I called Polly's Monday morning, 10/23, and they told me the owner was out of town and nothing could be done until he returned the following Monday, 10/30 (today). I called this afternoon, and the owner, Kenny, told me the damage absolutely did not happen there - though it did, and that it's been too long now anyway, so there wasn't anything he'd do about it. How can Polly's guarantee the damage did not happen while in their care when they parked my car across the street on Belmont Blvd., where it could easily have been side-swiped? Use their services at your own risk.

It's 12 degrees out, I'm driving, the heat goes out and shortly the car shows that it's overheating. The car was in the shop at IAM for 9 days, they replaced a fan they said was warped, and were about to remove most of the engine to get to a sensor. I had just talked to a co-worker about it and he said what I described was the water pump. Another co-worker came over hearing this and also said it was the water pump. I call them up and say "everyone I talk to says it's the water pump, why don't you check that". 2 hours later I'm told that my water pump was bad. I got charged (if I remember correctly) over $1000 for fans that were slightly warped, labor, water pump, etc. They replaced the water pump with the inferior VW one with the plastic impeller. It dies 1 year 3 months later. I really don't feel like listing out the list of what all I feel was done wrong to my car, perhaps IAM's a better place now. Perhaps years of learning how to work on a Beetle have jaded me. I think they might be closer to normal pricing for high-end cars, such as the wankle engine listed below, but I paid IAM a lot over a couple of years for a car that was probably worth roughly that, and i had to keep taking it back. I left and went to another shop in 2005, my car bills halved and my time between repairs extended greatly, although that could be that everything that was going to break broke and was replaced. I don't hate them, just not going back. They were nice people as I remember.

The owner has bent over backwards to always help her maintain her older car as she desperately needs it to get to work. She reports his prices are fair and his work is excellent. He will always try to fit her in and always diagnoses the problem correctly and keeps in mind what she can afford on pay day and never up sells, or over prices her. Thank goodness I have not needed Bradley, but when do (God-forbid), will go to them. And Bradley is centrally located right on Oceola and Charlotte. Our West Nashville neighborhood is so lucky to have Bradely right here. It is rare to find a competent mechanic and as vital, one with integrity and compassion. Fantastic!

Had seen reviews and Essy seemed widely respected. Gave him a call. He answered and I asked if he could fit me in. He apologized that he couldn't because he was at his daughter's graduation that day but that if I called back Monday he'd see if he could fit me in. I ultimately found another shop nearby that also had good reviews with immediate availability and it was a good experience, but just wanted to say how much I admired Essy answering my call. I felt like he did in case it was an emergency repair situation (it obviously wasn't), which definitely reflects what his customers say about him. And to apologize about his availability bc he was attending a major event for his loved one... being gracious and generous is definitely in his nature. So just wanted to share that :-)

Not showy, very humble, been a mechanic all his life.. works alone in that great big building which is like a toy box to him. While he was checking out my car, I noticed a couple of old, old, old vintage cars in his garage. I felt confident after speaking to him about my ignition problem and I felt confident that if someone was going to "allow" him to work on those old vintage cars, then someone else has a lot of confidence in him, as well.... He gave me a price, which was workable.. showed me the price on the computer, so he didn't beef up the price.. Handled my car quickly and efficiently and had me out the door in no time. Bass Tire was recommended to me, and I drove there immediately. These people are amazing. These guys fixed it with no problems. They even told me that the only reason the dealership's service department didn't want to fix it is because they are only interested in selling new tires and would come up with a bunch of lies about why my tire could not have been repaired. Bass Tire personnel took the nail out, patched the tire, and didn't even charge a penny, where the dealer's service dept was about to charge me over $300. Highly recommend Bass Tires!!!!!!!!!!!
