The prices seemed fair especially for local and handmade art. They even helped us check for extra sizes in the back for clothing we liked. We found so many handmade treasures and can't wait to gift them to our friends and family. The warmth and hospitality we felt here (and throughout Puerto Rico) has been incredible -- so grateful for the experience!

Each pilón is a handcrafted piece which is truly original. We love ours and bought it from this place several years back. If you don't want a large one you can by whatever size you like. In addition they have plenty of other traditional crafts as well. Bottom line is if you want an original piece from the island this is a spot to hit. They are located in Guavate which is a very touristy place to visit, so if you are on the island and what to support local artisans, this is a place to go.

We went to the gift shop across the street and were a little bit disappointed. As we walked out we spotted this one. The shopkeeper was closing up but kindly let us in to look, and boy are we glad she did! My husband bought one of the many beautiful leather bracelets. I bought an incredibly unique Christmas ornament, made from the same type of shell they use to make the local vejigante masks. I also bought a gorgeous paper mache fish. Parents bought stuff too. Everything hand painted and handmade by local artisans including the shopkeeper. Prices better than Old San Juan gift shops. Very happy we came here!

Call around noon to confirm they have lobster for the day, since the fishermen go out every morning. The lobsters were huge, at $11/lb - we should have gotten 2ppl/lobster - way too much lobster otherwise. Honestly, nothing beats Maine lobster; Caribbean lobster needs to be smoky grilled to mask some of the "silty" favor. Even with lots butter & lemon, they just don't hold a candle to ME lobster. It was still fun dish to try.
