If I have time to try it on in the middle of the store, how is that different than trying it on in a dressing room? On another occasion I asked for a shirt in a different size that was displayed both upstairs and down; I was told to go ask someone else if I saw it elsewhere in the store too. Don't go to this location; there are plenty of other 'We' stores in Amsterdam and you'll be bound to have better service at pretty much any of them.

Exota is almost like a souvenir shop. The clothing is just so typical for a certain type of Dutch…read morewoman. The young mother with her kids on her 'bakfiets' (like a delivery bicycle) riding along side the canals dressed in a flower print King Louie dress and wearing cowboy boots. You see these type of woman a lot here in Amsterdam :) and their favourite shop must be Exota. This is the place where you can buy those dresses. I actually love Exota. I really like those stereotypical dresses and think they are very lovely. I don't, however, have kids, do not own a bakfiets and never wear cowboy boots. I like Exota stuff combined with other brands and I do not go for the whole look. The clothing at this place is not very cheap so if you want to spend a little less you should definitely go to the Noordermarkt on a Monday morning because Exota sells their old stuff there for very low prices! You may have to fight some other hysterical woman there though since their stand is very popular.

Be prepared to be treated like a thief, and followed around this (very small) store. Stopped by here on a visit to Albert Cuypmarkt and I'm glad I did! They're have a unique selection…read moreof pieces that I didn't really see in other boutiques in Amsterdam. Prices are reasonable, but the sizes are pretty limited (maybe one size per piece). It's more of a boutique-style so if you see something you like and your size isn't on the racks ask the (really friendly!) employees. Happy with my purchase!
