I was new to Modesto and contacted PrideStaff. They got me a job for that lasted 7 months in 2017. Eventually, I took a full time job at a different company. However, from start to finish Melissa was and still has been super helpful. I recently needed a typing test. I checked in with Melissa who I had not spoke to in months. I had a terrible experience with the woman scheduling my appointment. She made an appointment without me knowing then tried to mark it as a no show. I never said I was going in, she just made an assumption and then proceeded to become very argumentative, condescending and disrespectful all because she couldn't admit she had made a mistake. Drove 30 minutes to their office to find out they take appointment calls only. My advice, apply on their website l, create a profile, call the office. Do not drive to their office. I called in front of the office, the staffs were chatter boxes. They told me to apply online and someone will get back to me. One of their staffs got back to me offered me a few interviews for a job and even communicated thoroughly on text, sadly she left the company and no one notified me which means no one was looking at my profile. They end up getting a new lady, who's training. Kept giving me false hope to potentially getting job offers. None of the staff took accountability for their shortcomings. I came here ten minutes before 5 pm to find that they were closed, even though the hours are listed as being open until 5:30 pm. I discovered Pride Staffing through craigslist, i missed the job fair that they had posted but was able to come in for an individual appointment. I was given an appointment very quickly, went in filled out the paperwork in less than an hour, I was then directed and set up with an interview that same day!! Agree with all the negative reviews. I signed up with this agency several months ago. Have called in my availability every week...and been told, they will let "Melissa" know I called in. When I did actually get to talk to Melissa once she told me exactly what was stated in a prior review (and denied by the support person in the reply) and that was the fact that they list jobs for recruiting purposes and they aren't "real" positions but those jobs "come and go" so they never know when a clerical/payroll/admin assistant/office type job will be available. Don't waste your time with this agency. They don't return calls, they don't place people, and they don't even let you know any "why" so that you can plan around things. One time I had been in the office (since that was the only way to actually speak to someone) I walked in to do an updated assessment (with an appt) and asked to speak to Melissa when I was finished, I was told she had a meeting she was in, but that she would be able to see me afterward. I guess they didn't think I would wait, because I watched her come out of her meeting, get her lunch, eat her lunch, and then ask if I had been helped yet. I told her I had been waiting to speak to her since I hadn't heard back from her yet via phone, and wanted to know what positions were open or coming up in the next few weeks, if any. She then said I needed to have a face to face interview with another lady (Melissa's supervisor) Mind you, I have over 20 yrs experience in admin assisting, payroll, HR, etc. but I have been out of work more than a year and am trying to get back into a position. The supervisor said they were looking for someone for 2 positions and that I seemed to be a good fit. They then both told me they would submit my resume to the companies they were recruiting for and I would get a call the next morning (Friday) telling me time and date of my interview the next week. I never got a call and at 1pm on Friday when I called their office I was told Melissa had gone home for the day and the supervisor was off that entire day. I called Monday and neither person was available to take my call. This office is a bad example of how to do business. Please stay away from them!! read more

Last year in November 2018 I was laid off from my old mortgage processing job since my old company I worked for decided to downsize. I was an employee with my old company for over 5 years and during that time no mortgage companies were hiring due to the market downturn, however Melissa Stewart at Pride Staff was able to find me work in my field continuing my career as a loan processor with a great company at the beginning of 2019. I've been working with pridestaff for a couple years now. I've had a god experience until 2 girls left. Now only one girl was dealing with Getting me jobs. They keep sending me places that miscommunicate. Also they just sometimes will assume you know all the info about the job and they won't send you the text/Email explaining everything. THEY ALSO PLAY FAVORITES! They will send the same people places. ALSO. When you have a problem with the company... they don't try anything to fix it. They just say sorry and move on. I had an interview and they made me wait 3 weeks to find out that I didn't get the job. Meanwhile they could have been DOING THEIR JOB and finding me another. Had an appointment at 10:30 wasn't seen until about 1130 was told there was plenty of labor ready jobs asked for one in the meantime while I waited for another one they had me applying for Melissa refused to give me one tell me I had to wait until I got turned down for the other ones. Fast forward next day she calls around 12pm tells me the job interview is in Livingston (which she told me is only 20min away & the gps only says 35min if you do the speed limit ) but the job might be in Turlock she would call back to confirm I get my things ready. Never called back until the next day. Tells me the only other job she has and I let her know that I had already known about that position from another temp agency mind you this wasn't some hard labor position it was a one spot position the same company was trying to fill. I ask for anything any hard labor job to just work in the meantime she tells me there's nothing right now. OK I'll bite assuming she wasn't lying if you're reading this on a date close to the post date there's no jobs other then those two or this review is valid and so was the one star. These agencies get money for getting you hired so if they feel that you can fill a hire wage position they would rather hold you up from anything else even if you need the money in the meantime so that they can hopefully land your position that makes you more money and them.Unfortunately if you're looking to work immediately this is not gonna work for you which let's be honest most of us only go to these agencies to try and get some immediate work. I came in here desperate for a job, and there were open interviews. I never really had luck with agencies.... but this one was different. I went in, applied, had my interview and had been told to wait for them to contact me about a job opportunity. I come home from the interview and immediately get a call getting an opportunity! Understand that if you don't get contacted right away, it's because they're no jobs available, but the thing with this agency is there are so many jobs that comes and goes. This agency is great, but only for a certain line of work (i.e. warehouse work)... not all. After signing up with them, I called every week to do an update and see if they had anything available in the medical field. Every week was the same answer "no, but we'll update your profile." Once I called in and asked if there was anything available and the young lady who answered the phone quickly said no... but I hadn't even given her my name yet, so I asked if that "no" was for all areas of work. She put me on hold and a man got on the phone telling me there were two jobs available. I went to an interview for one of them, but they never contacted me back on if it was a yay or nay. Then one day a lady called me with a potential job offer, I told her I was interested. A week goes by and I hear nothing back from them, so I call for a follow-up, they didn't even know who I was or what the job was! After she found all information she said she hadn't heard back from the company yet, so sit tight. Next day a man calls me and wants to know if I'm still interested in that job opening because they hadn't heard from me in a while... honestly! After that I never heard from them again. I know times are tough right now, but if you don't have work for me, be honest! Instead of dragging me along and getting my hopes up. I'm moving onto a different agency. read more

