I was charged $15,000 by Paulette Pagan, for a misdemeanor. After three months of representation, she never asked me a single question and then came back to me with the same exact offer the public defender got me, telling me that if I did not accept it, she was quitting, which she did. When I asked for my file, with all the information, I am legally entitled to, she left out all the correspondence between herself and the district attorney, raising serious questions about collusion. And when I demanded this information, David Benowitz, told me to have a lawyer contact him for it...? So in order to get the information I am legally entitled to, this guy thought I was going to pay another $15,000 to another Lawyer, which I didn't do. When I asked for a list of the evidence that she submitted, Benowitz refused to provide that to me as well. I plan on suing this firm and having both of these lawyers disbarred. read more

Patrick Woolley sounded nice at the first conversation. Then after discussing the case he sounded even better. This is not the same person that appeared at court or in any instance for the nearly 1 year it took to file and address something as simple as a License Reinstatement service. After months since hiring(June), not only did he "forget" to ask me for an extra payment to start the proceedings for an entire month after our last communication(September)(3 months after me paying him in full). He didn't even respond to my phone calls or emails for the same time period, when I asked what was happening. Once he received the additional payment(October) he didn't even file it for nearly 30 days after the fact. After this, he ignored my emails and phone calls again and took an additional 2 or so months to follow up telling me that court was to blame. When I thought something wasn't right I asked for proof of filing the motion by way of receipt request. To this date (06/08/23) I have yet to receive that receipt. As per the states website it appears he waited until the end of October to submit the first filing(this process began in June/July). We finally got a court date, but when that date came he was late by atleast 30 min. Imagine being the only party in a court room by yourself waiting for your lawyer to arrive and the judge taking a recess because YOU had the time to show up, but your lawyer didn't. Then everything he promised he would ask for, meaning immediate restricted or full restoration, he didn't, at every single court hearing. After another court appearance he came unprepared and blamed me, for not sending him something the ASAP program should have, and he said "I hope the judge got the ASAP evaluation since I didn't or we will have to come back in one month". As if he couldn't realize he was missing important information about the case prior to the court date. After that court date, Patrick stated he would file the paperwork the same day but was ignorant to the fact that he needed to do anything else. It took nearly another 40 something days to file the next part because, and I quote "I thought you already got your restricted license and have been driving around, but it appears that I need to file another handwritten request." Following the final court appearance he neglected to mention he didn't know that he had to file more paperwork with the courts to complete the application and he ignored my emails and phone calls asking for updates. 26 days later, I said I was considering filing a complaint with the VA state bar. The same day he responded, apologizing and stating he didn't file the paperwork that was needed, and apologized that he didn't know he needed to. After the complaint notification he sent me an email stating he concluded my case as he "completed the contract" even though upon further review by myself and the Firm Operations Director for Price Benowitz, the contract states his services are until the completion of this first filing. I posted other reviews and was offered a settlement to remove my reviews, but after understanding that this is repetitive of this lawyer Patrick Woolley, and his company to silence the negative reviews with mediocre offers, I would rather not accept this and let the world know that Patrick Woolley and Price Benowitz are not the way to go. Stay away from Patrick Woolley at bare minimum, but the representation at the higher levels within the firm do not reflect their mission statement of "Let us put our full support behind you.". If I had to sum up my experience with Patrick Woolley and Price Benowitz LLP in one word it would be 'disappointing'. I found their services to be lacking in professionalism, transparency and respect for me as a client. Although there were significant delays in filing my case and lack of communication between the law firm and myself, the main issue I had, in my opinion, was the incompetence displayed by Patrick Woolley. During the court proceedings Mr. Woolleys performance left much to be desired. He agreed to terms without consulting or seeking consent from me. What was more troubling was his lack of understanding of these terms; he had to look them up on his phone outside the courtroom. This demonstrated a level of unpreparedness and lack of knowledge that genuinely surprised me. In conclusion, my experience with Patrick Woolley and Price Benowitz LLP made me feel undervalued as a client and dissatisfied with their service. Of course, one of the things I wanted from the initial consultation was whether or not there was a cass to pursue. 10+ Star Review for Attorney Matt Crowley with Price Benowitz (He's located on Judicial Drive, right outside the Fairfax County Courthouse, just google him or call Price Benowitz) Let me start by saying that I suffer from anxiety and depression and when I charged in February of this year with Five (5) yes, five felonies, I thought I would just die. I did research on finding an attorney that would be sensitive to this and at the same time understand the severity of the nature I was under. I had never gotten into trouble with the law, other than a few speeding tickets, etc. This was all under Fairfax County mind you. My charges were the following: credit card fraud, credit card forgery, identify theft, and two others that were all related to the ones I mentioned. Needless to say, I was scared, and I knew I did nothing wrong, but that it was all a misunderstanding. For anyone that is reading this, you have to hire Matt. He is worth every penny. I have nothing to gain from this and didn't think the outcome would be what is was, I got ALL CHARGES dismissed. Yes dismissed in August 2016. I can't tell you how scared I was at the possibility of having a felony or a reduced misdemeanor charge on my record as I work for a living and I knew that could affect me in the future.
