REVIEW OF THE PRINCE RESORT HOTEL/CONDOS IN MYRTLE BEACH 7/23-7/25/2026 So where do I begin? The meat: First night, one of the beds broke down at around midnight and despite being told someone would be up promptly to take care of the situation, it took another phone call before anyone arrived, and when they did, it was security and not maintenance. There were boxes of ceramic tiles stored underneath the bed. Next day before going out, the "DO NOT DISTRUB SIGN " was placed on the door, only to come back to find that someone had entered the room anyway. They did not perform any housekeeping but left a telltale sign that someone had been in the room, as a refrigerated bottle of water "Wellsley Farms", a BJ's brand product sitting on the dresser in my room sweating onto the dresser. Sitting right in front of the clock. The time we arrived back to the room at 7:05 p.m. Called the front desk to find out why someone would enter our room when there was a "DO NOT DISTURB" SIGN on the door. Was informed after an investigation of security cameras as well as electronic key card logs, that no keys were used except ours to enter the room and nothing showed up on film. Yet the water bottle was not there when we left the unit and none of us had any plastic water bottles among us. (How is that possible?) I put the bottle into a plastic bag in case further investigation was needed. The sliding glass door in the living room area would not lock. Potatoes: Parking, had to park across the street in a parking garage. Very inconvenient. Construction: There was construction going on which took away some of the aesthetics/ambiance of the place. We stayed at this resort for 7 nights on the building across the street from the main building. Check-in was a challenge on a Saturday afternoon since the main building's parking was very difficult come by. While there were signs everywhere stating that the parking spaces were only for check-in, we noticed a few people parked there and head to the beach or the fishing pier (they were unloading things for the beach and fishing gear). The condo we stayed at was on the 15th floor. It had a patio overlooking a major construction site. We barely spent time there since it was always loud. The space itself could use some TLC. The floors felt dirty and grimy, so we always had to wear our flip-flops or some sort of footwear. The room featured mismatched furnishings and decor. Couch was ran down, there was a huge recliner that seemed random but it was comfortable. The bathroom was randomly decorated with vintage cat wall hangings which would have been kitchy if the rest of the place was decorated for that vibe. The walls must have been quite thin as I could hear everything. In the evenings, when it was remotely quiet, I can hear toilet flushing from the room next to us and it was very loud. I could also hear people above us stomping around. First time for a hotel/resort! The best thing was the kitchen with a full-sized fridge and had with real kitchen utensils and dishes. It also had a dish washer, a full stove/oven and a small washing machine and dryer set. Our building had a lazy river on the 9th floor, a pool, 2 hot tubs, a weight room, and a cardio room which were great amenities. I guess even with the less than satisfactory place to stay, the location was super close to the beach and the pier. It really depends on what you're after, I suppose. read more

The parking situation is REALLY BAD!!!! Must maneuver around construction work and traffic to get to your car. The motel being built beside your main resort should be another parking lot...not across the street. This was a last minute booking for us as our original plans fell thru. Stayed at the end of March. Room looked a little dated but freshly painted. It was clean, had a balcony, kitchen, pull out sofa, amenities for bathroom and kitchen. I was concerned about bugs but didn't see any. Staff we encountered was friendly. They have a paid breakfast at the hotel. Nothing glitz or glam but it was a clean place with the essentials. The only downside we encountered was the bed. Just got home today. Stayed at the Prince resort for 4 days. My kids rented a BNB a few miles away. The location was great. Room although slightly dated was clean and efficient. My only problem was the parking garage across the street from Tower 1. Because of the construction we were detoured daily. But most importantly the sidewalls to get in to the garage were uneven. My husband almost fell the first day we were there. Going in and out was a concern .As seniors I think we should have been informed you guys were "under construction " and we needed hard hats. Didn't effect my vacation with my family but don't think we would come back. read more

