This is my go-to spot for beautiful hardwood lumber. It's all air-dried but if you're ok with milling it down and either kiln drying it yourself or giving it the time and conditions to properly air-dry, you will not find better prices anywhere! Every time I drive up to Doughton Park, I stop by here to buy more lumber for my hobby woodshop. For what I save on wood here, I have no problem putting in the extra work to dimension it and stack it in a well-ventilated building for later use. Most of the lumber measures about 15-18% moisture. If I mill that down to 4/4 (1") thick stock, after a few months it's usually measuring ~ 9-12% which is stable enough for putting to use in making furniture. What I like most about buying from this gentleman here is he is super friendly, always remembers me, and all the wood comes from our beautiful NC land. read more
