We were enjoying ourself in a small circle just a few steps from so called "DJ " Punchbowl Pete. One of our friends touched Christmas decorations which were dangling above his head .Then Punchbowl Pete without any word of explanation or warning approached him rapidly from behind and hit the back of his head with his fist. Then equally rapidly he withdrew himself back behind the console. So when our friend turned back he could not even see who the hell hit him. And rest of us who were in front of him, even if we could see it all very well, we gazed confused and surprised by such state of affairs. I have to say I've been to many places and I've seen many things but I've never encountered such outrageous behaviour of a owner of the establishment towards his customers. To me such thing is no more no less but a criminal offence. However, all of you who are reading this review, please be advised, you don't have to expose yourself to this kind of treatment

So, we've been trying out a few local take away places in Spalding and came across Golden Lee which is fab! Really good size portions which have amazing sauces and made for a perfect family meal. We have two teenage sons so we have quite a few mouths to fill up!!! Very good sweet and sour pork, excellent spring rolls and the best chicken and pineapple we've ever had. We were told to arrive between 8.30 and 9.00pm due to how 'busy' they would be. We arrived at 8.50 to a restaurant with 3 full tables and the proceeded to be told we were late de3spite us not receiving a set time for our table. The food was ok at best, although my first 2 choices were sold out (I was told they only keep limited stock in to keep it fresh) but it was rather lukewarm and I have to say all of my party felt the same and left unsatisfied. On the 3rd occasion my partner and I went for 'Rib Night' on a Sunday at around 7.30. We were greeted by no one as 3 members of staff sat on the far side of the restaurant and we had to call them over. The restaurant was completely empty and when we asked if they were still serving we were told: "Yeah but we are closing soon because it's quiet." We weren't offered a table at this point and it was quite clear we weren't welcome so we decided to leave and opted to visit Indus where thankfully we had an excellent night and fantastic meal as always. To summarise, worth a shout for a roast lunch on a Sunday but I'd avoid on an evening. The owner is friendly but the staff sadly are not.

However, we were very disappointed with this restaurant and in particular the service. We were put off the minute we arrived as the 3 men in our party ordered 3 draft beers. However, when we watched them at the bar we saw tins of John Smiths being poured into the glasses. When we questionned why we were paying £3.60 for a tin of beer when it was advertised as draft, we were told they had run out of draft and that we would still have to pay the full amount. Also, on the evening we went there was a group of thirty in the restaurant for a Christmas Party (even though it was nearly February) which we were not warned of when we booked the table. The party was extremely noisy and you could not even hear the conversation on our table. Although the noise was not necessarily their fault, the way the management handled it was not good, and they even tried to tell us there was nothing they could do. Our fun night out with friends was definately ruined by poor management.

I'd love them to do delivery but as it stands I'll gladly park on the supermarket car park at the back and collect as it's worth it not to be disappointed with delivery from other places in town. Prices are about town average, or maybe 10p per dish more, but when it's good, who cares about 10p?! :)
