, some tables and benches and at least one barbecue (nothing shaded) and restrooms nearby. The park itself isn't anything special and it can get fairly dirty from people's trash. Even though it's riddled with duck poop everywhere, I would recommend going to Oso de Oro over this place. At least if you have smaller kids who like play equipment and you want shaded outdoor seating. Sometimes I like to walk here and let's just say that I've seen some things. A lot of people for some reason like to drive up, park and sit in their cars for some odd reason which makes me suspicious. I only come here in the daytime. Sometimes people will get out and smoke which seemed a little odd to me that they'd come to this park to just stand around and smoke for a few minutes. One time I walked here after Pokemon GO had just been released because there's a Pokespot and I saw a couple of cars parked in the area. I got excited thinking maybe they were playing Pokemon GO, but as I got closer I smelled the weed and figured out what they were really doing. lol Today the park was empty because it was 106° but I did see another guy pull up, park in the shade, roll his window down and sit in his car for like 20 minutes. Not sure if he was playing PokemoN GO or not since I didn't feel comfortable approaching. An ice cream van came by and entered the parking lot at a snails pace. He stopped and parked for several minutes in front of the other car. It was quite creepy since there were only 3 people in the park including me. I just like to stay alert. I did see a bunny in the playground area, but it ran away.