I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for several years. This resort was by far the worst I've ever stayed. They put us in tower 2, and the place smelled moldy. The kitchen was poorly stocked.. one broken frying pan, no bowls, limited tacky silverware, and a sink with drainage issues. The bathrooms had no toilet paper or tissues. One of the toilets would not flush. Maintenance came, but it didn't get fixed. Since tower 2 has no lobby, using another bathroom was not a possibility. The beds were awful! The mattresses were paper thin. It was like sleeping on springs. Every day we all woke up sore. Having to cross the street with children was dangerous with construction. Our ocean view was actually construction view. I have always rented a house as opposed to a condo. This place was horrible. I do not recommend. The beach was great. ok, let's start with the good stuff, great location and beach!! However, I would NOT come back to Prince Resort. First off the wording is tricky when you book online and you might end up across the street staring at construction with a small "view" of the ocean. I got beach view instead of beach front which puts you across the street, so you are not on the beach. The room door was open when we arrived at what I can only describe as a "creepy" run-down hotel. We had problems with the toilets not flushing and then backing up (no plunger in room) and the sink did not drain correctly. Also the vent in the bathroom turned on but I don't think it worked. The kitchen could use a few more items, we had to do dishes everyday so if you stay here bring paper products including paper towels and toilet paper. They are supposed to come take trash and give new TP and towels, but they did not come everyday and we had to wipe with the paper towels on our last day. Next the beds. They are the worst! I am a stomach sleeper and I have a bruise on my ribs from the bed, I had to try and sleep on top of pillows, it was terrible. ALL 3 beds were rough. We had light bulbs flickering and generally things seemed run down. Although they have a good location, this place is not what it seems. The pictures online look great, but either they are old photos or maybe a room from tower 1. Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel. read more

This place has been recently acquired by another company (to my understanding) and it's a good thing. Never would I ever stay here on my own money. The rooms are in need of renovation and repair badly. The balcony and chairs need to be cleaned. The tile and bath tubs re-sealed. Air vents deep cleaned. TL;DR: Horrible experience here. Paid $1,400 for a 2-bed, 2-bath ocean view room that smelled of mildew and had damaged furniture. Switched rooms due to health concerns, only to find active ceiling leaks and no A/C. Eventually had to stay somewhere else. Avoid at all costs! We booked a 2-bed 2-bath ocean view room in Tower 2. Despite booking two months in advance, it ran us almost $1,400, but it seemed worth it given the pictures. It was not. We checked in to our room on the 15th floor and were thoroughly impressed with the view, but noticed an odor of mildew. In addition, every surface, wall, and piece of furniture in the room was horribly dented and scratched, making the whole room look very poorly maintained. We chalked the smell up to the A/C being off, so we turned it on and left to get groceries and visit family traveling with us. Upon our return, the mildew smell was even more pungent. Given two in our family are allergic to mold, we did not feel safe sleeping in the room. We called the front desk and informed them of the issue, but they only offered to send a deodorizer up. Um--hello??? It's not just a smell; it's really unsanitary and hazardous to our health and allergies to have mildew in the walls. They looked for an available room, and offered us a room switch. We weren't keen on having to do this late at night, especially given this was a preventative error that should have been caught by housekeeping, but we opted to move. We loaded up our stuff and were pleased to not smell anything in the new room. But then we looked in the bathroom and found an active leak with the soaked ceiling literally peeling off into the bathtub. This was present in both bathrooms. We contacted the front desk and they sent maintenance to our room. They said they would have someone out tomorrow to fix the leak. We weren't pleased with this because 1) it would take forever, and our idea of a vacation is not having someone ripping up our ceiling and replacing a pipe and 2) it was an enormous leak that would definitely take a long time to fix. We tried to escalate and get managers but by this time it was after 10 at night so there wasn't anyone there. We decided to just sleep in this room and deal with it tomorrow. However, we quickly learned that there was no working air conditioner. Apparently, the room was closed off to guests for repairs but they put us in it anyway. The following morning, we went to see the manager at the front desk. We requested a full refund so we could stay somewhere else. They were apologetic and fairly easily refunded the remainder of our stay, but refused at first to refund the night we had already stayed--in a room with a melting ceiling and no A/C. After having to move from a moldy room at night. He had to call someone but eventually processed the refund (while being rather curt with us). Overall, we had a horrible experience at this resort and would recommend you stay far away. read more

