We could tell that he genuinely cared about the bride and groom getting the pictures they wanted and having a great experience. He was intuitive enough to see that all of our running around Mystic Seaport was starting to take a toll on the bride and was able to very efficiently get the remaining shots without wearing her out too much. At the reception, he was very friendly with all of the guests and accommodated all of our requests. My husband and I were so impressed that we asked for a business card in case we need a photographer in the future and we live in Pennsylvania! It was an absolute pleasure to work with Mike and I hope we can work with him in the future.

The turn around time to receive photos was perfect, and constant communication was great as well. We were thrilled with the amount of photos that we received and the quality of them. They were beautifully captured and Chris has "the eye" for photography. The newborn photo-shoot at home was good and we loved all of our photos. We look forward to doing more in the future with Chris and Erin !

We were…read morelooking for photographers that can shoot candid photos instead of having everyone poses for pictures at the wedding and Wendy & Traci did well beyond that. They captured all of the special moments and everyone looked so happy and stunning at our wedding. We had a Chinese/American wedding and we were worried that they may miss some of the special moments such as our games with the groom and the parents' tea ceremony since they are not familiar with traditions and the language. But when we got our pictures back, we can't stop laughing about how hilarious our bridesmaids/groomsmen were during the games and how beautiful our moms look at the tea ceremony..They captured it all. Beside the wonderful pictures that shades shutters took for our wedding, they were also extremely flexible with our budget and our requests. Initially we thought we won't be able to afford them with our tight budget, but Wendy & Traci were very accommodating and customized a package for us and gave us the price that is within our budget. And best of all, we only paid for two photographers but Wendy & Traci brought along Krissy as our third photographer on the wedding day at absolutely no charge. Also, after the wedding, my husband wanted all of the pictures in raw file so he can do some more editing (it's his hobby) and they had no problem in doing that and even got us a jump drive big enough to hold more than 50GB of pictures..... These ladies are truly professionals in wedding photography and I can't say enough good things about them. Our guests love our pictures and some of them even took a few of the pictures that Wendy & Traci printed for us at the reception. I would definitely recommend Shades Shutter Photography for weddings or any special occasions for anyone and I can't wait to have them back when we have our first baby...Wendy/Traci - I'll be in touch when the time comes~

Reasonably priced and the final product was some of the best work I have ever seen. Our package got us an engagement shoot and around 12 hours of photography footage for our wedding. We were very very satisfied with the service, professionalism, and overall experience that helped capture the best night of ours lives. When we met them, they were so down to earth and just plain awesome people. Very easy to talk to. It felt like they were old friends and we were catching up. My wife had an idea in her head about where she wanted our engagement shoot, and they took it and rolled with it. They were both so easy to work with and so laid back. Because they are both awesome people, they are always open to new things and different ideas. Instead of shrugging off our suggestions, they embraced them, usually with a laugh. We were really able to connect with them and fell like we were really taken care of. I would recommend Esteban and Marc to anyone and everyone. They were very professional, always ready for whatever came at them, and will always have a great time. Hire them for your wedding, you will not regret it!

When we spoke for the first time, even on very short notice, he was super polite, professional, good-natured, very reasonable w our budget, and willing to do extra research into additional sites in the area. He struck us as hard-working and professional, yet someone nice and fun that we would be very comfortable with on our big day. The day of, he exceeded our (already high) expectations-- he was absolutely wonderful. Nice, calm, fun, blended in, self-sufficient, and there for every single moment we wanted captured. Even for the getting ready pictures, he blended right in w my best friends being part of the supportive, calming, and fun environment without adding any stress. His ideas for shots ranged from classic, elegant, artistic, romantic, sweet, fun, playful-- all very natural and beautiful. After the wedding he kept us posted on his (very efficient) timeline, and sent us the completed products w a lovely note and candy-- very like him to add a sweet personal touch. The photos just AMAZED us. His work w the colors, lighting, people's expressions, his ability to capture all the happiness of the moment in just one shot is just incredible. From the moment we reached out to inquire about her availability, Cate has been super responsive and we could tell she was genuinely interested in our story as well as how we wanted to tell that story through photos. The session went as well as I could have imagined - Cate made us feel so comfortable to be ourselves in front of the camera by connecting with us, listening to our wishes and offering so many ways for us to relax, focus on each other and feel pretty. And the final photos! are! gorgeous! The intimate vibe we loved and wanted to capture is there in our photos, but it also feels unique to us and isn't just a replica of Cate's previous work. There isn't a photo in which we faked our smiles - they're all eye-squinting nose-wrinkling happy laughs and giggles and tender moments because we had that much fun during our session. Her edits were beautiful and when I had an additional request, she was very accommodating as well. Now my only regret is that our wedding isn't remotely close to Connecticut so that we could have Cate as our photographer. She's amazing at what she does and if you have a chance to work with her, I'd 100% go for it.

She made sure to ask about who in our party was out, and to what degree, just in case a sticky situation arose. Cate managed to capture both formal portraits and nice-looking outtakes from in-between formal portraits; got photos of all our guests, and took a lot of candid photos from the dance floor without us even realizing she was there until we saw the album afterwards. She captured all of the detail shots that we had asked for, and innovated a couple of her own that were much appreciated. Both of us have terrible memories, and rely heavily on photographs to remember even really important events. Cate understood this and did a great job photographing things so that we would be able to remember them without worrying. We paid for six hours of just Cate working, which included time spent on the formal photographs, and resulted in just over 700 photos processed and sent to us far faster than we had expected! I think it took her a month or two less than her estimated timeline. Her rate isn't cheap, but she was absolutely worth it, and we were happy to have her working for us for the day! She's been enthusiastic the whole way through, great at adjusting on the fly, and stellar about following up with us. (This review is for our wedding a year and a half ago - I just found the draft I'd written in 2023 and realized I never posted it anywhere!)

Suchitra was really professional and accommodating to our crazy fusion wedding (I am Christian and my husband is Hindu--we had both ceremonies). I only have two tiny complaints--one is that she promised to be there the whole day and then ended up leaving before the father-daughter dance. She asked me if this was ok and I felt bad saying no since it had been such a long day, but because of this I have no pictures of my father-daughter dance with my Dad. She was very accommodating all day, though, and would definitely have stayed if I had asked. The other is that somehow, in all the hubub of the day, I didn't end up with any pictures of my maternal grandparents. She took great care to ask my family and my husband's who to photograph, though, so this may have been my sister or other family members not pointing them out clearly. She took great pictures of my other grandparents. Overall, we had an AWESOME experience, and I would highly recommend Suchitra. If you look at her website, the photos speak for themselves. She also did great with our double-fusion wedding.
