Really an 0 star company, only gave a 1 star because you have to select something. I will try and sum this up but I know they will come back with some more lies so... Would never rent from them again!!! Move in ready=broken tile, missing blinds, filthy (food on walls, cabinets, and in drawers) floor grout was pretty much black but it was cleanable because my tineco cleaned it, human waste all over the toilet, the doors all had daylight coming thru, ceiling fan hanging on by wiring, sinks not attached, appliances broken, animals in the attic running around at night, faulty wiring, dryer exhaust clogged by inhabitants of rodents, mailbox that usps had refused to deliver to and so much more. This is their ideal of move in ready. As items were found they were notified. Shoot I even felt bad because they excessive amount of issues. But I was told they just got the property and they needed to know so they could fix it all. Well some things were addressed for instance they sent someone to look at the stove he attempted to fix it however the main burner didn't work he said he needed some parts and then he never came back. Same issue with the sink guy, he came and gave a price and that was the last we heard. But let's also keep in mind this was months down the road. At one point I was told (which I also have corresponding emails to prove) that the office had some drama going on and that was the reason our stuff wasn't taken care of. I was injured due to the negligence of the property's upkeep. So this is just some of the issues we lived and dealt with. So we moved out and they decided to take it upon themselves to break Alabama law on returning our refund. They never notified us of any charges and never returned the 2k we paid. We were patient and when we started to ask about our refund, we were never told anything about them keeping and we thought we were getting it back. Contacted the attorney generals office and they basically told the AG that the items that were existing prior to our move in were items we damaged. So the AG basi y said we have to seek the court system to try get our money back. It was then brought to light they stated we never returned the garage door opener and keys. However I had pictures of them in the mailbox. They also stated a portable hot tub was left, not sure how when we gave it to a friend of ours. They went and took pictures a day before we were officially moved out. We never missed a payment and the home was left in better condition than we got it in. The owner of prestige was made aware of all of this throughout the entire process and then it was brought directly to his attention and he laughed and said we were liars and said good luck trying to do anything he isn't touchable. So with all that at the end of the day just do your research on what company to rent from, because this one is shady and unethical! read more

We rented a house in Auburn for as most 2 years. We were told lawn service was included in the rent but they would never send anyone out so we had to pay out of pocket for lawn service every 2 weeks. We had to replace the water filter in the fridge, $50. Plus we also bought huge rocks to put in the back yard by the patio so it wouldn't be do muddy, over $300. When we moved out, I cleaned the house but according to them it was disgusting, a straight lie, and our master bedroom smelled like dog urine. We did have dogs but they were not allowed in the bedroom. So that was a lie!! They are trying their best not to send us our $1800 deposit back. Not recommended!!!! read more

I called Cecilia at Prestige Properties earlier today to confirm receipt of our application documents to her email which she had used to send us information about the property (it was Gmail account, but it was clearly from Prestige because I had just called her about the property). When I called her to confirm receipt, she told she had not received it and that I had used the wrong email address (even though I had replied to the email that I had received from her). She gave me her "correct" email (still a Gmail account). I confirmed this with her several times. I then sent the applications to that address instead. I later received an email back from a Cindy saying that we had the wrong email. I have now sent both of our Social Security Numbers and personal information to a random person, because Cecelia could not give me her own contact information. Extremely unprofessional. After living in Auburn for almost 15 years and going through ALL the rental companies, I can honestly say that Prestige is the best! They are professional, kind and make me feel valued not only as a tenant, but also as a member of a family. When moving to a college town can be difficult to find a place to rent that isn't a total party pad or a house that actually feels like a home. I raised my daughter in the house that I rent from Prestige, and now SHE is renting from them also! Highly recommend read more

I don't know who these two folks are who posted such damaging reviews, but MY experience with Prestige Properties has been stellar. On the occasion of needing repairs, there has been little to no wait time. Sometimes being a nice respectful renter gets matters settled better than being so combative. read more

