The bed and pillows were very comfy. Cleaning service visited daily. Our room was clean and had ample space for our luggage. The shower was super hot. We loved the staff. I'm not sure I have the name right, but it might be Yoso, he was the main desk person - he was amazing. So welcoming. He gave great tips on local places. When we forgot our key, he quickly got us access to our room. Fantastic service. We ate breakfast each day in the Fish restaurant. Excellent food and service. Great stay.

Although the room 834 provided only a partial harbor view, we preferred this side over the harbor view to avoid facing the cruise ship directly. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. We arrived before 3 pm and the front desk staff kindly accommodated our request for an early check-in. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable, though slightly compact. A friend traveling with us got #830, which was marginally larger than ours. It's interesting as I'm a Hilton gold member while my friend isn't but ended up getting a complimentary upgrade. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom featuring both a rainfall shower and a spacious bathtub. We had breakfast at FISH restaurant on Level 1. The dining area offered beautiful harbor views, and the buffet selection was impressive especially fresh fruit (including golden kiwis), smoked salmon, pastrami, and an excellent variety of bread and pastries. Overall, our stay was relaxing and enjoyable, aside from some rooftop noise around 5 am on the first night. When we reserved the room, the Hilton website said the pool would be closed for maintenance until 31 Oct. However it was still closed when we arrived first week of Nov. The pool almost like an infinity one, is one of the reasons I chose this hotel. It's unfortunate that we didn't get to enjoy it.

The gym is quite small and had one broken treadmill that didn't have a sign so I'm not sure if staff are aware of it. Our rooms didn't include breakfast, but we were excited to try it. We ended up disappointed because the hostess gave us two menus and told us to sit anywhere. There's prices for a la carte and buffet and we opted for the buffet and just went up to get food. A staff member stopped us and asked if we were doing the buffet and then told us she'd bring us the bill so we could sign our room. It felt like maybe a staff member should have brought us to our seat and asked us what we wanted to prevent being stopped at the food counter and having guest and staff play a guessing game. The breakfast selection is mediocre. Another table was sat and the staff member who stopped us was quick to go to their table and explain the menu choices to them so I'm not sure if it's a lack of consistency or if they need more staff during the breakfast shift because it seemed like it was just her and the hostess working. Staff was also slow to clear tables.

Location and views alone are 5-stars. Booked my trip back in December. To gain more airline points,…read moreI booked the hotel through the airline portal. After reviewing the map of the Auckland central business district (CBD) and where the Sky Tower was, I knew I wanted to stay by the harbor, with a view and reasonably priced. That's when I came across M Social Viaduct Harbor. From Google Maps and looking at YouTube videos, the hotel was in the midst of it all. My first encounter with them was a few weeks earlier when I learned that M Socials last check-in time was midnight. Unfortunately, because my flight was schedule to land at 9:45 pm, having to get through customs and waiting for Uber, we'd be cutting it close. So I emailed M Social and they assured me that we could check-in after midnight, no rush since they knew how long customs could take. What a relief. When we got there, a little after 11 pm, I was told our room was upgraded to the 12th floor which is the highest floor. I was told "The harbor view is great up there." And it is!!! All the rooms face the harbor and all rooms have a view!!! The higher you are the better the view. And when we got to our room, we had a signed card from the employees along with Easter candy because I didn't realize it was Easter weekend when I booked our flights. The room was clean with modern and youthful aesthetic. And the price? I can't believe it is one of the least expensive hotels along the harbor. It was between $129 - $189/night. Of course, Weekends are higher price. And, laundry is free. We just had to pay for laundry detergent. No dryer sheets in Auckland, though. People in NZ said I had an American accent. But they're the ones with accents... lol. Auckland is also a melting pot. The front staff were mainly Filipino, Vietnamese, and Chinese. So they had their native accent along with the English accent. But everyone was so kind to us. And they have a restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night socializing. Although we only had apps and drinks, the food was really good and non-alcoholic drinks were refreshing. As much as I want to gatekeep M Social, I also want to praise the staff members and hope everyone can enjoy your time staying at this wonderful establishment.

