The best vet I've ever gone to- and I've been to a lot! Very caring and kind. The entire staff is wonderful.

Dr Valentine has been with our dogs from puppies to passing. She is thoughtful, knowledgeable,…read morecaring and compassionate. She was with us when each of them passed away, and I truly felt she cared about them as much as we did. Dr Steele is another amazing and caring person and vet and we are so lucky to have had both of them care for our dogs, Obi and Moxie.

Just not a good experience. The one that got her shots started hacking within a couple of days. I…read morecalled to talk to doctor because it was awful to watch - she was spitting up foam. I was told by reception they would pass info on to Dr. Todd, but told me it is probably a side effect of getting the Bordatella shot. Fast forward a few more days and it's getting worse. So I called again. First person who took the message said she had Tracheobronchitis (now I know what that is as I worked 4 years for a vet when I lived in Chicago) - aka Kennel Cough. Doc didn't call back so I called again - second girl I spoke to said I'd have to wait until end of day because doctor schedule was full. I just hung up - doctor called back and said it was a 'flu that was going around' - why lie? It cost me $90 for the meds. When I went to get the meds the girl told me that the 'kennel cough' would start being relieved within a couple days of starting meds. So that evening - the second dog started with the coughing and spitting up - had to pay another $90 for meds for her kennel cough. Here in lies the problem - both dogs are 4 years old - and have been boarded at other places many times. NEVER had kennel cough - or whatever NFAH wants to call it - but if you're going there prepare yourself for this. It's highly contagious and if they were to properly sterilize exam rooms, properly verify animal vaccines before boarding and properly sterilize kennels it could reduce incidents. My dogs have not been in or near any other animals since January. This was a direct cause of taking them to NFAH. I trusted them. Paid over $250 for shots, then another $180 for meds to get rid of the kennel cough they contracted at NFAH. Shame shame.

I cannot overstate how much I appreciate this vet office. My dog had teeth extracted today. I went…read morein and said, "Can we please, like, write in capital letters 'NO GABAPENTIN' on her file because she has a bad reaction?" And they did! No placating, no empty promises. She took a pen and wrote it. It was incredibly validating. Also, they accidentally overcharged me for something, and THEY called ME to alert me to this. I would've never noticed. They alerted me and credited my account. They're so honest! 10/10 recommend this practice. Couldn't ask for more.

WARNING: If you have any anxious breed or dog at the vet do NOT see Patrick Vickers (pictured)…read more Patrick Vickers shouldn't be a Vet is he's not willing to work with heavily sedated anxious dogs who deserves to not be dismissed by impatient and unwilling doctors. The solution is always more sedatives, but even when my dog was heavily sedated on two medications and could barely walk up the stairs all day, Patrick Vickers dismissed us. He heard one small bark form my heavily sedated muzzled dog who was just frightened and shivering in a corner. He refused to care for him or even attempt to walk anywhere near my dog for no real reason. The third time with little to no attempt. Please know I will do everything in my power to let people with pit bull mixes and anxious dogs know they should NOT see Patrick Vickers. Do not waste your time it has been months of constant attempts at getting basic routine care only for your dog to be discriminated against. Please learn and do better because the one who suffers the most will be your poor dog.
