I was looking to change my dentist as Brighter dental - Bedminster also does other services. The…read morefront desk is HIGHLY inefficient even though they appear friendly. We were charged for x-rays as it was part of the new patient sign up but was not intimated when we booked the appointment that this will incur an out of pocket expense as we are covered only every 5 years. When I made the appointment for my daughter, I specifically asked if they needed us to bring in anything. I was told they had everything they needed. A simple transfer of the existing x-rays from my previous dentist would have been sufficient but I ended up paying $150+. Highly inefficient and they do not even have a management number to contact to provide feedback.

So I am writing this to keep people well aware of Brighter Dental Practices and pricing. I went…read morehere because my old dentist had retired and I found them who also accepted my insurance. So first I was told i could only schedule on a Monday because that is when a person who does the evaluation was available. Mind you, no dentist would use a specific date to eval you. Most dentist just do it on any scheduled appointment. So it was my first red flag. Second red flag was the actual evaluation. It took nearly 30+ plus minutes to get some x-rays biting down on X-Ray rings that eventually bruised the top of my mouth. They use a very archaic system that my new dentist did the same xrays in 10 seconds with a 360 degree x-ray machine and saw more then what these people saw. So after the assistant did the x-rays i met with another dentist who told me i had gum disease and would need oral surgery in two of my teeth. I would also need crowns from previous root canals also will need two new root canals. I also was recommended a night guard which honestly is the only thing they got right. So....after that 5 minute check of my teeth, i was told to wait. 5 minutes later I get with a estimated bill $10,500. I could pay off my car with that money. That was red flag number 3. So it gets deeper. They wanted a total of 15 visits. I dont have vacation time that will cover this. So I had a appointment booked my PCP the next day who I will review this with. I saw my PCP the next day for a check up and he received a medical clearance request from Brighter Dental. My Doctor said in his 40+ years of working a practice, he has never seen a request like this. What is a bigger joke is that they requested dosage amounts of different anesthetics that they should already know how to prescribe and use. We both suspect that Brighter Dental doesn't want to take responsibility in case a screw up happens. They should have a licensed anesthesiologist on staff if they want to administer it. So my PCP thought it was Bullshit and in agreement we would reject the request and go elsewhere. So I went and saw a private dentist and when i showed him the bill, his mouth dropped, his assistants' mouth dropped. I had my eval done in 30 minutes with x-rays and all I needed were fillings. I had some cavities but he got rid of them on my next visit and it only took him an hour. He does know about Brighter Dental. So they are a chain dentistry. They have good dentist who work there but they are very aggressive with their treatments...most you dont even need.So obviously i stuck with my new dentist and didnt even both with this place anymore. So discussing the business model with my dentist, he told me that they stay in business because people are just willing to pay for their absurd treatment plans. They charge whatever they want and bank in a shit load of cash. They are very aggressive with you and put you in fear right away. Dont fall for this bullshit maneuver . If you feel its not right, then most likely it is not right. My biggest advice to you is to get a second opinion from a private practice. you will get the honest answers and honest pricing. If you are still unsure, just ask if they charge contracted rates and if they do, perfect. Stick with them. I could tell my dentist was a great one. The way he works with kids is phenomenal. He never minds a personal call if you have any concerns. He is always available. Thats why I go to him and have huge confidence in him. Put it this way, my out of pocket is in the hundreds thanks to him and not in to the double digits thousands thanks to these corporate crooks. So don't go to places like this. Stick with a independent private practice.

Dr Baurmash treated her in two phases and my daughter finally was released from care when she was 14 years old with a big, beautiful smile. At the same time our family relocated from New Jersey to Arizona. I had two other children that needed orthodontic care and I had interviewed a number of Arizona orthodontists and had grave concerns. I knew what to expect and what they were prescribing was not what Dr Baurmash had done for my oldest daughter. One orthodontist even suggested surgery. Dr Baurmash went out of her way to seek out and interview a number of orthodontists in my area of Arizona and she found a practice that was a perfect fit for my two younger children. Fast forward now to 2019 and my oldest daughter who completed all her care with Dr Baurmash in New Jersey,is 25 years old, living and working in San Diego, California. She went to a local dentist, the first on her own and she just called me laughing about how Gugu gaga he was over what he called her perfect orthodontia. He got all geeky and technical in explaining his excitement over the perfection of what had been done to her pallet, her bite and her teeth. He told her that hers was the best orthodontic work he had ever seen. That's Dr Baurmash for you. She went above and beyond to help me when I was no longer a paying customer and now all these years later we come to find out that she was even more exceptional than we already thought she was.

He is on track for needing them only 2 years (over a year in now). This contrasts with some of the other orthodontists and pediatric dentists that i have encountered who seem intent on keeping their patients locked into expensive care for as long as possible. I find the staff and Dr Baurmash perfectly kind, clear and accommodating.
