I set our appointments up about 6 months ago (when we KNEW we didn't want to go back to our last Dr.) The receptionist was friendly and helpful. My husband had an appointment at 9, mine was at 10. He said he wasn't taken back until 9:30 and was a little (annoyed?) with the wait. I didn't have as long of a wait, maybe, 10 minutes. All the staff here were simply wonderful! We REALLY liked Dr. Urias! He was so friendly and personable. Dr. Urias listened to my story of my previous nightmare-of-an-office-experience and reassured me that this visit would be different. AND IT WAS! IT WAS WONDERFUL. I have complete confidence in his knowledge. My husband dropped his eye glass Rx next door at Eye Mart. So convenient! Glasses within an HOUR! I ordered contacts and they were ready for pick up within 5 days (slight delay due to the Christmas holiday). We HIGHLY recommend!!

I did ask permission to peak in the window of the lab. It is impressive! The ladies were all very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. My eye doctor in New Mexico had been following the gradual decline in my vision for several years, so after I moved to Midland and saw Dr. Turner, I wasn't surprised that he recommended surgery. But I was surprised with how well everything went! From pre-op to post-op, I was fully informed about the procedure and what to expect. The nursing staff at the surgery center professional, helpful and caring. The anesthesia was perfect with no pain or even discomfort. And Dr. Turner's skill and experience have given me the ability to see clearly without glasses for the first time since I was six years old!

The anesthesia didn't work properly! 2.5 years and multiple surgeries later we are left with an eye that cannot be seen out of well, eye drops every day, under the care of a glaucoma specialist for pressure issues every 6 mos, and a retina specialist every year. So much pain, loss of work, depression, and loss of activities where good sight is needed. I know that nothing is guaranteed, and things will and do happen but, there were things that could have been done to insure a safer, better outcome.

The week before the eval, I got 3 reminders of my appointment, one through email, one call and one text. Morning of the appointment, I get a call from the actual office and was told she didn't know what happened, but they don't do evaluations in Odessa and I'd have to reschedule with the office in Midland!. I just cancelled. I won't trust my vision with such an incompetent office.
