I learned the hard way that not all banks are alike, and it was Premier Bank that taught me that lesson. It's no secret that banks are in business to make money, but some are better at applying basic principles of reasonableness than others, such as earning a customer's trust and business versus forcing it through legal agreements. Here are some examples: 1. Some banks feel that they need to earn your business and trust on an ongoing basis, and therefore do not apply early payment penalties to their loans. Premier Bank applies early payment penalties to their loans, thereby forcing a legal relationship rather than earning it. 2. Some banks will consider modifications to loans when business ownership changes, without forcing a customer to repay a large portion of the principle balance before allowing a modification to the loan. Premier Bank, based on my experience, is likely to require an unreasonable principle payment in order to consider a modification. I was involved in a business partnership, and when my partner decided to step away from the business this bank made the transition even more difficult for us then was already inherent in the ownership buyout. Specifically, they demanded tens of thousands of dollars in principle reduction in order agree to a loan modification, while leveraging an early payment penalty should I decide to change banks. In the end, I did not have the capital to pay down the principle as demanded, so I was forced to move my accounts to another bank. Fortunately, another bank in Hastings was more than happy to keep the terms of the original loan, even with the ownership change, which tells me Premier was more interested in extracting early payment penalties than building a solid business relationship. I share this with the hope that others will avoid the same stress and financial loss that I experienced. This lesson cost me almost $10k in fees, closing costs and early payment penalties, so to say I was disappointed by this financial institution is a gross understatement. If you are looking for a personal or business bank, skip this one and seek out an institution willing to invest in you and your business. My experience taught me that Premier is more interested in your money than a relationship. Take some time to find a banking partner, and avoid becoming a slave to this lender. read more

This is a wonderful bank! I am a business owner and use Premier Banks for both my business and personal banking needs. I first started using them as a business customer over 10 years ago, and now all of my business and personal banking is with Premier Banks. I can't say enough about these great folks! The people at the Hastings location are just great. It's always a friendly atmosphere inside, and they have a very helpful team of people who seem to know every customer by name! Whether we vist the bank in person, or contact them via phone or email, the service is immediate and communications are excellent. The location is very easy to access, both for drive-up and lobby needs. Their ATM is in the drive-up area too, with it's own lane, making it very convenient. If you are looking for a new bank, give them a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

Worst bank I have ever experienced, and I've got accounts at many different banks and credit unions. The Osseo branch is horrible, and when you have a problem with a teller, they won't even give you their name. If someone treats you that rudely at any business, you have a right to the name. Their attitudes are awful and they are always on their cell phones. They are all good friends and so they "protect" each other, including the Vice President, whom I thought would help me. None of our funds were transferred to a different bank, and we were told there would be no problem to do so. I would give negative stars if yelp would let me! read more

NO customer service. Their own ATM gave me all $20 bills at no surcharge. Then when I tried to convert these to larger $100 bills the teller said NO, that I needed to be a customer. What kind of bank will not change bills?!?!? A bad one. Not a customer and never gonna be one with that welcome. read more