I give a negative of infinity at this point. We had to move to Opelika due to a job offer, we worked with Prestige because of a fellow employee referred us. They are almost the single worst agency I ever met or had to deal with. They leased a unit right out from under us, then they never took care of the house, it was a disaster and we spent over several hundred dollars getting the mold, dirt, rotten wood, and other concerns were taken care of. The owners even came by to thank us. We made sure it was a lot better than we got and as a reward Prestige took every opportunity in the clause to return our deposit. They had no issue take it our money, but when we took care of them they just acted like the slum lords they are. I would rent from any of these and if I was an owner I stay away! I would never rent from these folks. This has no reflection on Cindy, she was just apart of the cast! read more

Terrible, terrible rental department. I have been living in my home for a year and a half (I was told I had to sign an 18-month lease because they only do leases from July-August, and unfortunately, my job began in February). Since moving in, I have called to complain about the dishwasher not washing dishes SEVEN TIMES! After two of those calls, someone was sent out to "look" at the dishwasher. It still isn't fixed. The apartment was advertised to have a working dishwasher -- it doesn't -- and I was never notified by maintenance or Faye that anyone was coming to my house -- and this is a violation of Alabama law! Every time I call about an issue, they interrupt me and tell me to call the police/my neighbors/repairman/anyone but them. Still trying to figure out what they do. After I made three attempts to come by their office to sign a lease renewal between 4:45 and 4:55 to find they decided to close early those days, I received a threatening and unprofessional letter (with my name mispelled, no less) demanding I come by their office or be evicted. I'm not a college student, I'm a professional making more than $100k/year -- you couldn't ask for a more responsible tenant. And just as another point to note: they are blatantly racist. I'm white, but on two occasions in the office, I've seen rental staff be incredibly rude to black customers, talking down to them, asking them what they're doing in there, telling them properties are too expensive, etc. Maintenance is slow if it happens at all, they routinely violate tenant protection laws, they don't return phone calls, they're incredibly unprofessional, and they're racists ... AVOID PRESTIGE AT ALL COSTS. Seriously, they suck. read more

RUDE AND RACIST!!!!!!!!! I called Prestige Properties realty group after becoming interested in a house that was for rent on Trulia. The man on the phone advised me to have my license with me when I stopped by the realty office so that I can pick up a key to view the house. Upon arriving at the office I was told to wait for the same man that I spoke with on the phone to end his phone conversation with someone else. So after waiting at least 5 minutes for his phone conversation to end he finally asked me what he could help me with. I told him I was there to view a property. He responded with "excuse me" and followed his response with a bewildered look on his face. So I said again, " I'm here to view a property". So he asked me what the address was. After giving him the address he looked at me and said that the property was $1400 a month. I said okay. And then he went on to ask me if I was a student. I said yes. Then he said that the house was not student housing....Which I already knew and didn't have a problem with so I said okay. He finally went on to say that I cant rent the property because I'm a student and they will not rent this property to students. Next, he told me he had a duplex that would be available in one week and that I would be able to rent that instead. He then gave me a key with a number and street on it which was the address to the duplex. So I drive 5 minutes down the road and then turn down a street which was filled with many duplexes, most of which had ragged grass lawns, broken doors, and unkept yards. I immediately wondered if I was in a government subsidized area. So I find the duplex and go in only to be attacked by many pests surrounding the door knob, such as gnats. Upon entry into the duplex the air smelled of rust, mold, dirt, and old furniture. The carpet was dark brown so that any spots would not be seen and the walls were of old wood. The bathroom was dirty and the tile was peeling and rusted. The kitchen was not renovated and the dishwasher was protruding from the counter with which it should've been attached. The whole place was dark and gloomy. Everything was dark brown and old wood. The lawn had weeds in it. Honestly, I couldn't believe this man had the audacity to put this apartment up for viewing. The fact that this man even gave me a key to a place like this is disrespectful and racist. When I called back and asked him if he, himself, would live in a place like that he told me that "he don't know because he's never even been to the area"!!!!! I will never respect or recommend Prestige Properties realty group to any student, person of color, or young person because this was truly an indirect act of discrimination! read more

My experience with the Prestige Properties Rental Management Department has been great. Mrs. Faye has delivered professional and prompt responses to my tenants as well as myself to any concerns or complaints. My tenants are happy and so am I.
