Posting this mainly to encourage the owners to improve communication with customers. The owner is very kind, but the lack of communication is extremely frustrating. I arrived Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. to pick up my dry cleaning to find the doors locked, even though the "open" sign was on. I waited in the parking lot for over 30 minutes, called repeatedly, and never reached anyone. I returned a little after 2:00 p.m. and the doors were still locked. I even knocked around back with no response. I continued calling for the next hour with the same result. When I came back Thursday, I was told by the owner's wife she had to leave and he was running late. I understand things happen, but a simple note on the door with a return time would have prevented a lot of frustration. I needed my dry cleaning early Thursday morning, so the lack of communication really created a problem. They recently purchased this business, and I genuinely wish them the best, but clearer communication with customers is essential. read more

I am AMAZED. 31 years ago - Prestige cleaned and preserved my wedding gown. With a lot of trepidation, I peeled it open just now (31 years later) to check the condition in case my engaged daughter wants to wear it. The two outer boxes were damp (my fault, not theirs) so I had a sinking feeling the condition would not be good. I got to the inner plastic wrapped box...couldn't see the gown yet, but saw that the tissue paper showed no signs of any damage. And voila - beyond the tissue - the dress is pristine. Not necessarily the quickest dry cleaner I've used in the area, but their attention to detail can't be beat. I had dropped off a sweater with a small hole in it to be cleaned and they repaired the hole without me even asking them to, so well that it took me a while to find where it was! In general I am pretty hard on my things, but everything I took to them for cleaning came back actually looking brand new. read more

I used to go to another cleaners down the street but it recently closed. I tried going to a couple cleaners around this area, but I ended really liking Prestige Cleaners. They are great at removing stains that other cleaners couldn't, and their next day dry cleaning has been very useful. The clothes here come out much better than my previous dry cleaners, but the prices are also higher. read more

Stopped by Prestige about 30 minutes ago. Their sign outside says "One Day Cleaning". I went in and asked what time tomorrow morning I could pick up my suit if I dropped it off now. The owner (?) - middle aged Asian guy with glasses and an accent who was reading the newspaper when I walked in - laughed and said: "What do you think this is? A restaurant?" Needless to say I will never bring any business to this place. read more

I have been using Prestige Cleaners for a year for my weekly business and casual clothes and linens. Their attention to detail and service has been consistently superb. Prices are quite reasonable. Suits, shirts, slacks, & jeans come back well done and packaged nicely, as do bed linens. Owners generally have classical music playing on the radio. Not the quickest, but great results. read more

I was driving all the way to Birmingham to get my good clothes cleaned and knew there had to be a better alternative closer to home. I got a recommendation from a friend who said Prestige does a great job. I've gone there a few times and have been very happy. Sent my son to get his shirts laundered there and suddenly the label on one shirt was going to increase the cost. Ironically the other shirts he had in his pile were more expensive than the "label" shirt (The owner recognized Burberry but not designer Italian). My son realized they had no idea what they were talking about and took his business elsewhere. I just got back to the house after trying to get a suit dry cleaned. (St. John knit which I purchased at a resale shop:) The label was recognized as being "expensive" and would cost me $75 to clean. I thought the owner was kidding me and he said it is expensive suit and will be $75 to clean. Mind you they cleaned the same suit a year ago and it was a bit more than I usually pay but well below $75. Obviously walked out of Presitge with my suit in hand. Will run to Birmingham and pay much less than $75... read more

Danger Will Robinson! This guy is the most expensive cleaner around. I continued to pay his prices because of the reviews that said he stands behind his work. Then he ruins one of my shirts and asks me if I want to be compensated. What? He then tells me that his "good customers" usually tell him that they don't need to be compensated on the FIRST item he ruins, only on anything after that. WHAT? Then he starts negotiating about how old my shirt is, and that it is really my fault because I only bring him shirts, which don't bring him much income (first it's not true, I overpaid for all my dry cleaning as well), and the shirts cost $2.25 EACH. We finally settle on 1/3 of the sticker price of a new shirt, and then he starts lecturing me about how I threatened him because I told him that I go there because he was recommended as being trustworthy. Needless to say, I took my remaining shirts, and the ones I had brought with me to be laundered and found a new place. This guy is a complete idiot as a business owner. Good riddance. read more
