I almost fell of my bike when I spotted this place. I'd never ventured this far up Port Road…read morebefore, but I'm glad I did. Banquet Food Wholesalers is like Gaganis Bros, but BIGGER and BETTER. And sells booze. Lots of it. Ohhh Italian food makes me so happy. Italian wines make me even happier. Here they sell many varieties that I haven't see in bottle shops in Australia (as well as some local wines that you do see around). They have a huge range of spritzers and flavoured liqueurs. And they do a lot of deals if you buy in bulk. Half of the store is canned and packaged goods, very similar to Gaganis Bros in terms of product, price and set out. It feels very much like a wholesaler in this part. The section that got me really excited was the enormous deli. They have two separate delis here, one for cured meats and cheeses and antipasto, and another for meats. And they are both huge. Their prices here are not overly cheap, but the quality looks great. Then there is the frozen section, with finger-food, fish, frozen veges and frozen fresh pasta. I was giddy after a while spent browsing through the whole place. I desperately wanted to eat everything! (Preferably cooked, but some I would chow straight into.) And, of course, there is a sweets section, mostly biscotti. I find the sweets one of the least exciting things about Italian cooking, but if you like them, there are plenty of authentic tasties here. If only it were a little cheaper, this would be my new favourite place on earth. Or at least in the Adelaide Western Suburbs.

I've discovered this shop recently and keep going back. They have a huge selection of food and…read morewines to serve at a party without spending a fortune. They also operate like a regular deli selling amounts suited for every day and have some terrific discounts.

Bunnings Woodville is more than just a hardware store -- it's a weekend ritual, a problem-solver,…read moreand sometimes even a family outing. I've been to several Bunnings around Adelaide, but this one stands out for size, staff friendliness, and how well-organised everything is. The Woodville location is huge, but not overwhelming. Aisles are clearly signed, and the layout flows naturally from tools and trade to garden, paint, storage, lighting, timber, and outdoor. Everything feels tidy and well-stocked, even on weekends. What I especially like about this store is that they never feel like they've just been hit by a stampede of Sunday tradies -- the shelves are organised, the displays are neat, and you can actually find what you're looking for without asking five different people. This is where Woodville Bunnings really shines. Every time I've been in, I've had genuine, helpful service, even when they're clearly busy. I once had a staff member walk me across the store to find the exact type of drill bit I needed and explain the difference between Phillips and Pozidriv. (Didn't know that was a thing. Now I do.) They don't rush you, they don't give vague answers, and they always try to find a solution. If they don't know, they'll radio someone who does -- and that kind of teamwork is appreciated when you're confused in aisle 17 holding a tap connector and no clue what you're doing. The outdoor section is well-maintained and surprisingly beautiful for a warehouse store. There's a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants, herbs, pots, soil, mulch, and fertilisers -- and the prices are honestly very fair. They even have regular sales and "plant of the month" promos, which is dangerous for my wallet but great for my balcony garden. Okay, let's talk about the national treasure: the weekend sausage sizzle. Woodville's BBQ crew never misses. Perfectly cooked snags, fresh bread, onions done right, and the classic tomato sauce or mustard option. $3.50 for happiness in a bun. It's worth the visit alone. And yes -- they take card now, which is a game-changer. Tons of parking out front, plus a loading bay area for larger items. It does get hectic during peak times (Saturday 11am, anyone?), but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a park. Easy access for trailers, utes, and tradie vans. There's also a drive-through timber yard, which is a blessing if you're picking up long sheets or bulky items. Checkouts are smooth, with plenty of self-serve stations as well as friendly cashiers if you need help with trade cards, gift vouchers, or bulk orders. Returns are also hassle-free. I returned an unused light fitting two weeks after purchase with the receipt -- no drama, no guilt-trip, just a fast refund. If you're a DIYer, gardener, tradie, hobbyist, or just someone who likes walking around Bunnings for life inspiration, Woodville is a top-tier location. Great team, great stock, and a smooth, easy shopping experience every time. It's the kind of place where you walk in for a can of paint and walk out with soil, a new hose, a Bunnings bucket, 6 plants, a Ryobi drill, and a sausage in hand. Would I recommend it? Without a doubt. It's the gold standard of Bunnings in Adelaide.
