Stopped here for a cuppa tea after walking around Spital market and browsing the vintage stores of brick lane.. It's a tiny place with about five tables but today as the rain poured so did the people.. And it got really hot and bothered.. I didn't fancy any of their cakes.. However I notes their rainbow cake was a tad popular with the crowds. I got an English breakfast tea. And I love the way it's served in pretty China cups.. However the tea itself wasnt as hot as I would of liked. I think it's a quaint little store.. But lukewarm tea knocked a star off it..

Small cafe with cute interior. Loved the matcha latte because it had very strong matcha flavor to it. A bit pricy though.

Stumbled past here during the Sunday market and bee-lined it inside for the delicious scones I spotted in the window. It did not disappoint! Lovely cuppa and the scone was so tender and perfect. Cream and jam were delightful. My husband's mocha was delicious. An absolute treat. So happy to have come in.

I did not expect this small cafe to make such an amazing matcha latte.

Can't say I am all that impressed though. Red Velvet Cupcake - The frosting is so sweet and the Cake a little on the dry side. I like my Cakes to be moist. They're pricey too at £2.65 a pop. I thought paying the equivalent of £1.90 - £2.20 a Cupcake was a lot in California but I can't say I didn't expect it here in Britain as everything is more expensive. I do like the location of the Bakery, right near where my Hubby used to work and less than a mile from our beloved Thai Van (best Yellow Chicken Curry in The City btw!). Aside from the regular sized Cupcakes they also sell mini Cupcakes (£1.35) Brownies (£2.50-$3.75) and Whoopie Pies (£3.25) as well as whole Cakes from Sponge (£22 upwards) to Cheesecake (£26) and Pies (Pumpkin, Pecan, Mississippi Mud (£32-£36) ect. *There are also 3 other locations around London with the newest being in Islington in the Angel Building as well as a Food Truck (look at me becoming all ''American'').. or Van I guess I should be calling it that serves local Festivals.

I initially wanted/ordered a particular cake, after paying for it they realised they didn't actually have it in stock and when I said, to just leave it and asked to have my money back as I felt none of the other cakes were appropriate for my brother they, they refused saying that when a transaction has gone through on the till they cannot return the money. So finally I had to settle on a different cake which had to be re-iced in order to make it suitable. The cake looked pretty good, but to be honest it isn't that hard to make chocolate look good. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed would've been better off buying an Iceland's gateau. The cake was stale, I can only imagine how long it had been since it was made. Admittedly the icing wasn't terrible but the cake was so bad that my brother who would usually eat anything, including my awful cooking couldn't stomach more than two spoonfuls. Everyone that was served the cake ended up throwing it away, we still had half the cake left which also had to be thrown away. Waste of money. If you're looking for a cake from an asian store you're better off going to Banoful across the road from this place, or better yet my personal favourite - Patisserie Valerie in Spitafields is a good choice, definitely worth the money.

On my last visit, a coworker told me about this little gem, which is not far from Lloyd's. It was a freezing cold day, I didn't have a coat, but I still went on the journey to Konditor & Cook. They have such a huge variety of cakes, brownies, and other sweet treats, along with coffees and other beverages. I got the lemon cake, which came highly recommended - it was amazing! I also had a hot chocolate (I don't drink coffee often), but my coworker had a latte and it looked good. I know they are typically known for their cakes but the lunches here give you quick access to homemade classic dishes. If you go I highly recommend the Boston Brownie, Raspberry Chequerboard Cake and the Millionaire Shortbread from the bakery. My only issue: Take the mushrooms out of the Mac n Cheese! Seriously, who puts mushrooms in mac n cheese???
