A short time later, we got an email from the lady we had met. She told us that the newspaper would not put our ad in and she could not tell us why. We requested to speak with the Editor and was told he would call us back. He never called us so we called the next day and my wife spoke with him. He was very rude, still did not say why we were denied an ad, and told us to get a lawyer. He said we would get a letter stating why we were denied but when we got it, it said nothing about why we were denied the ad. We wrote a letter requesting the reason but got no response. I have no idea why we were treated so rudely. We will never do business with the Voices newspaper again. You would think they would treat small business owners better since their revenue is all derived from ads. I wouldn't be surprised if you see higher star reviews from less credible Yelp reviewers in order to beef up their star average.