This is going to be the most mixed review I've ever given. I stayed in tower 2, on the 15th floor. the hotel offers mobile check in/out, so there was never any interaction with staff. I liked the convenience of the mobile check in and key device. The room was a nice size and mostly clean. There were lots of places on the walls and ceilings with heavy damage; dents, scratches, and holes. I never had any issues with a smell of mold. There was a small balcony on the sound side that was kind of scary, When you walked out the balcony shook and rattled like it could give at any time. The view was beautiful and it was a cold breezy morning the day of check out. The 9th floor had a beautiful roof top pool and view that I attempted to utilize to get a sunrise view to avoid the cool breeze off the beach, but was told by maintenance that it did not open until 10 am. If you are only staying one day, check in is at 4, check out 11, that gives you just a few hours of pool access. Also, I attempted to use the gym three times before check out. The website says it opens at 6 am, my last attempt was at 8 am and I never could get in. It is winter, with that said, I have nothing to say about the pools or many of the amenities. The room was affordable, I feel I received what I paid for, but if I were on vacation or looking for a weekly stay, I'd look elsewhere. read more

The accommodations were amazing. Room 1401 Tower 1. We checked in by parking at the floor level of tower two which has roughly two handfuls of loading/unloading parking spaces. We had to go up one level to the Lobby to check in and receive our keys; the front desk staff was very kind. From there, we unloaded into our room and then moved our car to Tower 2 where we were instructed to park in Level 3 or above. Tower 2 is across the street so we walked back to Tower 1 to our room. We booked a boulevard view but the room still had a great view of the beach as well. The room was very clean and spacious. The toilet took a long time to flush but not a huge inconvenience worth mentioning to staff. The pool in tower 2 was a bit more cold but had great options for kids and a lazy river combined with amazing rooftop views. The pool in tower 1 was a bit more warm, had the jetted/hottub and also a splash pad for kids. Tower 1 was also adjacent to the restaurant and bar; and had a tent next to the pool serving ice cream and a limited selection of drinks for convenience. There was almost always a wait for the elevators in Tower 1 but not a ridiculous wait. We went in August, after school started and not during a holiday weekend so there was adequate parking. The location was nice but about 25 minutes away from some of the more popular attractions we chose to visit. Overall, this property is top of my list on places to rebook and hope to visit again soon. read more

