No music blaring, which allowed Ricky and me to have a great conversation about pretty much everything: Shakespeare, marriage, "Better Call Saul," The Velvet Underground. Love this place! Been a client of Ricky's since he was at Eddy's in Coventry. The new location at Van Aken is great- nice place inside, easy parking, great spots for a coffee or beer afterwards. Ricky's been great with my hair, which was long when i first met him, though we've since chopped it off! Super laid back guy, checks in to make sure the cut and style is what I'm looking for, and always does a thorough job. After seeing him regularly for a while now, he really knows my hair and what i need to do to make it look the best, suggesting things i had not thought of before. I've been going to Eddy's Barbershop since they opened their Coventry location. I had never had a regular barber until then, but now I refuse to go anywhere else. Chuck is an artist. I have several cowlicks that have proved difficult for barbers / stylists in the past. Chuck always knows how to handle them. Without a doubt, I get numerous compliments every time I get my hair cut. Chuck is also super personable and seems to live what he does. I have also had my hair cut by Patrick a couple of times when Chuck has been booked. Patrick is an awesome barber and a solid dude. And for damn good reason. I have horrible hair to cut- straight, thin, cowlicks. Unforgiving hair. I've had three serviceable barbers in my life, but chuck has been the best. He can actually manage this mess, I know it's not easy. On top of that, you couldn't find a nicer guy. He's got a calm, friendly demeanor. Always takes a moment to welcome his clients. This was simply the worst hair cut I have ever gotten. Other barbers at this shop might be better, but my hair cut with Kate was inattentive, careless and perfunctory. I arrived for my appointment at 6:30, sat right down, she asked me one or two things about my hair, then took a phone call, scheduled multiple appointments, came back, spent about five minutes cutting my hair, asked me how I liked it, I was incredulous that she might have already finished, she shaved my neck, and was done. I paid and was walking out of the door and it wasn't even 6:40 yet. $30 for less than 10 minutes and a lousy haircut at that. Eddy's? No thanks. read more