Great hotel for business folks, but do not recommend for families or people on a budget…read more I came here on a business trip - stayed four nights. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of Auckland (a rather small city). I was especially grateful for the concierge who gave me great recommendations for walking distance places (I was without a car). The breakfast buffet is massive, but the price tag is very expensive for what it's worth. I ate a la carte for breakfast on most days. The rooms are very spacious, clean and quiet. The rooms come with their own mobile phone, so if you plan on coming and not using a sim card, it's very helpful! There are many conferences that take place in the lobby, so it can be a little chaotic if you plan on having a drink in the lobby or finding a quiet spot that is not the room. The gym facilities are very nice as well, plenty equipment!

Room - definitely not luxury but decent enough. Location - about a 15 minute walk to city center but the hotel has a shuttle if you're not in the mood for walking. Spa - overall great service and you can enjoy the amenities with spa service. I enjoyed my facial and massage and loved the lounge area to relax afterwards. All in all, for the price the hotel is ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here but if you get a good deal I wouldn't pass it up.

I hailed a cab which wisked me and my luggage to this lovely location with the nicest front desk staff who worked diligently to get me to a room as quickly as possible. Let me add here I was at the hotel at 9:30 AM and the room availability was 3:00 PM. Yes, I actually planned to check in and leave my luggage to tour the city....best made plans, I didn't plan on getting ill. It did take a couple of hours but I ate a great breakfast, drank several cups of coffee, a liter of sparkling water and tried my best to remain in an upright position in the lounge. The concierge tracked me down and escorted me to my lovely room before noon. I was pleasantly surprised by the furnishings and quality of the hotel, don't get me wrong I don't do cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but I assumed the first available room wouldn't be the one I reserved. Great king bed, soft pillows, huge TV that I never used, desk, bar, refrigerator, hot water pot....bathroom with a huge soaker tub, separate shower, double sink...I was impressed. Then I started reading the room service menu....oh yeah I was thinking I could camp here and never leave. Since everything converted to NZD from USD the prices were cheap by Hawaii standards. The restaurants and room service were top shelf. The staff from concierge to bellman were fantastic. The check-in staff were awesome. This hotel is five star all the way.

I did have an issue at the end when checking out. The billing they provided me was incorrect. But after contacting the hotel the bill was corrected.

The entrance and front lobby are grand and gorgeous. With a long marble check in desk and statement floral arrangements, it makes quite the first impression. We arrived late after a long day and we were greeted by a friendly face and shown immediately to our room. As soon as we stepped in and I saw the luxurious bathroom, a huge fluffy king bed, and expansive windows with a view of the city, I immediately chastised my husband for splurging. I was very surprised to find out how affordable the room actually was considering the quality we were enjoying. The bathroom had a beautiful modern appeal with both a shower and a separate tub accented with recessed lighting. The bed had soft clean linens and puffy pillows. The room was very comfortable and felt exceptionally lovely after a long trip of airbnbs. We ate in a couple of the restaurants in the hotel and were very impressed with both the quality of the meals and their knowledge of gluten free. The access to the casino across the road via the skyway is also convenient for late night eats. Additionally, the service we received by all of the hotel staff was excellent. They even stored our bags for us so we could enjoy a walk in downtown before departure. I was quickly checked in and shown to my oversized room overlooking the viaduct harbor. The room has pretty much everything you might need, from a Nespresso coffee machine and coffee, an in room safe, a wonderful rain shower that you will want to stand in all day and a functional work space. But my favorite thing was that the windows opened to let in fresh air and that those windows were floor to ceiling letting in tons of light and sunshine ( no worries if you are a sleeper who needs dark, there are shade and draperies that will fix that for you. Breakfast was included in my room rate so I was able to go down each day and enjoy a fresh cooked breakfast in the restaurant. Know that there is also a huge breakfast buffet that can be enjoyed alone, or with any of the ordered items. There was a small snafu with the Internet as they limit how much you can download, but a call to the front desk unearthed a workable solution. And know that the pool is indoor only so if sitting out in the sunshine is your thing, that will be difficult to do at the hotel, but you can walk a few steps to the dock area and there are benches in the sun there. All in all a functional place to call home for a few days that is worth the money paid given its great location and service!

We enjoyed speaking with every single employee who takes pride in what they do at the boatshed. The proximity to the beach is unbeatable and we enjoyed a swim early in the morning before we checked out-- a completely empty beach too! Plus it helps that the boatshed supplies you with the beach materials you may need as well.
