    Construction everywhere

The parking situation is REALLY BAD!!!! Must maneuver around construction work and traffic to get to your car. The motel being built beside your main resort should be another parking lot...not across the street. No handicap accessibility at all....for the ridiculous price you charge to stay there...there should be compensation for this huge inconvenience...the place is beautiful but not beautiful enough to make it worthwhile

TL;DR: Horrible experience here. Paid $1,400 for a 2-bed, 2-bath ocean view room that smelled of mildew and had damaged furniture. Switched rooms due to health concerns, only to find active ceiling leaks and no A/C. Eventually had to stay somewhere else. Avoid at all costs! We booked a 2-bed 2-bath ocean view room in Tower 2. Despite booking two months in advance, it ran us almost $1,400, but it seemed worth it given the pictures. It was not. We checked in to our room on the 15th floor and were thoroughly impressed with the view, but noticed an odor of mildew. In addition, every surface, wall, and piece of furniture in the room was horribly dented and scratched, making the whole room look very poorly maintained. We chalked the smell up to the A/C being off, so we turned it on and left to get groceries and visit family traveling with us. Upon our return, the mildew smell was even more pungent. Given two in our family are allergic to mold, we did not feel safe sleeping in the room. We called the front desk and informed them of the issue, but they only offered to send a deodorizer up. Um--hello??? It's not just a smell; it's really unsanitary and hazardous to our health and allergies to have mildew in the walls. They looked for an available room, and offered us a room switch. We weren't keen on having to do this late at night, especially given this was a preventative error that should have been caught by housekeeping, but we opted to move. We loaded up our stuff and were pleased to not smell anything in the new room. But then we looked in the bathroom and found an active leak with the soaked ceiling literally peeling off into the bathtub. This was present in both bathrooms. We contacted the front desk and they sent maintenance to our room. They said they would have someone out tomorrow to fix the leak. We weren't pleased with this because 1) it would take forever, and our idea of a vacation is not having someone ripping up our ceiling and replacing a pipe and 2) it was an enormous leak that would definitely take a long time to fix. We tried to escalate and get managers but by this time it was after 10 at night so there wasn't anyone there. We decided to just sleep in this room and deal with it tomorrow. However, we quickly learned that there was no working air conditioner. Apparently, the room was closed off to guests for repairs but they put us in it anyway. The following morning, we went to see the manager at the front desk. We requested a full refund so we could stay somewhere else. They were apologetic and fairly easily refunded the remainder of our stay, but refused at first to refund the night we had already stayed--in a room with a melting ceiling and no A/C. After having to move from a moldy room at night. He had to call someone but eventually processed the refund (while being rather curt with us). Overall, we had a horrible experience at this resort and would recommend you stay far away.

Not as bad as some of these reviews claim, in my opinion anyway. The pools do have sand, but what can you expect when people are walking off the sand into pools. it's not dirt, it's just sand. The rooms are nice, the windows were unbelievable, my child and I had a wonderful time. If you go in here with the beach on your mind, nothing should get in your way.

Tower 1 Room 1401 - Clean room. Clean bathroom.

The accommodations were amazing. Room 1401 Tower 1. We checked in by parking at the floor level of tower two which has roughly two handfuls of loading/unloading parking spaces. We had to go up one level to the Lobby to check in and receive our keys; the front desk staff was very kind. From there, we unloaded into our room and then moved our car to Tower 2 where we were instructed to park in Level 3 or above. Tower 2 is across the street so we walked back to Tower 1 to our room. We booked a boulevard view but the room still had a great view of the beach as well. The room was very clean and spacious. The toilet took a long time to flush but not a huge inconvenience worth mentioning to staff. The pool in tower 2 was a bit more cold but had great options for kids and a lazy river combined with amazing rooftop views. The pool in tower 1 was a bit more warm, had the jetted/hottub and also a splash pad for kids. Tower 1 was also adjacent to the restaurant and bar; and had a tent next to the pool serving ice cream and a limited selection of drinks for convenience. There was almost always a wait for the elevators in Tower 1 but not a ridiculous wait. We went in August, after school started and not during a holiday weekend so there was adequate parking. The location was nice but about 25 minutes away from some of the more popular attractions we chose to visit. Overall, this property is top of my list on places to rebook and hope to visit again soon.

We were invited to come up and stay the night with family who has rented a room for the week. My children were of course beyond excited; a room at the beach.... Let's go! The resort is nice but if I am being honest when I hear resort I think super luxurious. There are two buildings, one is the Peking garage with rooms above and the other is room above a restaurant. The room we nice, clean and inviting. It had a small kitchen, that had a ton of cooking supplies, pots, pans, plates, silverware etc. there was a master bedroom with a huge soaking tub. The second bedroom had two full-size beds. Everything was clean, warm and inviting. We tried the pool and the lazy river, they were cold but so much fun. The hot tubs were perfect. The best part of course is waking up to the ocean and the view.

Nice kitchen set up. Clean and well-maintained.

    1. Clean and sanitized. 2. Friendly and welcoming staff. 3. Attentive to special needs. 4. Fishing pier on site. 5. Steps from the beach. Side note...one of the elevators went down so wife and daughter used the stairs to go to the ocean on Thursday morning. One of the maintenance gentleman in the stairwell assisted the wife and daughter carrying their chairs and umbrella. Wife said he was truly a gentleman and was very nice. This means a lot to me!!!

