Amazing experience and the quality of service was excellent. I had a hydra facial done last week…read moreand my skin felt amazing right after the procedure and it has stayed liked that. When I met Bertha she was very friendly, positive energy and she made me feel very comfortable. She is an amazing aesthetician. and I love her results! They have fair prices, great specials and packages available. Highly recommend! https://www.bellaglamstudio.com https://www.facebook.com/bellaglamstudiollc

Not Good. I was visiting my mom in San Antonio and being overdue for a brazilian wax, I thought…read moreI'd check out the local Groupon deals and take care of it while in town. Called Bella Glam first to make sure she used the hard wax as opposed to strip wax (which has caused a reaction for me). No problem; so we set up a time. I arrive and we start chatting -- all good. Except while we're making small talk, she's not starting to prepare for waxing, just standing there talking to me and I'm thinking I don't want to add ten minutes to our appt just to chat. Then she tells me she will apply numbing cream and leave for 15 to 20 minutes --what? I've had aestheticians use numbing cream before then just get set up and start waxing the easy parts while the cream sets in. Again, I don't want to add time to the appt. That Berta sounded *very* concerned about the pain was the first red flag. I have gotten brazilian waxes on and off for years and never had such a horrific experience. From the get go, I tell Berta I am "overdue" and "it's a mess" down there, gesturing around my nether regions -- trying to keep it light and still straightforward, like do what you need to do. I have had aestheticians trim first, and some don't. Far be it from me to tell you how to do your job. She didn't trim and I'm thinking no big deal. Starting from the inner thigh, the first few strips are already painful. Swiping on the wax, she then pushed it back and forth into the hair, which is already pinching and pulling. I'm getting nervous. In between pulling the hardened wax strips, Berta was "cleaning up" the residue wax on my thighs by daubing it with wax on her fingers but pushing REALLY hard. I told her it was hurting. Cleaning the wax off her gloved fingers she looked like a kid playing with taffy. It was a mess. As she moved inward, I'm getting more nervous. She applies what feels like a glob on one side of the lips. It quickly becomes obvious that the wax is sitting ON TOP of the hair, because when she goes to pull it, it is like a tug of war. She is literally tugging and pulling in bursts, I am near tears and say I may have to ask her to stop. She finally rips it out and I don't know if I'm bleeding or what (I checked later and I wasn't). She then remarks that my hair is very long (which I had told her!) and asks if she may trim it (Please!). She then convinces me to do the other side of lip, which is not as bad but still awful and it is very clear to me she does not know what she's doing. I tell her lets stop the appt, I don't wish to continue. As she's daubing up wax remnants she AGAIN is pushing super hard into my thighs and I finally snap and tell her I will BRUISE please stop! She's like, Oh! You should let me know! Which I already had. She leaves the room and I clean up as best I can and get dressed. I had errands to do afterward so I'm walking around with sticky wax in my chonies feeling sore and traumatized. When I look in the mirror at home I am a patchy mess -- even the area she had waxed has an "island" of tuft! I am grateful I'm not bleeding or bruised but it felt sore and raw for a couple days. Oh, and this whole ordeal lasted an hour from start to finish. I feel bad because Berta was very nice. She at times seemed horrified herself and very concerned about the pain -- but toward the end she blamed me for not trimming beforehand; I repeated that I TOLD you it was overgrown and I am traveling and have not trimmed at home. She should not have charged me at all, but again I felt bad and agreed to her suggestion of $15 instead of $22. Berta should stick to make up until she takes a couple additional courses in waxing and practices on her friends. Not cool!