You would think that staying here as a returning local customer we would get a better deal. We were charged $323 for 1 night and when we checked in because we were Horry County residents we were charged an additional $250. 00. Which we did get back since our room was "still in good shape". We were invited to come up and stay the night with family who has rented a room for the week. My children were of course beyond excited; a room at the beach.... Let's go! The resort is nice but if I am being honest when I hear resort I think super luxurious. There are two buildings, one is the Peking garage with rooms above and the other is room above a restaurant. The room we nice, clean and inviting. It had a small kitchen, that had a ton of cooking supplies, pots, pans, plates, silverware etc. there was a master bedroom with a huge soaking tub. The second bedroom had two full-size beds. Everything was clean, warm and inviting. We tried the pool and the lazy river, they were cold but so much fun. The hot tubs were perfect. The resort had two towers on opposite sides of the street. We stayed in a one bedroom suite in the tower across the street from the ocean on the 17th floor. We had a bedroom, full kitchen, living room area and a balcony. Even though we were in the tower across the street, we had a beautiful oceanfront view from the balcony which was so nice to wake up to. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel decor is a little dated but does offer great amenities like a lazy river, kiddie pools, hot tub and two regular pools. We recently stayed at Prince Resort in Myrtle Beach SC. The room we booked was a 2 Bedroom Oceanfront Corner Suite. When we arrived we found that the room was not ocean front but had the pool and jacuzzi in front of our balcony. The pool was directly in front of our balcony with people lounging and swimming 3' in front of the railing. We had no view except of the pool. We were on the 9th floor as was the pool. Out the side of the living room window we could see up the beach. We immediately complained and were assured the we would get moved in the morning. Unfortunately in the morning there were no other rooms available and they informed us that the gentleman should not have said that. They gave us a $50 credit on a 3 night stay. A beautiful stay ruined by an overpriced view room. We should have been advised of the lack of view. Unit was clean, had all amenities such as soap, shampoo, coffee, salt/pepper, dish soap, conditioner and trash bags. 2 sets of towels per person. Bed was very comfortable. AC worked great. Room was clean. When we arrived frig door handle missing, called and they addressed immediately. Service was great, staff was Friendly. Loved the texting feature with front desk. Only negatives were elevators were worn and dirty and garage is tough to drive in and out. Big trucks in tiny garage, and all floors have blind corners, drive slow snd careful. read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Prince Resort multiple times in the past. We'll not come back. Last year (2024) we came in early April, and the clientele was better suited to a Motel 6, not a fairly expensive hotel. This year we booked a little later when the rates had increased hoping for better results and to miss most Spring-Breakers. Unfortunately, it was no better than last year. The hotel seems to rent to an unusually high percentage of kids who are loud and rowdy well into the night......past the 10pm "quiet time" that the hotel apparently doesn't enforce. 3 of the past 4 nights I've had to call the front desk well after 10pm to ask for security to tell the kids at the pool and on their balconies to be quiet. This used to be a nice hotel with guests that knew how to behave. Not anymore. We're done with the Prince Resort. We may even leave early and not stay for our full reservation. Nice convenient location but not the cleanest nor safest. We were shocked how basically anyone could easily get into the building/floors. In our bathroom, we were disgusted by hairs left all over the bathtub and non-speakable red, dripping stains on the toilet seats. I would also recommend bringing your own towels as ours had little tiny hairs on numerous sheets. When we arrived the elevator and the entire lobby smelled like Curry. When we got to the unit I kept smelling a faint smell similar to cheap aftershave with too much alcohol. I could not pinpoint the source and after passing a maintenance guy with a mop I figured out where the smell in the unit was coming from, the floor cleaning solution. Yuck. It must be the cheapest stuff available! Anyways someone puked in the elevator and the smell was putrid both days we were there. I did let the front desk know and they said they would clean the elevator. Not sure that happened.... Or at least not very well. This is probably a typical 3 star resort for Myrtle Beach. I can honestly say this is the first issue with smells! Never before have I stayed somewhere as smelly as this place. But just to keep it real for the record, there are worst smells than Curry and cheap aftershave... (puke would be one of those.) Wanted to start my review off by saying most of the staff were very friendly here. Leaving a negative review due to several reasons. The biggest negative for our stay (2 adults and 2 kids, in a 2 bedroom suite, Tower I) was the horrid setup of the elevator/lobby area. If your party is small, and you don't have much luggage, and you have a ton of patience, you'll have no problem. However, for most people, the elevator room and loading area are awful. During our stay the loading area was constantly full of cars that seemed to parked there all week, causing congestion for people trying to load/unload, and people were literally leaving their vehicles in the middle of the road unattended, blocking everyone else in. Then to top it all off, there are 3 elevators for an 18 floor hotel, and the waits are awful in the middle of the day. To add to this, during our checkout, an employee standing in the loading area at a little podium, watched us struggle with doors and offered no assistance whatsoever. The next big negatives are that there was such a push from the front desk employees to use the app for everything, and the app didn't work for anyone that had come to check in. So rather then kindly help us, they wanted to defer to the app, which was frustrating. The restaurant employees also were not were helpful or welcoming. We walked in for breakfast only one morning, and were told by an unfriendly lady working the buffet to just sit anywhere, and then we sat 10 minutes while the waitress walked by and looked at us several times and didn't acknowledge us, so we decided to leave. Also the pier which was supposed to have been completed by May, was still not done. The pier was a big driver for our stay here, and that was a big let down. As far as the room, it was really overall nice. The bathrooms could really use updating to match the rest of the rooms. The floors also seemed to be very dirty, the carpet and tile floors. So more care could be had for the cleaning crew of the building as well. Leaving 2 stars due to the price of the stay, the experience should have been way better. read more

