The meal started with a salad which was very light. The next course was a çorba (soup), which was delicious but very buttery. Next, was chicken thighs topped with some greens and surrounded by an orange sauce. Finally, we had a mixed dessert platter, which contained pudding and various fruit sauces (mango, pumpkin). The meal ended with our choice of coffee or tea. During the meal, I was very impressed and delighted by all of the dishes. I especially enjoyed the dessert platter. However, a few hours later I realized that the food was contaminated because I was stricken with food poisoning on my five hour bus ride. The restaurant appeared to be very clean, but I believe the chicken was undercooked which caused me to become very ill. Overall, this is a very nice restaurant in a historical part of Ankara. However, I absolutely cannot recommend it after I had very bad food poisoning following my meal here. Beware of the chicken.

The beef cheeks, for example, can be perfect one night -tender and falling apart - but another time it seems like the substituted a different cut of meat completely - maybe the brisket which in their ravioli is quite nice. The menu is not terribly clear sometimes in it's English version (with some french thrown in - (pomme versus pomme de terre - very different), but generally they really do a great job of working with non-English speakers. Portions tend to be on the small side, but very well presented. Absolutely beautiful space and our server most recently, a young woman, was professional and welcoming. All and all, a welcome addition to Ankara. Also, no parking issues at Atakule, which is huge!

We went there for drinks and bites on a Friday afternoon, the hostess, whom we knew for several years now sit us inside although we asked for an outside table claiming they are all reserved and full. Turns out those tables were reserved only for us while they were available for another group of two. They came and freely picked whichever table they wanted. When we confronted the host regarding this very unethical behavior, especially considering we were old and good customers, the hostess claimed they sat with a condition of leaving in 1.5 hours, which we were never asked. Imagine how you would be treated like if they don't even know you.. I am not going back to this place. Such a sad incidence that indicates the obvious change in the value this place gives to their customers.