Check in was a breeze. Staff was super friendly. This hotel is located in a great spot...within walking distance to lots of eateries and direct access to the beach. All of the rooms have ocean views. Initially I thought the bed position was weird but I quickly appreciated waking up to views of the beach and ocean. Everything was clean and well appointed in our king room. My only complaint is that the towels were pretty bad and extremely thin, more so than any other hotel I've visited. We went to the bar on the second floor to people watch. It's a cute spot and has access to outdoor seating with a view and fire pits. Our drinks were just "ok"...I've never had ice in a French 75 and my husband's old fashioned was made with crushed ice and not a ball or large cube which was odd. There is ample parking in the deck across the street. Overall, a nice stay!

Resort amenities are abundant and include direct beach access, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, (small) lazy rivers, a fitness center, an arcade, and a fire pit. We made a relatively late reservation here for five nights when we learned that international guests would be visiting. There would be seven guests (all adults) for two nights, and only four of us for the other three nights. We used extra timeshare points (making it more expensive) in order to get a unit on an upper floor, hoping that the upper floor would give us the best ocean view. Unit. (3/5). Our unit in Tower 2 was spacious (especially when there were only 4 of us), and had everything that we needed and was clean. We especially appreciated the fully-stocked full kitchen with generous pantry space, having a washer and dryer in the unit, and the jacuzzi in the main bedroom (which we under-utilized!). The beds were comfortable, and had high quality linens. However, we were somewhat disappointed with the unit as our ocean view was limited (although you could see the ocean, beach, and one of the pools from our balcony). And, as the resort was built in 2002, and last renovated in 2011, it's now beginning to show its age -- with sofas and chairs that were no longer firm, some chips on furniture, and the musty smell that comes with high humidity. Amenities and Activities. (3.5/4). Tower 2 was convenient, and had many amenities that we utilized. It was home to the Lobby and Registration, had direct beach access, a lazy river, access to indoor and outdoor pools, game room/arcade, activities center, gift shop, and fire pit. As with our room, some of the amenities need upgrades. For instance, the hot tub was lukewarm at best, and the markings on the shuffleboard had eroded off. The resort also had a full calendar of "Resort Experiences", which included arts and crafts, shows, fitness classes, and more. HOWEVER, we were three days in before we even learned that there were resort activities, as we weren't given a schedule at check-in. For instance, we would've gone to the Sunday evening "Karaoke Welcome Party" at the fire pit, but we weren't aware. We DID enjoy the "Hula Fire Show" a few nights later. A few other random points. (1) Parking could be challenging if it's important to you to have parking close to your unit. If not, there's plentiful parking (and a free shuttle, which we didn't utilize) behind Tower 4. We were able to get parking in Tower 2 most evenings, except one evening when we got back late. (2) we were surprised that the concierge did have discount tickets to the shows in Myrtle Beach that we wanted to attend. (3) we would stay here again, but probably wouldn't pay extra again for a higher floor.

Even though I completed all of the online pre-registration beforehand, I had to repeat the entire process at the front desk because they couldn't find any record of it. The line was long, instructions were minimal, and parking was confusing. Both towers park in the Indigo garage, and you have to use the third-floor walkway to get to the other tower--information that wasn't clearly explained. The room itself was the biggest disappointment. The layout is incredibly long and narrow and honestly just... odd. The master bedroom shares a wall with the public hallway, and because we were close to the elevator, we heard people talking at all hours. It felt more like sleeping in a hallway than a bedroom. The furnishings are badly overdue for an update. The furniture feels worn out, the closet door came off its track when opened, the master sink barely drained, the safe battery was dead (maintenance had to replace it), and the sheets felt like sandpaper. There were no USB charging ports or convenient outlets like you find in just about every hotel these days. The "kitchen" is really just a mini fridge (without a freezer), microwave, sink, toaster, coffee maker, and blender. Then the layout gets even stranger. The living room has a sofa bed, but there were no pillows and only one set of sheets stored in the master closet. Meanwhile, the second bathroom connected to the living room is enormous--with dual vanities, a huge shower, and a Jacuzzi tub--while the master bathroom is the size of a basic Holiday Inn bathroom. The whole setup feels backwards. The ocean and pool view was beautiful, but the room itself felt like a design that never figured out what it wanted to be. One of my biggest frustrations was the housekeeping policy. We were charged a daily housekeeping fee (nearly $30 per day), yet the paperwork says they don't actually provide housekeeping. The first two days no one even came until I called. When they finally did, they simply emptied the trash and left a couple of clean towels on the counter. Charging a daily housekeeping fee without providing daily housekeeping feels misleading. To top it off, the only proactive phone call we received during our stay wasn't to see if everything was okay--it was someone trying to sell us a "timeshare". There are also no ice machines in the tower and no front desk staff nearby if you need assistance, so every issue requires contacting the separate check-in building. For the price we paid (roughly $500+ per night after resort fees, housekeeping fees, marketing fees, and taxes), I expected a much more polished experience. Instead, it felt dated, confusing, and overpriced. The ocean view was lovely, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to make up for everything else. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.