We stayed at the Prince Resort for 6 days during the 1st week of May. We were in room 1240. At first I thought it was the shadow from the sun reflecting on the carpeting but then I realized the rug had stains all over it the living room area. My husband and I usually take our shoes off when we are at home but could not walk barefoot because the carpeting and flooring was so filthy that the soles our feet were dirty. The rooms themselves just didn't feel clean. I showed a picture of the stained carpeting to the front desk clerk who's reply was that a carpet cleaning service would have to be called and it would take 24hrs for the carpet to dry. My question was why was this room sold to me in the first place? I booked this room months in advance. Why didn't housekeeping report this issue? There were several other issues, one which we reported to housekeeping was the stench coming from the hall just outside our room. The housekeeper said she didn't know where the smell was coming from and that she had not spray to use to cover up the smell. Upon checkout I showed the same person who checked me in pictures of the room and mentioned no one contacted me when I complained about the filthy carpeting and that the room should not have been sold in this condition. She said she wouldn't want to stay in a room with filthy carpeting either and pointed to her notepad stating she took down the info and that the general manager was not in at the moment and someone would be contacting me. No one ever called me back while I was there or after my visit to offer a better room or a refund. The only phone call I received was from a telemarketer offering us free breakfast and $200 to pressure me into buying a condo here. Really? We did not feel like a valued customer staying here as no one bothered to pay any attention to what we had to say. So, here are some pictures of the room which we were very disappointed in. We recently stayed at the Prince Resort 10/20/23-10/22/23. Reserved a corner 1bed Street view/side ocean view(901) Arrived early -Front desk staff very nice and allowed us to check in early which was great. The room was not as nice as the gallery of pictures you see when you are looking to book a room. Clean but needed a lot of updating- There was a smell when we entered the room finally figured out the bathroom door had been painted that day- paint was still wet. Gave us a headache and watery eyes. We opened the balcony door and turned on the ceiling fan to see if that would help. After about an hour went to the front desk and let them know- This room should not have been rented for a least a day or so until the paint dried. The front desk said they were so sorry and this had happened before. (I think the process for taking rooms of market needs to be looked at) The offered to move us to the other side of the building -we just unpacked- really did not want to do that. The Front Desk (there was man and lady who were really nice) offered to put the ozone machine in the room. We said ok- we would be out for a few hours. Came back to the room about 7:30 pm. The smell was better but not gone. Went to bed- the air vent for the ac -if right across the top the bed- and when the ac unit turned on it sounded like a freight train -blowing 15mph winds across the top. Then the Fridge sounded like it was going to blow up. Did not sleep much that night. Next morning went to take a shower- the step into the tub is like 5inchs and the bottom of the tub was slippery- no mat or anti slip what so ever. Had to call the front desk to come reset the TV- They did so fairly quickly. Checked out on Sunday- The parking situation- is not great- a total nightmare if it is raining. Got a survey from the hotel in my email on Sunday afternoon only a rating score- option. I chose a 1star- hoping someone from the hotel would reach out to see why. It has been 8 days and not heard a word. I should have gotten a phone call, or email regarding my stay. I went with two stars because I wanted to give the hotel three stars and my room one star. The view was nice from our corner unit tower two. Distance to the pools and beach weren't bad and having the pier on site was nice. The parking deck was convenient though a bit tight and the elevators were a bit slow sometimes. The staff was friendly overall. Our room, 1939, was a major disappointment. It wasn't clean when we arrived we swept a pile of sand up on the floor. Parts of the floor are coming up or broken and dangerous to your feet. The bathroom door was broken and wouldn't close. The shower head had weak pressure and looked moldy. And to top it all off there were bugs in the condo. Some were pretty big. If I could take back my stay here I would. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that cares about cleanliness or safety. read more