I've dealt with many temp services throughout my professional career and understand that there may be some communication issues but this Pridestaff location is the worse. Went to one interview with them and the female recruiter who shall remained unnamed, never followed up with the determination of the client. I called twice and even left messages with the people for her to return my call and no response. Never again... After reading these reviews, this sounds like the norm for them. This office is nothing but a joke!!! I worked for them, completed the assignment, did not miss even one day, stayed on longer and turned down a job for the employer who themselves are a joke. Pride staff does not care if you are a hard worker and do your job, miss no days and simply make them look good when they DO NOT deserve it. What is even worse is MELISSA who works in this office will give you nothing but a generic answer you are of no importance when they are filling jobs. The girl at the front desk was very rude to me. I walked in with my resume and explained to her I am a Veteran who has been struggling to find work the last 4 months as I have a steel plate in my arm with 6 screws. I have years of forklift experience from the military and civilian world and she could only focus on my 4 month gap in work history even though I told her I had been looking for work the entire time and doing odd jobs. I have a certified OSHA forklift certification and she told me "forklift certification doesn't mean anything". She was implying experience is what mattered. Pridestaff was very helpful from start to finish for me. With computer testing, they let me retake one in their office because my computer had difficulties with the software. I started out with a two week long assignment only about 48 hours after I completed the interview with Pridestaff. My two weeks turned into 3, then a month, then provisional for hire. I was hired on by the company Pridestaff placed me with, and I've been there about 10 months now. Pridestaff was personable and understanding of my needs. Their staff was always friendly and helpful. I explained that I recently worked at Tesla and then walked out. They are foul, they are not forthcoming and they are vague in their response when you ask them questions regarding the employer or specific job requirements. When this office was located in Stockton, they were my 'go to' reliable agency. Because I had worked several successful assignments through them I always felt I could count on Pride Staff to place me. If I were in between jobs, I knew I could count on Pride Staff........that was until they moved to Modesto, SMH. I've never had a problem with reliability or lacking a good work ethic, so when I re-registered (providing I'9 info) started calling in my availability, I figured like in the past, I would get a call in a few days and presented with an opportunity or two, but I got no call. I called and was given the name and email addy of the clerical representative out of the office, so I called and emailed her...no call back, no email. I called back a week later, AGAIN no call back. Maybe they are NOW just placing 'CERTAIN' people who walk through the door. When I voiced my complaint, I was told they have new staff and they are in the training process.......yeah right. Simply put - THIS BUSINESS IS A SCAM!! It's apparent that the owner doesn't care about the reviews and lack of follow up by her staff, as she's never in and never returns calls. Please note that the complaints are the same from many reviewers - lack of follow up and placement, rudeness, etc. On other websites, the owner has a standard 'I apologize for the poor service you received from my staff, please contact me at....' response, noting the generic business phone number as her contact number. But never leaves her direct phone number, nor her email. Additionally, it seems that she and other staffing consultants are rarely in - go figure... Just a very insulting and unprofessional experience!!! If the owner cares so little, why doesn't she just retire and sell or close her business!? read more

I showed up to the Modesto office for an Administrative Job Fair as advertised. Upon arrival, a handful of people were waiting and the receptionist was preoccupied. While sitting in the cramped lobby, the receptionist was giving an applicant a hard time for showing up 30 minutes before the "Job Fair" was over and not completing the online application beforehand. From working several years in staffing - I know this is ample time and not a fuss that needs to be brought up. After about 5 minutes it was my turn and although the receptionist was pleasant, she too, tried to tell me that with 20 minutes before the end time, it would be a tight squeeze. After sharing my work experience, she informed me the Admin Recruiter was not even there for the Admin Job Fair they had advertised! I would need to schedule a later appointment. No apology was offered. When asked if there was anybody else I could interview with, knowing the industry and having qualified experience, it would be a quick interview - they said no one else was able to cover. Waste of time and dismissive staff. From this impression and several reviews from past employed contractors, I don't recommend this agency. read more
