Prime seems like a good company to drive for, very reputable and respectable. Although, my recruiting experience w Heather Vinsko has been pretty difficult and discouraging to say the least-- her Reddit reputation definitely proceeds her. Heather is very uncommunicative, it's nearly impossible to actually work w her as an applicant at any point in the hiring process. Whether I make calls/emails to her at the times she tells me to or I'm waiting on her own calls/emails to me, these potential interactions fall through nearly every time. I recently called Prime requesting a new, proficient recruiter. The receptionist who answered my call very rudely told me no they wouldn't be doing that for me, and then lied saying that Heather has in fact been making many calls to me. Upon bringing this lie up to Heather when I could, she ignored my concern and changed the subject. Her only reason for hardly connecting w me at any point has been that she's "busy" throughout the workday-- although working w applicants IS a main part of her workday. Whenever she does manage to finally connect with me, the info she provides me with may be shaky and not entirely accurate. It has continued to be an uphill battle establishing effective communication, only speaking w her at her very limited convenience and rarely at times that I need her as I integrate into the company. For a professional who is supposed to entice Prime supplicants, my experience w Heather suggests to me that I'm unwanted by this company altogether-- considering that I have to keep chasing her in circles to move forward in the recruiting process, with little effort on her end. Heather poorly represents her company through her substandard professionalism and general disregard/carelessness. Her conduct as a face of the company has led me as an applicant to question Prime as a company. UPDATE: I began working at Prime, and have recently left the company. I've learned that many employees at all levels here are unethical, unprofessional, and outright incompetent-- seems Heather accurately represented her company after all. People at Prime aren't much communicative at all, don't put appropriate effort into their job/their subordinates, and really don't know/care what they're doing/saying in compliance with any kind of basic policy/regulation. Most calls I've made to anyone at Prime have been ignored or followed up on measly. My original trainer assigned, Harris Mitela, was an aggressive nightmare who selfishly violated many CDL/FMCSA regulations at MY own risk. My careless and generally bothered fleet manager Steve Benz had no regard for these clear legal violations reported to him, and blatantly dismissed my license/safety concerns. My following fleet manager Chris Martin was unprofessional and only vouched for the high-risk infractions of his colleagues. Prime is clearly not the upstanding company they appear to be from the outside. I recommend CDL drivers do their research before deciding if this company is for them-- you'll want to protect your license and well-being at all costs. read more

Was out with my pups and this driver tried to swat/hit my puppy who was trying to be friendly he purposely came out of his truck to throw away a piece of paper that could have waited to be tossed with other things I let him know that wasn't a good idea to do that and he never said anything fuckin jerk read more

Was driving on interstate 20 in Alabama and truck driver with number 691038 almost ran me off the road because he was trying to merge onto my lane when a cop was stopped on the shoulder lane. Terminal not as large as Springfield but I doubt any terminal would be larger then the main terminal. Overall every time I've stopped here it's been clean, food made to order kitchen staff could be a little more cheerful but food's good. Laundry room has efficient washers/dryers and showers are a good decent size with good water pressure. The hair and salon place is pretty nice, small but nice ladies over there, company store is nice but they don't offer everything Springfield has. The tractor shop guys get your stuff done in a timely manner and are pretty helpful. The tire guys are d*cks, always on their phones but they get the job done. Overall it's been a good experience stopping here every time!! read more

I worked for Prime for almost 2 years. I drove out of the Springfield terminal. My experience was wonderful. I had Jonathan Grice as a dispatcher and oh man I had my days with him on loads but never nothing too bad he was GREAT. The inside of the terminal was wonderful fuLl size basketball court full kitchen where the steaks are delicious. Restaurant & Bar with a beautiful indoor pool. All places you can eat and charge fees to your truck. I started as a student and finished as a Reefer driver I don't regret any of my my experience because it was all positive and good. I came off road for personal reasons but looking to go back soon. It Wii's only be with Prime Inc that I will that journey again. read more

Keep it real this company is horrible and dispatchers are rude and disrespectful. This place literally look at you as a number. I'm currently a driver in the process to buy my own unit because this place is horrible. I've done intermodal, regional and lease. It's all a scam. I'm thankful to get my CDL through them because now I can make money for myself and family. Since no one wants to say it I will. If you are a minority you should look for another company that is driver friendly because these people do not care about you at all. They will say they want the best for your business but why would they when eventually you would be competition to them. Horrible major carrier to work for. read more

I have a good friend who drives for this company he is in the reefer division he has been there for many years he get to bring his dog with him and he also is a trainer for this company I have been friends with him for many years and I have gone on some runs with him he is a great trainer and this is a great company to work for I would recommend this company to anyone read more

Don't believe everything you read. This is an excellent company that truly believes in safety. Having worked here for 13 years with close to 2 million accident free miles I see it every day. There walls are full of drivers with a million or more safe miles. Having had a driver pass my wife in a left turn lane and cut us off running in to the left fender of our truck and trying to blame her I know how many feel about big trucks. It's just not always so cut and dry as it's the trucks fault. read more

They deserve a 0 since they park their rigs in our neighborhood and it is against the codes for our city, called their safety dept and he couldn't have cared less! city should make them repave our streets if they continue to overload the roads with heavy equipment. egregious their lack of participating to solve the problem and have them park OFF our neighborhood streets ! While driving on I95 in Connecticut a Prime Inc. truck passing in the right lane struck my vehicles rear view mirror with the trailer when the driver changed lanes way too early. The driver did not stop, and continued to change lanes in a very unsafe manner. I called the state police, but since the trailer had no numbers visible and we did not get the plate number, must have been too busy getting control of my vehicle,they could only take the report. Prime may be a great company for the drivers, but if you are on the road near one of their vehicles keep a close eye on them, they are very unsafe. read more

I was not going to post this but I feel the need to expose a fraudulent person. Someone from this company by the name of W.Moore ordered a brand-new set of truck parts. Just a little over 2 months after the parts were delivered, a charge-back claim was filed on their behalf. He never returned the merchandise, how dishonest can you be? Hope your team is not as dishonest as you. It is not even worth taking you to court, hope you reflect on your actions, God bless you. read more

The worst trucking and training school I've heard of. The fleet managers need jobs where they don't deal with people and constantly lie and stress out their drivers. There is NO employee support among this group whatsoever; however, just the opposite. They abuse their most their drivers (I imagine there are a few they favor). But for example, they can send you in a 1300 mile and not expect you to stop for gas until your next stop. Not even joking and when you call the fleet manager to tell him you need to stop he will be nasty and lie to you, he will tell you, you're the only one with this problem!!' These are 18-wheelers, not electric smart cars. People at this place just like being jerks (and that's just being nice for the purpose of the review). I know trucking is a different walk of life among people but these people take the award in rudeness, lies, unprofessionalism, and being in the wrong position! Do not choose their learn to drive program or drive for them - will not be worth it, so many other reputable companies out there! read more

This is an excellent company, can they improve: YES. However, as an over the road driver I find their attitude toward drivers, and the pay structure to be top notch. If you are looking to start your career in trucking, their training program is over the road, not just endless loops on a course. read more
