Hotel restaurants are usually "no go" for me for more reasons than I can count. However, Prime is an exception. For starters, for a lobby restaurant I have never encountered more refined service ever. The service here is as refined as any high end five star restaurant anywhere. The servers here are amazing. Order a glass of wine, and take a look at the bar where you will find him/her swirling your glass to be sure your wine is perfectly aerated. The one miss-ordering a cocktail can be an adventure as it may take a while before you get your drink. But they can mix a mean margarita. Albeit, it's the Turkish version made with lemon as limes are not available in Turkey. But don't be afraid to give it a shot, as it does work and it's very tasty. Food presentation here is an art, almost to the point where you're afraid to take a bite into your meal. But you will give into temptation and after a while will be treated to perfectly crafted Italian inspired cuisine. And speaking of Italian, the pasta dishes are to die for. The zitti is amazing and not to be missed. Given the price point, this place is a bargain. read more
Above average for a hotel restaurant, especially considering that this Crowne Plaza has a largely captive audience given its location. The grilled vegetables were good but a bit over-cooked. The sea bass was perfect! Very moist and the filets were perfectly deboned. Breads were fresh and warm and came with a olive oil based dipping tray that had some bits of lemon, olives, and walnuts. Wait staff is courteous but some struggle with English. Bar service is very slow. WiFi is free but spotty. Although they have martini cocktail on the menu, they don't actually know how to make a proper one and the language barrier was too great to explain it. I ended up with sweet vermouth on ice in a martini glass with an olive and lemon peel, and gin in a separate glass on the side. read more
You're in Ankara , you're in the Crowne Plaza and you have to get up at 5:30 the next morning .You're not going into town. You check out the mall .You don't want to eat there and you figure - oh ,I'll go to the hotel restaurant- what else can I do? And it turns out to be really nice! They have a kebab menu , so you aren't stuck with mediocre versions of European food.I had a good Adana kebab and my fellow traveler had Lamb Kebab. Both of which were excellent. We had a good salad of the shepherds salad category .All accompanied by not unreasonably priced wine.Desert was rice pudding.Turkish rice pudding is not too ricey ( I wouldn't even call it rice pudding) and uniformly good. The place is on the top floor ,has a good view, and is calm and pretty. The waiter was low key , efficient and polite. This a place that shows you chain hotels can have good restaurants , if they try. read more
