I'm really grateful that I finally decided to take steps to improve my health/fitness and highly recommend Train & Nourish for all women, especially beginners. Brenna is super nice and flexible with her schedule. She also adapts my training to my fitness goals and ability level, encouraging me to push myself without going overboard. I am extremely unfit (like, "unable to do a squat" unfit) and I've already improved within a month (ten squats, lol!). The once-a-week schedule is good because I can apply the exercises into my workouts in my apartment gym. During personal training, you will see other trainers/clients but everyone is extremely friendly and non-judgemental. T&N is especially good for people who feel self conscious in regular gyms. The group classes are great and exhausting, but I think individualized personal training can help someone who truly has no clue what they're doing in the gym. One-on-one is helpful in correcting posture and learning how to use equipment safely without hurting yourself. As my fitness gradually improves and I become more confident, hopefully I will be able to transition into group classes and keep up with everyone else.

He finds ways to personally connect with each and every member of the gym. He trains teens to middle age adults with an individualized approach. In the less than a year he has been open he has helped several people do their first strongman competition, helped one newer competitor turn pro, and most importantly has helped people train around pre-existing injuries, pregnancies, surgeries and the range of other things life has thrown at them. I came to this gym as a retired fighter wanting a new challenge and because Zach had a history of successfully coaching many female athletes. As a female athlete it can be very difficult to find male trainers who will fully invest in your training and also have great boundaries. I can't recommend this gym more highly to people of all genders and abilities.

We had been taking some boot camp classes together and she kept saying I had to try ranger training. I actually used to walk by these crazy people at 6am in Rittenhouse when I walked to spin class, but with Versafit now defunct, and the sun rising too late to get in my morning run, I decided to become one of these people. I got a great deal from groupon and after returning from vacation finally gave the ranger training a try. My first experience was a positive one. There were about 8 people in the class, and we started right away with a few sets of jumping jacks. I pretty much didn't stop moving for the entire 45 minutes with running, push-ups, burpees, mountain climbers, tricep dips, and high knees all part of the routine. Sgt. Nate expects you to do what he says, but it doesn't seem like he would make you do anything you really can't do. He's also very firm with his instructions, and if you don't follow them expect to do some extra push-ups, but he's encouraging and didn't yell at anyone. He really seems committed to helping people get healthy. I'm definitely looking forward to continuing with it.

After 6 to 8 weeks of recovery pain* I'm now at a point where I feel only gentle "reminders." Bonus points & stars to Sgt. Nate because he always has the perfect stretch to alleviate my muscle woes. My results speak loud and clear - as amazing yelpers Christine B & Katrina C can also attest. When I started in the beginning of October I was not able to complete a full push up, I could do 23 rowers (situps) in 1 minute & run a mile in 7:47. Two months with Sgt. Nate and I can now do 20 real push-ups & 37 rowers in a minute as well as run a mile in 7:17. Thanks Sarg & all my fellow PTFers I couldn't have done it without you! *Note: I did NOT have a strict workout regimen before joining PTF, hence my blubbery muscles & associated recovery pain from Ranger Training workouts.

I also love Crossfit Love because I have seen results in both my body and my performance. The coaches were kind of not into it. One time when our group was ready to work out the couch was over where some guys were weightlifting in the back and one of them asked him "are you ready for the class" and he said in a sad, pathetic voice "ugh no, not really" ... like he didn't want to be bothered with us. Many times during class the coach I had would not be paying attention to us and on his phone texting so we would miss reps. He said, just pay attention to the clock. At times I would finish last and the rest of the group would be finished and by the time I got back in from my run the coach would be long gone... like in the office or with his friends in the back. Not very encouraging. The overall facility is very unorganized as far as getting people set up with their online accounts, payment questions and generally just getting ahold of them. Called at least 5 different times to ask about a class time question and no one ever answers the phone. Ended up driving there. Their voice mail is always full, it's unprofessional not to have these things buttoned up. "Ask us a question on Facebook and we will get back to you" is not acceptable. I didn't finish the program...that's my fault but I must say the staff didn't make it a very fun or encouraging experience. The place feels more like a couple of guys who bought some weights, bought a warehouse and decided to open it to the public without a great deal of thought or organization. Oh well, I tried it. Others might have a better experience. If I could suggest to the owner some key points for improvement from an outsiders view: *Have dynamic encouraging and dedicated coaches to motivate people. *You must figure out a way to have a dedicated phone service that is answered reliably by a person each and every time. Secretary or something should be in the budget. It's bad for business not to have this. Many classmates complained of this as well. *A cleaner more welcoming "holding area/locker room" for storage. Clean out the clutter.
