We enrolled our two sons, ages 8 and 4, at Best Brains Learning Center Dublin, but our experience…read morewas disappointing. Each class is only 30 minutes per subject, and that time is shared with about 4 other kids. For close to $40 per session, the value just isn't there. During class, the instructors seemed to do the bare minimum. Most of the actual work is pushed onto kids and parents through worksheets, which defeats the purpose of paying for guided learning. What concerned us more was our 4-year-old's experience. When we arrived 10 to 15 minutes early a few times, we found him just sitting and playing instead of being engaged. In a 30-minute session, losing 10 minutes is significant. Overall, it felt unstructured and not worth the cost. We expected more engagement, attention, and value for the price.

My daughter joined the Elite Prep San Ramon counseling program during her sophomore year when she…read morefirst arrived in the States, and it was truly one of the best decisions we ever made. Our counselor, Mr. Yeh, has been there every step of the way. He assisted with managing her school GPA, providing English tutoring, TOEFL test preparation, college selection consulting, coaching for application essays, and interview prep. He constantly kept in touch with us to ensure everything was on track. Thanks to Mr. Yeh's dedicated support, my daughter received an admission offer to an excellent four-year university, rather than a community college as her school counselor had previously suggested. Elite Prep San Ramon is a fantastic place for college counseling, and I highly recommend their services.

Helen Kim and Sam Rim really took the time to counsel us and pointed us in the right direction. They helped us see that focusing on AP courses was going to do more for my son than just chasing SAT scores. Their guidance gave my son the tools he needed to apply to UC schools, and now he's happily finishing out his senior year. You can just tell his confidence has grown so much through this whole process. He's excited and ready for college -- and that means everything as a parent. If you have a kid going through the college prep process, I can't recommend them enough!

He really enjoyed working with his teachers, especially his AP Chemistry teacher, Mr. Kozel. They explained concepts clearly and in a way that was easy for him to understand, which made a noticeable difference in both his confidence and his grades. They were always friendly, patient, attentive, and very helpful whenever we had questions or needed assistance with scheduling. Overall, we had a very positive experience with Summit over the years and are truly grateful for all the support they provided. I would highly recommend Summit to other students and families.

Steps prep is hands-down the BEST tutoring center for high school classes here in Pleasanton, or…read moreanywhere ever! Unlike other tutoring centers that just want to make money off of you, Kerry and Arick Little truly just have their students' best interest at heart. Whether it's finding the right class for your child, or responding to email problems during the weekend, they just want to make sure that your student succeeds. Sometimes, if they don't have the right class for you, they would even tell you where to go. Arick is a wonderful Math teacher who's taught both my children. He makes the material easy and clear, and sets my children up for success in the stem fields. We're so lucky to have him as a Math coach here at PUSD and the Virtual Academy!

I was introduced to Brightfox by a friend a few months ago, and we have been very happy with our…read moreexperience. One of the things I like most is the flexible class system. Many tutoring centers require you to buy a package of classes before you can start, but BrightFox lets you begin with just one class. That gave us a chance to see if it was a good fit for our child without feeling pressured. It also gave me the impression that they are confident in the quality of their program. Even though the classes are 2:1, my child still receives plenty of individual attention. It really feels like one-on-one learning. One of my children had never attended a tutoring center before high school because he preferred studying on his own. At BrightFox, the teachers always welcome questions and explain concepts step by step in a way that matches each student's level. This has helped my child become much more confident in learning. What impressed me the most is that the teachers don't just give the answers. They make sure students understand why the answer is correct and continue explaining until they know the student truly understands. You can tell they genuinely care about each student's learning. After every class, we receive detailed feedback about what was covered, how our child did, and what to work on next. As a parent, I really appreciate being able to stay involved in my child's learning. Before we enrolled, Mr. Alex took the time to understand our child's learning goals and helped us choose the best path. Ms. Heather has also been wonderful. She carefully follows our child's progress and provides support and guidance whenever it is needed. Her communication and care have given us a great deal of confidence. Our family is very happy that we chose Brightfox.

That's when the instructor/owner's behavior towards my child changed drastically. She became rude, unprofessional, and even insulting toward my daughter, which deeply affected her. My daughter, who had previously been consistent with her sessions, suddenly began resisting going to Kumon. When we asked why, she broke down in tears and shared what had happened. We immediately reported the incident to both the center and Kumon's higher authorities, but unfortunately, no action was taken. we had nearly six paid weeks of unused sessions, which were never addressed. Our intention was not to get refund but at least some apology. It became painfully clear that the center owners priority is profit, not students. I urge other parents to be very careful -- especially during the withdrawal process with this center. Based on our experience, this center DOES NOT foster a truly supportive or respectful learning environment. I would strongly advise parents to be cautious and consider other options in the town.