Took my family here for my birthday from the 16-18th of April. I'm now at the hospital on the 30th for my son was diagnosed with scabies, 2 week's before his 2nd birthday. I hate to leave bad reviews but for the price we paid, I was really disappointed with the overall quality. It was clean but the furniture and pillows need to be replaced. It's completely unacceptable to have dirty, old pillows and stained mattresses. The couch was SO uncomfortable. We couldn't even enjoy sitting and watching TV after the kids were in bed which is the reason we wanted an apartment style resort rather than hotel. Also if I'm going to pay for linen service, I expect someone to come and change the linens and bring fresh towels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 1. Arrived late and girl at the counter was great. 2. The kitchen was a little dirty. Fridge was sticky and counters had sand on them. The fridge was noticeably not cooling properly. 3. Balcony doors were hard to lock and one door we could not get to lock most of the time which was a little unsettling. 4. On the second night there a roach was in the bathroom. Told the front desk and he acted like it was no big deal and just move on. 5. Restaurant in the lobby has really good breakfast. 6. Washwr in the room could not be used as there was styrofoam in the tub when we arrived. 7. There was trash on the floor by sofa when we checked in. We will not be coming back with how costly the rental was the cleanliness did not reflect the price was paid. was overpriced for the poor condition of the room and the glitchy elevator. read more

If I could give this place a zero; I would. The reviews about this place are VERY true. There are bugs; please believe it. The hotel is very run down and in need of a extreme remodeling. The hotel is very run down. The room aren't clean correctly AT ALL. We had cheez it, random food pieces and dirty in our room. When I called for house keeping or the main desk. I NEVER got an answer. They do not have housekeeping the whole duration of the stay due to COVID. Moreover, they do not accommodate guest at all with unexpected situations, so please plan to be disappointed. The staff is extremely rude. They mock you and don't care to be respectful. Very unprofessional. They also ask hotel guest to wear mask in common areas and they do not enforce this policy. Also, they sent us a survey about our stay while we were there. We told them what was going on and they didn't do anything to resolve the issue. Then 6 hours later, we recieve a text asking if everything was resolved and we said no. They said have a good night. Unacceptable and disheartening. That was very unprofessional and they didn't even call the room or check in to fix any of our issues. With this being said, if you want a dirty room, unclean hotel, rude front desk associates, lack of materials and staff being unreachable. This is the hotel for you. read more

We stayed at the prince just a few weeks ago. When we booked the only thing available was on the 10th floor in tower 1 we were thinking that was to high up that the view wouldn't be to good but we were absolutely wrong. The view was amazing, we loved the convenience of the pier being right there as well as the restaurant. They have a good breakfast buffet and all the staff was friendly. The kids loved that they were having daily activities that they could participate in. Looking forward to staying again read more

Honestly we have been coming to this resort every 4th of July for the past 6-7 years. This year was such a horrible experience we rented since Friday all the way to Tuesday. Saturday morning the A/C stopped working , we called and they said they would come look at it. We have a new born who is only 6 months we noticed her and two other people woke up with bad bug bites. Nobody came to see the A/C until Monday which is when they offered to bring fans or change rooms we were leaving Tuesday so there was no point in moving rooms. Then later they said they couldn't bring fans. It was extremely hot and the baby would wake up crying at night every night, her bug bite got so bad and they only offered a 50% off the last night. Money wasn't the problem this experience is just horrible I will attach some pictures from the baby's bug bite this is how it is today. read more

The rooms are awesome , however ... whoever owns room 1705 is a tightwad! There isn't even a wine opener provided ! Talk about bare bones!!! Wouldn't give us a roll of paper towels , one per week , paying a minimum of $2800.00 peak season and can't get a $.59 roll of paper towels! WOW!! Also...If you have babies I wouldn't recommend this resort . They had one umbrella around the kiddie pool area, we were able to use the pool one day for our granddaughter, it made it so nice to be able to play with her a little in the pool and then sit in the shade so she wouldn't get too much sun . The next day the umbrella was gone , they said it was for the pool attendant? So I guess unless ya want the little kids to bake in the sun , you can't use the pool area ! This is supposed to be a family resort? They should state that it's recommend for ages 3 and up! I'd never stay here again unfortunately! read more

Do NOT stay here! I would never recommend this resort. We found dried blood on all 3 of the beds in our room, On the sheets and pillows! We had to call several times to get a manager to come and take a look. When he did he barley even apologized. The housekeeping manager was very apologetic and did come and clean our room personally. The manager and general manager never got back to us and once we called again they were not apologetic. Worst experience with customer service. read more
