I like to stay in little independent local hotels wherever I can but it's not always possible (at the right price) so @premierinn is our choice for a January wedding in Scotland. You heard 'January wedding in Scotland' right? So it's cold and we need warmth and comfort which from a few previous stays at PI, we know we'll get. But we got a lot more.
For one this place is conveniently located. Yes you really need a car but then you're just a few minutes from the beach, local amenities and the lovely town of Ayr.
The room and hotel are very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Although, unusually this hotel didn't have a bath so it drops a star! But the shower is huge, bathroom clean and tidy and it even had a clever door to make the loo private.
The room is compact but well designed with power sockets, mirrors, hair dryers all in the right place! There are hot drink making facilities and a little room for clothes but hooks for coats by the door so they don't clutter the wardrobe space.
The best thing though, is the service. Every single person is friendly and welcoming but the restaurant staff went beyond this. We had the same person for dinner and 2 breakfasts (Andy?) and he remembered us, chatted and treated us so well. And of course the PI breakfast is legendary - huge choice buffet and great value.
All is all, we would definitely go back if we happen to need a bed in this part of the UK. Highly recommended. read more
