I used to hate going to the bank, but for the first time in many years, I now look forward to it…read more The reason? There's a terrific associate at the front counter (I think her name is Gabriela - I'm too shy to ask) who is exceptionally nice, impressively skilled, and makes an effort every time I stop by to welcome me and ask me a question or two about how my day is going or if I have any plans for the weekend. These brief exchanges give me the impression that she (and, by proxy, Wells Fargo) are actually interested in me as a customer. Simple conversation is a lost art, but Gabriela is blessed with the ability to make people feel at ease and, more importantly, feel valued. What an asset she is to this organization!

Donna came up with a good rate and the process of setting up a credit union account to become a member was swift and easy. Who would have thought?…read more When I was growing up this was known as Drover's. Everyone banked a Drover's. Well, years later I switch jobs and need a bank account. Bremer fits the bill - free checking, free ATM card and convenient locations. The people here couldn't be friendlier or nicer! Very accommodating and helpful. Plus, I can get cash almost any place without a fee! I would highly recommend Bremer to anyone fed up with big banks or credit unions who have gotten too big.

1999 called.... they want their banking system back!…read more Warning: SLOW old technology: when I deposit $500 cash into the ATM on a Friday, the money didn't actually hit my bank account until Wed. Totally unacceptable!!! I had to scramble and borrow money from a friend to cover a bill hitting my account. Atmosphere: Very old entryway to the building, looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. Hours: The old system drive through is open from 5-6pm. They only let you take a maximum of $1K out at the drive through. It's not full service. Bad Staff: I was looked down upon and literally scolded when I asked about over draft protection credit card, or something like other banks do. "Well, just don't do that (overdraft)," one lady said. Two women talking with me looked down at me, like I was trash for asking important, smart, banking questions. Turns out you have to go through the lengthy loan process (as if it was for a house or a car), but it's for a high interest rate loan for an accidental banking overdraft (not that I plan for it, but especially with their slow system, it might happen). Horrible. I'm looking to take my money elsewhere that appreciates my business. Other banks will offer $200 to switch, like US Bank. I'm moving on!

While working diligently to work out an issue in the system I overheard the other employees working with other members and was impressed with their welcoming nature, always informative and honest, and it was heart warming when you could plainly see the relationships between the workers and members, showing me there are long-time employees here that value their jobs, the members, and the credit union. The facility is modern and clean with comfy chairs when you are waiting on a banker, making the place feel even more welcoming.
