The instructors have a mad amount of experience under their belt, and push their students to the limits, all while having fun and feeling good after the class. All ages excepted and no discrimination allowed, come by and train or even work out in the gym, mind you this gym is not all glory with top of the line equipment. This gym was built around the old ways, sweat and iron. I've been to a large majority of gyms in town, and this is the one that's taking me back to the good ol days. People who are here are here to work, not play on there phones and get tans. Highly recommend.

Well I signed up for a two week trial and we showed up and it was such a gloomy place not one instructor is smiling or even a bit friendly .... it's like a bunch of angry ppl or socially disconnected people. My son was ready to go as we walked in .... my son isn't bad or anything he is just a normal active boy. We did the long sit and listen to the instructor brag about himself session , then he kept going on and on about backing police and like police do no wrong when we ALL know police can be bad just like anybody else and my son and I did a small class. The lady they had us with was clearly still in training and didn't know what she was doing. After that we didn't get our two week trial, we got thrown into a office and was super pressured to sign up for classes because if we didn't sign up that day it was going to be so much more expensive to sign up , I went along with my husbands decision to sign up and it was the worst decision ever. My son never wanted to go to class and the more I went I understood why. I have seen great classes and students who get out on the mat and give it their all , great behavior from students who learn the art and love it..... Pittman Academy was none of that, everybody looks like they don't want to smile and they are scared to enjoy class. Paid the full price for the classes for a family of 4 and didn't go for no more than a month , if that..... me and my youngest son never even started..... biggest waste of money and time, wish it would have been a different outcome but nope. Sadly someone called me from the studio and I told him exactly how I felt, all he had to say was well you have a good day!!!! Olivia one the other hand was lazy. she would sit there and be on her phone smoking instead of teaching. I've seen her also treat multiple children as if they were adults and should know everything they were handed. on top of all of this thier studio always stank. their silks smelled terrible and the whole back area smelled of feet. if you're look for a good instructor and a building that's actually kept up with I suggest going to aerial angels. the instructor there is super kind and doesn't make you feel bad when you don't know what you're doing. though it's more pricey it's better than getting put down every time you ask a question.

Master Downs is a top-notch teacher and has a group of excellent instructors. They're all great, down-to-earth people who are willing to help you with anything and everything. The school has a friendly, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere that just isnt present at many other martial arts schools. I really wish I could continue taking classes there, unfortunately I had to move away from Lubbock because of work.
