She needed special cream that could only be prescribed by a dermatologist and not by our ped. The only problem - there aren't many dermatologists who accept such young patients and everyone we called had a super long waitlist. I called Rutgers Health desperately in October and their earliest appointment was for January. Fast forward two weeks later, a receptionist called and said she had an opening in one hour. She told me she remembered my call and that I had a four month old who needed help. We grabbed our bags and ran out the door! Dr. Amy got my daughter on the right cream and we continued to visit her for months to get skin checks. She helped put us on track with the right moisturizing regimen, bathing schedules, foods to avoid, allergy testing, clothing material to wear and avoid, what to sleep in, how to wash clothes and so much more more. When your child has severe eczema there are so many lifestyle changes that you need to make. We didn't know about any of this and were so grateful for her help. The best part was her confidence. She spelled out exactly what to do and exactly what not to do. There was never a moment of second guessing, which is all we had been doing since the onset of my daughter's eczema. Almost two years later and my daughter is looking great. Of course she still has her flares and tough skin moments, but day to day her skin is under control and we are in such a better place. When we took her in she had oozing weeping skin, staph infection and a case of eczema that was considered nearly as severe as it gets. When I think back on that time, and the progress we made after seeing Dr. Amy Pappert I could cry. She is truly a miracle worker!

They misdiagnosed a melanoma, tried to cover it up with excuses then harassed about billing. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. I would NOT recommend using them.

While I…read morethought that Jennifer Zimbalist, PA-C, was pleasant and knowledgeable, the office staff misplaced one of my daughter's referrals resulting in an issue from the start of my experience. I paid our copays, received an invoice for one daughter a month later and received an invoice for myself and my second daughter two months later. Both invoices and remaining balances were paid promptly. I continued to receive invoices and calls with the threat of collection for the first invoice paid. After calling and receiving horrible, rude services from the billing department, I sent certified letters regarding my complaint to the doctor (who responded immediately) and the billing department. Although the doctor addressed my complaint to the office manager, she never responded. It took several more months of calls to her to finally stop the incorrect bills. Much to my surprise and disgust, 6 months after I paid my own invoice I began receiving calls and invoices for an outstanding balance... that was in FULL. I have been promised that this will not happen again however, no matter how good the doctors, I will never go back to this business because of the hassle and stress it has caused me over a span of 8 months.

The receptionists were nice and starting off seemed like it would be a pleasant experience. The appearance was cleaner than before. When the nurse practitioner came in (S.P.) she didn't seem interested in anything I had to say, only checking off boxes. Whether or not it was true, she felt like she was... rushing. I didn't feel like a patient, just some chore to finish and get over with quickly. She seemed distracted and disinterested in understanding my situation. Maybe because I went before their lunch break. I was rushed out the door before I even had a chance to fully discuss both the problem and the prescription. There is a big sign that says something like "Please limit your visit to 1-2 issues, if you have more issues, schedule another appointment." Which tells you a lot about the type of service they would prefer to provide to you. The most important problem was the prescription they gave me, which was sub-par, compared to when Dr. Urman was there. They had my old prescription in the system, but instead of renewing the old one, they changed it to something way less than before. The prescription was worse in both quantity (6/month vs. normally 30/month), and duration (6 months vs. normally 2 years). If your issue is finding medicine for hair loss, I recommend looking elsewhere. Not sure if this is true, but feels like they made the duration to be 6 months so you keep coming back. Perhaps the other branches are better than this one, but definitely can't recommend the one at Somerset.
